  • I have this I am the only person at the age of 16 with this I have recently had a kidney biopsy and turns out I have the minimul change part to so I will be on steroids for six weeks please could you tell me some of the side affects?

  • @mattroyle2k9 The worst and main thing, 'Moonface'

  • Intake of salt would make the swelling (aka edema) worse for sure.

  • Thanks. :) I'm a nursing student and this video was helpful.

  • This is a doctor from Finland

  • @RicoAbdulProject No, Argentina.

  • my husband had nephrotic syndrome and his body (stomach, testis and legs) swallowed. can anyone help mention the name of the drugs? i live in indonesia . he's been laying in hospitaL for 2 weeks and there's no improvement so far. he's got 2 bottles of albumin.. what can i do to decrease the swallowed...(bad english , sorry)

  • @marmaladeatsumut My boyfriend has had nephrotic syndrome for a couple of years now and is actually in the hospital now. He is back on "Prednisone" which is a steroid that helps the kidneys function properly. How i your husband now?

  • my name is mackenzie and i am 10 years old and i have nefrotic syndrome i have hade it sence i was 6

  • I've had this since I was 2 and I'm 18 yrs old. After going through all these years with Drugs and Chemo-Therapy, I think I'm on my way of being cured. I haven't had a relapse in a year.

  • A nephorologist doesn't know which drugs can worsen the nephrotic syndrome, that's pathetic.

  • my son has ns since 2yrs old now hes 10 yrs old and still in relapse the last is 2yrs ago and now again so h take steroids again and its okay again do u think continious taking this prednison will stop this or is it necessary to have biopsy sine the medicine is curing or effective but for sometimes it relapse and how many percent that taking thu dose patient is cured

  • my daughter died from this in 95 she was six years old there is still lots to learn about this disease.

  • @Pooky896 your daughter died ? , im 13 and i had this i had to take steriods and everything i didnt start to get my eyes puffy and my kidney werent acting up it stopped acting up when i was 11 or 12 so i guess its going away when i get older thats what my doctor said .

  • I had Nephrotic Syndrome when i was 10 years old, i'm now 38 back then the doctors were a bit baffled as to what this condition was. I've found out that this condition is hereditry in my family, as my little sister had it, as did one of my daughters. She was prescribed Prednisilone tablets. Thank God none of us have relapsed.

  • This movie was very informative. I'm a nursing student and studying peds GU system. I have a test next week and this movie put a everything in perspective.

    Thanks. This was great

  • @lnjgpa Um, gosh - I'm, a bit scared by this, learning medical stuff off You Tube. I've been a renal and rheumatology patient, and student, for a loooong time. If you want info, can't you bend the ear of a consultant, or volunteer to help in the weekly clinic or something? Talk to medical staff, they must be all around you if you're a nursing student, surely? Don't pick stuff up from You Tube, god almighty.

  • I have this ive had it since i was 4 im 21 now and had a releaps last year its kinda shitty

  • i had this for 8 years and i still have relapses :(

  • The vaccine question was a good one.

  • lol well.....i guess another update. Around thanksgiving, my doctors at duke tried a treatment called rituximab. lol, i actually had an reaction to it when they tried to raise the dose speed and couldnt breathe, so they had to keep it minimum the whole time (16hrs). well either way, my kidney function lvls r bk in its usual normal, though im still spilling a lot of protein in my urine. my doctor has already done told me though that he only thinks that the treatment has paused evrything....13yrs.

  • I was diagnosed a year in May. My kidneys are now functoning normaly.

  • holly s***t i had this syndrome when i was 3 years old. thank it is gone. but my eye didnt swelling. i just puke green. but in the hospital then it swell.

  • It doesnt go away

  • the shape of the object that hit me with a beam of light went, out to form a perfect oval then collapesed back into its self. then took off!!!! EVERYONE LOOK UP ON YOU TUBE "CREATIN LEVELS AND UFOS" YOU WILL BE AMAZED. from that exp. my intrest have changed into learning more about nature, astrology, the bible, flower of life, sacred geometry, the pyramids, etc. almost changed overnight!!!! i went from 120mlg. every other day of Pres. steroids to taking nothing...i was huge!!! GOD IS REAL!!!

  • I had nephrotic syndrome twice. Once at age 3 and then 13, giving the credit to a fairy tail being is stupid. Science heeled all of us. Sorry just had to tell you

  • lol...to keep an update on my status......i was just released from the hospital at duke. I am just getting wrse. My disease is in renal failure and most liely ill still be in and out. Whats sad is that most likely ill be in the hospital on my bday. Im not going to the bathroom and im spilling a lot of protein in my urine. Iam on 180mg of lasix every day and 35mg og HCTZ. have fun all its a bumpy ride.

  • What can you use if prednisone does not work. How long can you safely use it.Grandaughter has been on it since April and is now on mega doses in hospital. Will an ultra-sound or M.R.I. show more about the kidney, if biopsy does not show anything? Please answer if you can!! Emelia from Canada.

  • i used prednisone, as a youth, and now my knees are shot. i finally took cytoxin, in 10th grade, and i haven't been sick since. (1991)

  • hmm.....yeah nephrotic syndrome suck. rite now i am actually in renal failure, and everything is getting worse. solu-medrol treatments suck too. lol hoep were all ok at least. lets try to live another day

  • ok When I was 3 I was diagnosed with Idiopathec (mispelled) Nephrotic syndrome. I was treated at Duke for the longest time going in and out of renal failure and lots of changes of meds. When I turned 11 I was told I progressed into FSGS Nephrotic Syndrome. Around that time thought my body got bttr and I got "healthy" you could say. But when I turned 15 I started spilling protein again. 6 months l8r my protein is off the charts. If it is suppost to go away in ur teens.....when does it go away?

  • hope god help as all who have a nephrotic syndrome.its a thing that you dont know if when or will u be going to be ok agian.i have it too and i just have my biopsy a few days ago and yet i dont know the result.how i wish i could b ok at this time couz i dont want to take that "corticosteroids" any more couz that med is really not cute at all.my dr. told me that it takes time of medication b4 nephrotic syndrome will be gone then how many more years will i need to add my 4 years?

  • Very Informative, thank-you.

  • my son was treated with with human albumin serum and later prednisone

  • My son is also diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome, when he was 1 year old, then after 2 years it came back again, now he's 7 years old, will there be chance that this syndrome will come back again?

  • for me, it went into remission every time i medicated with prednisone...but returned every time i got sick. (or a bad cold)
