This is my theory for season 4 and it makes the most sense. The him that Kate mentioned might be her baby son. she mightve been pregnant after-all and wanted to go off Island and have her baby safely. The one in the coffin might be Michael because the obituaries said he was survived by one teenaged son. The one in the coffin was from new York, as was Michael. Michael probably changed his name since after killing 2 people on Island i guess he thought he couldnt be Michael anymore.

and why i say that is because the producers said there was no coincidence that two characters were Jack and Jacob. Jack is a derivitive of Jacob. And John said "Your not supposed to do this" because he knew Jacob was future Jack. Thus he couldnt shoot Jack because hed be shooting Jacob. Just a theory though. And as I said The "Others" are no longer the enemy. the people off-shore will be.

since there are 3 more seasons left to go and LOST ends in 2010 theres no way that the people Jack called are actually the rescue party. Jack probably made a bargain and he and Kate wound up off the Island. jack wants to go back to save everyone else but cant get back to the Island so he feels responsible. thus his sudden depressed nature off Island. Theres also a possibility that Jacob is future Jack.

Ok. Heres my theorys on season 4. And i think its the closest yet. Ben was right. The people on the Boat have evil intentions and they become the new enemies in season 4. The castaways and the "Others' will probably have to join forces and live in the same community to work together to fight the invaders from off shore. Locke tries to shoot him, but he can't do it. He tells Jack that this isn't supposed to happen and walks away. It looks as if Jack may change his mind (or is at least pondering on what Locke said), but suddenly someone on the other line picks up. Jack tells them that they are the survivors of Flight 815. He then tells him that they are on their way to "rescue" them (which is highly, highly unlikely, because Charlie found out that Naomi wasnt with Penny, and Ben said that she is a bad person).
