This team should've been a playoff team. They should've kept Butler, Maclean, Adams, Ellison, and Chapman. Draft Howard, trade Gugs for Laettner (not Webber) and made a deal for a legit center. And have Muresan be the sixth man!!
this could have been a dynasty. keep c-webb, rasheed, and juwan, mcilvane bolts and you replace him with ben wallace. then instead of trading for seven games of mark price you keep scott skiles and brent price, you keep that pick and have the choice of kobe bryant, steve nash, jermaine o'neal, or peja stojakovic. man us airways would have been the spot and they would still be the bullets because too many black people would hate changing to the wizards
Don't forget when they brought back Kenny Walker because of their injuries. And that 10 day contract to Billy Oliver when Chapman got injured the season before that. Webber, Wallace, Pack, and B. Price were all injured at the same time during that year if I remember correctly.
i remember going to the Bullets opening game in the 95-96 season. C Webb, Howard, and Rasheed Wallace all played. I think they played the Detroit Pistons and I remember Wallace caught an alley-oop and the whole arena exploded. It's too bad we didn't get to see those 3 play together for that long. Very few people even remember that Wallace played for the Bullets.
from the bench Brent Price, Calbert Cheaney, Don McLean 18ppg in 93/94, Rasheed Wallace,Jim Mcllvaine,Tim Legler,Mitchell Butler, but Price and Webber played only 7 and 15 games that season and Bullets missed the playoffs. Chapman was traded for Jeff Webster! and DonMclean for Robert Pack because Price injury.
We can all thank Wes Unseld for ruining what would have been a dominant front line for a decade. Wallace for Strickland and Webber for Richmond, Brilliant.
@hank7216 wes unseld was dumb but rasheed and webber were complete headcases back then. the other moves like chapman were idiotic. should have got a real coach to coach those youngsters. they were the best players on that team by a mile and were like 10 years younger than everyone else that mattered. jim lynman and bernie bickerstaff were not the answer.
@big973e Lol. I think they should've traded (or not drafted) Cheaney. However, I see why they traded Chapman. He was injured all the time. And wasn't healthy until he got traded to Miami and (later) Phoenix.

It wouldn't have mattered because nothing comes close to Jordan. Pippen. Rodman.

just think four years ago we could have had a lineup of C-Ben Wallace
PF-Rasheed Wallace
SF-Chris Webber
SG-Richard Hamilton
PG-Gilbert Arenas
6th man Juwon Howard
I don't think the pistons would have been dominating the eastern conference the way they have for the last several years.
adamjamfan 3 years ago
I've watched every Bullets/Wizards game since 92.
As gifted as Chris Webber was, he wasn't quick enough to stick small forwards on defense.
An ideal lineup would have been Wallace at the 5 and Webber at the 4 with Howard coming of the bench playing some minutes at SF.
Unfortunately Wallace never warmed up to the idea of playing center until he was traded to the Pistons.

All you needed to do was add Robert Pack and Brent Price and then this jawn would be complete :-P !

I have to disagree. When both players were in their prime Chris Webber was superior.

Man, I wish Sheed was still in D.C. today...

This team had a lot of young talent, but really never got it together. Webber and Rasheed were pretty immature back then.
