Fucking incredible. I miss when rappers still used the term "emcee." Rap like this was the best. Back when they filled up their songs with the coolest poetic tricks, alliteration, assonance (2:06 to 2:11?), metaphors, all that. Now, if you rhyme two words to a generic synthesized beat (the more electric snare, the better), you can be a big time rapper.
Aside from it being a classic, do yall hear the lyrics? Amazing stuff. Still give the cats out today a run for the best material. 1 of Top 5 of all time.
Ho Shitt, i like to see these new rappers rap as fast & make sense like in Big Daddy Kanes first verse. This was real Hophop, & Rap. Its all changing now & would never be like it used to be. The new rappers aint got nothing on the old school rap gods like Big daddy kane, Slick Rick, Rakim, Kool G Rap, & Guru.
I will FOREVER be a BDK fan, no junkie! No lyricist (Blackthought, Common, Nas) can fuck w/ the Daddy Kane. He will FOREVER be the Father of these cats on the Mic.
"cause ya tried to juice me when ya bluffin', slowed the pace so I had to start rushin.."

You know kane was that dude,he is one of the greats, but please don't speak this brother's name in the same sentence with,The God rakim,he"s beyond most people's comprehension, one of the only rappers, whose rhymes co-insided with his topics..Parables,metaphors,give the God his props..don't believe me go to any song, and just listen....Lol
the fact that every class hip hop video i come across on utube is full of people shouting down soulja boy and wayne speaks volumes. Respect you people, hip hop done changed but keep repping the good shit

Rakim also borrowed from him man. Both Kane's speedy delivery, and his habit of rhyming in a different rhythm that complements the beat instead of just rhyming directly to the beat (which frees up your flow). I know Rakim didn't quite get his do back in the day but now people are just overdoing it. Both Kane and Rakim contributed alot to making Hip Hop what it is.
