  • Fantastic ;) What strings do you use?

  • Is this normal tuning or dop D tuning?

  • I remember when people couldn't stop commenting on how talented you are for such a young age and now you're saying the same about Sungha. Behold the circle of life. :-) You da man Phil.

  • music and video are fantastic

  • incredible

  • I'm not gonna lie,.. I LOVE this! ;)

  • Hi, great music! But in the future could you use a little less "flickering" shots in the vid, cause it's makes watching, though the music is great, less pleasent.

  • Hey, I have a question. How do you record and what programs do you use to add reverb and stuff? And what microphone?

Please respond! I think you are great! I really think you don't get enough views.. :(

    Rigo

  • @BrokenFingersProduct

I'm using an' Apogee one' mic into Logic express for mac and adding a bit of reverb. I find it hard to get a good sound as well!

    Cheers,

    Phil

  • @Pkw101 Okee, thank you very much =). I use logic in my school but I don't own a mac yet...

    So that's to bad.

    Rigo

  • Excellent !!!!

  • where I can get the figure or tablature of this song?

    thanks

  • Apogee ONE? I have that soundcard, I love it but I do wish it was as sturdy as the duet.

  • Good to see your post. and I like Sungha too. Take care from Earl and Thank you

  • Bout time you put up man, nice arrangement buddy, sound great.

  • cn i get this tab anywhere?

  • Masterfully done, Phil! You may not post often, but when you pop up in my subs, I know it'll be a video well worth watching.

And yes, Sungha is absolutely amazing. Watching him playing now, one on one with Tommy, just blows me away.

  • Phil, another awesome job! Yes... two in one week... you're gonna' spoil us now.

  • Hi Phil! Nice to see you playing again! Great playing!!

  • Nice playing and I love this arrangement man! =)

  • @LarsGuitars92

Cheers Lars! How's the playing going?. Your video with Tommy is tasty!

  • Phil, I met Sungha in person last week, and he's really a great performer and very, very modest. He's still amazed (after all that's happened) at the stir he's caused. However, although he's developed a huge repetoire, I actually like your playing better. Your timing is more precise and I think you give it more personality. Ever since I first discovered you playing The Entertainer a few years ago, I've eagerly awaited your next video. Too bad they're so few and far between!

  • @ProFriend

I hope to see Sungha play one day soon. He is such a talent! Thanks for sticking with me even though I've been rubbish with frequency of uploads. Although that's starting to change hopefully! (2 within a week, must be a first...)

  • @Pkw101 Hey Phil! Still waiting for some more uploads!! lol Would love to see how you've progressed.

  • @Pkw101 Sungha played this song when he was so jung, but now he is in your age i think :)

    PS. great playing :)

  • @91karol Sungha is 13 now (14 in Korean years since they count by the year of life, i.e. "1st year, 2nd year" etc.), a bit younger than Phil.

  • Great man, nice flow!

  • You are one of the best guitar players on youtube. I personally prefer the videos without the camera jumping around, but this one is still a treat (like they all are). Thanks.

  • dude....you are like a Tommy Emmanuel junior! nice harmonics

I really like how you did the different angles with the camera...how did you do that?

you are way better than me.....but, just one little advice.....possibly look up every now and then?? Outstanding job though!

  • @tdo813 Thanks mate, glad you liked it!

Yeah I totally agree that I need to look up more. I normally do when practising but when a camera is pointing at me I seem to just stare at the neck and try not to make a mistake!

  • great job! i enjoyed this a lot!

i wish i could play like you too

  • This is wonderful! Brilliantly played!

  • that camera work is a distraction

  • @expostfactum

Seeing as it was only a short piece I tried to make it interesting and in time with the music. However I take on board you point. Might have got a bit carried away!

  • @Pkw101 Your playing is really fantastic...you dont need any fancy camera work to accent it. I saw you play back in 2007 in Windsor at a Tommy festival. I spoke to you and your Dad. You have really taken your playing to a new level.

  • @expostfactum Ah I remember, you were over from the USA weren't you? I'm embarrassed, I was a bit rubbish at that TommyFest I seem to remember...

Really enjoying my guitar playing at the moment. Got lots of tunes I want to put up :)

    Thanks again.

  • @Pkw101 Texas...im from Texas.....and dont worry, you were pretty good then too, so dont fret.

  • brilliant man!

  • @garrethdavis

    Cheers Man!

  • @Pkw101 no problemo!

  • YEAHHH!!! I need to learn this song. It's so cool. But just stop to change camera view. It's decentralizing my attention. Keep it up:)

  • This is the best cover of this song on youtube;)

  • great

  • Phil:

In a world where jealousy and hate are all too common, it is refreshing to see and hear a young musician who is secure, honest, and generous enough to openly admire and respect a peer.

Sungha should be grateful for your praise, since it comes from someone who is genuinely qualified to hold an opinion. Every one of your videos is on a professional level in my opinion. And your recording of 'Pirates of the Caribbean' is if anything an improvement on Sungha's.

  • @foxygranpa6

He is truly a great player. I have nothing on Sungha!

  • Indeed Very GOOOD! =)

  • Very good!
