the song is wonderful...the video is great...so they don't match...who cares? so many on u tube are only photographs...I would rather see video even if it is to a different song than the audio.. I was fortunate enough to see Elvis in concert in 1973. It was awesome! He was awesome, the band was awesome...the night will forever be one in a million .
Elvis isn't singing CC Rider in this clip. He was singing I got a woman. The lead in went into Mystery Train and was from the August 1969 engagement. You can't fool us real 56 year old Elvis fans. This clip is all wrong.
Best version of that song! He sung that with balls, on fire! His vocals were always fantastic, but between 69 and 71 he was better than anyone before during or since or ever will be. His vocals on some of thise recordings during that time period were fabulous. his delivery of the tunes was awesome. He was really rockin' during those few years. You can tell he was on fire being back to doing what he was made for. 69-72 Elvis was Back! He shoulda taken a break after the Aloha special.
don't really understand the statement of this being the "last" year of the good years for elvis. i saw him in concert in 70, 71, 73, 74, and 75. and he NEVER failed to be the king. a little wieght on people does not make them a bad version of themselves. his voice only got better as time went on. everyone gets older, but not everyone can stay the king as elvis did.
Jouneezeh, I like this video very much, because it visualizes the best version of this song by Elvis. I understand that you used the footage of I got a Woman, because he has the guitar, like he often did with C. C. Rider.
Thanks! I'm really glad you liked the video! :) Yes that was the reason why I used specially I got A Woman- footage on it. On stage is very fantastic album and I like also the FTD label's album Polk Salad Annie!
Nobody is ever going to agree on just what the lyrics of the damn song actually mean. One of our All-American folk curses, weighted with sinister undertones. Nevertheless, Elvis's rousing contribution is most welcome. The technology of the era is primitive but it's painfully obvious that Elvis was never playing that guitar.
@Jouneezeh this is an awesome video but i disagree with you when you said ''this is the last year of elvis's best years.'' elvis may have gone downhill healthwise but his performances just kept on getting better. many journalists said that elvis's last concert was his best. I can see clearly why.
@ElvisPresleyFanatic1 Y'see, after 1970, i think that only the ballads/powerful songs were only good, and the fast songs like this one weren't very good at all. but hey, opinions :D
remember that I make fantasy videos. On my fantasy videos, I don't put any real footage. That's the mystery of Fantasy videos. But you don't have to like my videos. Everyone can tell his own opinion.
But I don't try to make something that isn't nothing. Every video that I upload in Youtube is made with passion and created for long time.. I don't upload or make any videos that I don't like or that is a dumb idea.
ElvisPelvisKing-user commented to this video It's See See Rider and someone reply on it. It said why the song was shortened to C.C.Rider and that See See Rider is an incorrect name for the song because RCA didn't want to search the fact. I removed that very good reply-comment and I was going to reply on it like this : It's nice that you wrote what is the story of the song and why you have to use C.C.Rider instead of See See Rider. :)
wow wow......james burton is on quitar....and jerry scheff is on bass.......( and about the sound...maybe that is with the dj sumnner and the stamps...but the imagine is not)
You are right about the film....That's the way it is .....BUT this is the soundtrack from the CD On stage....Which is a different version.....and different staff in parts....But the main players were the sames ,,,,,,,
@01elvisfan of course it's JD !!!!!!!!!!!! I went to see my comments, cause I couldn't believe I could make such mistake...and I saw not only that I did it once....but Twice!!!....yeap...it's jd....I suppose I typed that wrong :)))))
JD Sumner and the Stamps Quartet were not with Elvis in Feb 1970. He was backed by the Imperials Quartet. Kathy Westmoreland also was not with Elvis at that time.
Well.. Burton was his lead guitar player,Scheff was the bassist; and it's JD Sumner, not DJ... And he was not in the final credits.. Guess Kathy Westmoreland is not good enough to be there too...
burton was lead, wilkenson was rythm, sheff was bass ronnie tutt was with someone else for this engagemnet. the imperials , sweet insopirations and millie kirkham were his back up singers, glen hardin was a newbie at this time and charlie was his harmonizer and joe gurrcho just started with elvis at this time too. the stamps didnt come til mid 71 and kathy westmoreland came in late august after thats the way it is was finished being filmed.
Whoa Elvis, you still are the king. Your lead guitar man is or was sensational. Your a fine guy bud, rest in peace knowing you are loved all over the world.
he even had great performances in 1977 for crying out loud. unchained melody, hurt, you gave me a mountain, where no one stands alone to name a few songs that he performed in concert. and his final recordings in 76 with way down and moody blue. people underrate elvis cuz of hios looks and weight at the end its disgusting
Love it! :D
