That was really cool, what was even cooler is the next track on the c.d. after that is 3 speed and so my player played that as soon as the other song was over and it synced up with the credits perfectly. Great job man.
I'll be sure to look it up. I'm actually an aspiring film maker myself, I don't have a movie camera but I use to make movies with my webcam, and in high is where I really learned I wanted to direct and write. I took t.v. production and it just felt naturaly to me. I hope to get my g.e.d. very soon and go to a film school down here in florida as soon as possible.
I sent an email to EELS on your behalf, asking their position on these situations. The response follows:
"We have no problem with this. The song was removed by UMG Publishing, not EELS. If it's any consolation, UMG has even placed claims and put external embedding restrictions on our own videos we've posted on our YouTube page. You wouldn't believe what we've had to go through just to post our own videos."
"UMG Publishing has a legal and technological arrangement with YouTube that allows them to scan YouTube for copyright violations and place claims on any video they find using music or video they own/publish. "
"While the person who made this video is not using it for commercial purposes, YouTube is a commercial entity and derives income based on advertising revenue generated by traffic on the site. The traffic on the site is driven by the audio and video content they host, so UMG has a legal right to remove music for which they own publishing rights."
Wow. Thanks for the look into it. That's insanity that they would have trouble posting their own videos. Anyway, I hope you can enjoy it synched up, maybe someday I'll get it online in its true form.
So this is about the American group EELS lead by Mark Everett? I'm hearing some sort of classical music here... I was kinda expecting to hear My Descent Into Madness :P ...Did the record company get pissed off or something?
Anyway a very professional video! I'll play the track over it instead :D

Thanks! Check it out on Vimeo, if you'd like to see it synced up. And better quality. Glad you enjoyed it!

I think you really captured the feeling of the song, kind of a secret instanity, caused by mundane or boredem. Are you still in film school?

Yeah, just started my junior year. More of my stuff can be found under the name nedison, if you're interested...

Spot on. All I want to do is spread the EELS around, but they won't let it be so. Feel free to sync the song up! It will match!

Not bad, man. Maybe I'm just crazy, but at 3:01 you looked vaguely like Thom Yorke.

Excellent work! Very impressive! YouTube needs more fan-made videos that aren't just a bunch of anime crap spliced together.
