  • The hat should have a propeller on top...

  • Wow! what are you playing at 3:06??

  • Man you play great, but you look my neighbor. I'd lose the cap and khakys, then pick up the guitar.

  • @PeteyD1000 Jees man, He wasn't making a fashion show :) ...and I don't want to see him without pants and a hat either...what should he be wearing to keep you happy......

  • Damn, that is sweet. Really nice technique there.

  • man he wants ta be rory gallager.its too clean man.

  • Fantastic amp! I built a 18w clone my self. One tone one volum, but so much sound!

    Check it out: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/watch?v=HpWVq4jF_zA

Its the little one on the drumraiser through a marshall cab with greenbackers.

  • Excellent playing. I really enjoy your videos. I've been playing for 35 years (3 time major label recording artist) and it's nice that I can still learn plenty from guys like you! Thanks.

  • that sound perfect! you got the right gear and more than enough talent, good job!

  • I thought you'd be playing basic chords with your nerdy look. Man, you can really lay it down !

  • Ah, why i love strats

  • nice playing!

  • this guy sure can play!

  • That's how a strat should sound!

I like the way the amp has almost a bit of Blackface Fender in it, sounds a bit brighter than a normal 18w kind. Great tones!

  • nice tone bro! very nice playing :)

  • great sound as always

all your posts are really good.

    Thanks!!!

  • forest gump shredding! just kiddin man, great sound and great chops.

  • mama always said sometimes ya gotta just shred.

  • Thats an amazing sounding amp. Sounds very sensitive to pick attack. Check out my 5 watt hand built amp in the video responses.

  • Cool sound and tasteful playing man!

Can someone tell me please, if a 18w 16ohm head is compatible with a 70w 1x12" 16ohm cabinet?

    Thanks and rock on!

  • yes

  • Definatly compatible man.

and it also sounds like a good combo, you should try it out! And for the future, try to remeber that you want to match the impedance (ohms) , and as far as watts go you just dont want the head (amp) to have more than your speaker(s) can handle. It will still work, but there will be a risk of damaging the speakers...

  • Thanks very much man!

  • You're Very Welcome!

    Happy Jamming!

  • loos like ur haven a good time ,keep jammin buddy!!!

  • that head is tiny,,,,,,,,I don't kno where you would find a 50 watt head smaller than that

  • Krank Rev Jr Pro ???

Dunno if it would work for what you want it for

  • Fantastic playing, great feel! Amazing sounding amp.

  • Hey I am thinking about getting this awsome amp. What kind of cab can you run with it? Like what ohms.

  • Wooooh do Hendrix 8D

  • great player, amazing tone. both amp and guitar are stunning!

  • I like how each setting on the guitar brings out different tones on the amp. sweet.

    joe...

    btw: great playing

  • Engelskan kändes lite skandinavisk sen såg jag kepsen =) Fin rörblues!!

  • Nice vids!! great playing!! i basically would love to be able to play all that stuff!!

  • I checked out these mack amps and they seem really great. I love their philosophy! Great tone without the bells and whistles. I have been looking for a killer amp to maybe set my sights on, and it might be made by Mack. Nice demo!

  • Looks like a deluxe player's strat to me, is that right?

  • That is correct.

  • Sweet deal, dude. I have one of them too

  • shreddin it

  • Found these your videos while searching for Emi Wizard related stuff.

I will definitely check these speakers out.

Really good tones! Your playing is also top notch!

  • The hat is awesome.the guitar is ok too :P

  • What a wizard !!!

  • What is this rumor about letting your tubes warm up? How long do you wait for it or do you just turn it on and jam? There is a lot of say that it will burn your tubes out faster or something.

  • An amp with a standby switch allows you to let the tubes warm up before supplying full voltage to them. Mesa and Marshall recommend at least 30 sec before switching on the amp. Most suggest 2 min. I always warm the amp for a few minutes before playing and even more when playing loud. Also, make sure to let the tubes cool down in standby for a minute after playing especially after a loud set! It extends the life of the tubes, prevents premature failure and is useful when swappin guitars and cabs!

  • thanks! i'll let it warm up for like 1 to 3 just to make sure haha.

  • the guy below me is pretty much right. an amp haed with a stand by switch lets ur tubes get hott, it wont burn them out but a solid state amp you cant get the sound you can from a tube a tube amp when the tubes get hott the sound is just outstanding, such as a mesa solo head my cousin has a mesa single solo rectifeir head with a marshal cab, and when the tubes get hott it sounds so good.

  • yeah i love the strat sound you get on it, i use an ulbrick amp not sure if you know about them but it has great tone. what pick ups are you using in your strat? is it an alder body?

  • Alder body, Fender Vintage Noiseless pickups.

  • such a great tone mate and nice playin too. do you get a lot of head room out of the amp? is that a 4x10 quad box?

  • Thanks very much! It's got plenty of headroom actually. See my other Heatseeker demo, where I play it full volume at the end. It's got 2 EL84 tubes and the cab is a 2x12 with Eminence Wizards.

  • wonderful tone, and great playin, sounds better than brad paiselys amps, for sure, i aint a country music fan that much, but it reminded me of his tone, your is better, now how about some blackmore or hendrix,,

  • Thanks, I appreciate hearing that!

  • Great tone.

  • When I grow up I want to make those cute sounds too, you're really good

  • how much was that amp and cab?

  • Can't even remember... the cab I got used and the head is from mackamps dot c o m - go have a look.

  • Hi there wich pickups do you have on that great strat, nice tone and the amp is amazing ...

  • Thanks! It's got Fender Vintage Noiseless pickups.

  • Nice playing!

What would you say the limits of the amp are in terms of volume? Would I need a higher watt amp for gigs?

  • Thanks! It's plenty loud. I don't have any trouble playing with a loud drummer.

  • Nice playing. Good sounds from the amp too. I also have a Squier Tele and wish my dodgy fingers could make it sound as good as yours. I got a 5 watt tube amp on the way, so all I need now is some tube fingers. Thanks for the inspiration.

  • Thanks!

  • Real nice sounds. Very nice playing! The amp definitely complements your style--clean with just a bit of edge when you dig in. Keep it up!

  • Thank you!

  • Really nice playing!

  • Gracias!

  • Nice amp rotren, and for the record I like your hat too. Rock on.

  • Merci - I needed to hear that about the hat!

  • A weird hat - guess its a security blanket used to cover a bald dome

  • Hey nice tasty SRV blues licks mate! Good stuff. Is that a 2x12 or 4x10?

  • 2x12

  • beach ball pattern cap = dead give away for an undercover baldy replacing dwindling hair with cotton cap

  • So true.

  • wait till you start losing your hair ;)

  • OMG Someone Has Hacked My Account I DID NOT SAY That I Think it was CRAZYBOYCARLOS take it out on him

  • dude, that sounds awesome.

  • Thanks... I think?

  • nice cap :D

    great playing too :)

  • whoa that's so clean!! amazing tone you got going there!

  • What is the guitar, what strings (brand, gauge), what pickups? Also, is that recorded direct from amp or from mic'd speaker (if so, what cab & speaker(s)? Sounds great! Thanks.

  • Fender Deluxe Players Strat, with Vintage Noiseless pickups. Strings are 09-42 cheap strings. The speaker cab in an Avatar with 2 Eminence Wizards. It's recorded via the video camera microphone only. Thanks EVERYONE for your nice comments!

  • ohh i have the same guitar but i changed the pickups to he seymour duncan hot rails and i run it through a boss ns-2. the trings that were on there sucked.

  • i have the same guitar but i switched the pickups to seymour duncan hot rail pickups. the strings that were originally on there sucked so i put on dr extra life strings 11-50.

  • Sound great. I suspect you'd sound great through a $10 noname craigslist special. You need to do a comparison with a junker otherwise I'll just assume its all you :)

  • thats insainly clean, and every string rings out realy nicely, a very nice amp.

  • very veeeery good !!!

    ComplimentS !

  • This amp sounds grrreat! And by the way, your playing is awesome. I'd call myself already quite good, but there is still a lot I could learn from you. Good video, thx...

  • You sound exactly like people should when testing out an amp... like at my local shop... Question: have you ever taken any classes in the past and if so how long?

  • Classes? Yes, I have taken a music theory class, which was very valuable. It was 5-6 lessons in total. I have taken one guitar teacher lesson ever.

  • Excellent tone and playing...enjoyed this vid!

  • Oh man, this is how i strive to play, blues and jazz and as influences in rock too, with this kindof feeling and proficiency. I don't think i'll ever get as good as you :(.

  • Nice dude

  • your great at guitar man

    great amp!

  • What's the deal with tube amps supposedly being so much better than solid state?

  • tube amps in most peoples opinion (and mine) sound better than solid state.

  • try turn a solid state up loud and youll just just get fuzz, valve amps sound better when turned up and get tht class crunch sound

  • I bet you get all the girls, eh?

  • Fo sho, man! With my Swedish hat and kaki pants and general nerdy look, I can't get them off of me!

  • sounds similar to the epi valve jr. or the blackheart but probably better

  • sounds like carlton from the fresh prince. uhm by the way 1 AWESOME 2 i play guitar too and have problems with improvising... i would say im a pretty good player and now its the time do do something on my own. heres the question: how do u know how a it sounds before u play it. is there a trick or something good to practise. PLEASE HELP ME!!! THX

  • learn scales, arpeggios, pick out some lead stuff from guitar albums, etc. Having a guitar teacher is the best way to learn what to practice.

  • haha.

  • what song is that? it starts at 3:06?

  • It's just my own little song... is it good?

  • i love it. you should make another video on how to play it

  • I checked out Mack Amps website. I want to sell all my large 4x12 cabs and 100 watt heads and stuff to buy a more verstile small club rig. This looks like it may be the ticket. May I ask if you considered using the closed back 1x12 cab they recommend on the website as the perfect match? Is your cab open backed?

  • Thanks!

I already had an Avatar cab. I upgraded the speakers in it to Eminence Wizards. It's a closed back cab. Since I already had the cabinet, I didn't consider the Mack cab, but I'm sure it's a good one.

  • what part of a tube amp makes them so expensive? the transformers?

  • also why are they so damn heavy?

  • valves need a lot of transformers and transformers are heavy

  • thanks.

  • got respect for you men. guitar in your hand is baby in mama's arm ;-)

  • Love the tone. Great playing by the way :)

  • hey i was thinking about buying one of those deluxe players strats, but dont they have that little button by the tone knobs? Whats that for 5/5

  • Yes it does. It comes with a push-button switch that activates the bridge pickup in positions 4 and 5 of blade switch for 7 pickup configurations.

  • what is a tube amp?

  • A tube amp uses vacuum tubes to produce the sound as opposed to a solid state amp, which uses transistors. Tube amps are known for sounding more organic, and have a lot more warmth. I personally believe solid state hardly cuts it anymore, but I'm not completely opposed to it.

  • what amp settings u using? u think that works with an epiphone sg too, if i have the right fuzz?

  • This amp is so simple - just a tone knob, a gain switch and volume. I left the tone at 12 o'clock and just turned up the sucker.

Yes, it would sound wicked with an SG.

  • yes i saw that, but i mean in ur other videos, what are ur most used settings?

  • I don't really have any most used settings. I just plug and play. I use an SD-9 or similar overdrive/distortion pedal and some delay but I have many pedals I play around with.

  • wow i just love that dynamic drive. just bought a tube amp myself today, and i will be running through an avatar cab.

  • Very nice amp. But what guitar are you using? A standard fender strat?

  • A Fender Deluxe Players Strat. Thanks!

  • So, you like those Em's huh? Guess you wanted that Fendery sound. I just HATE the eminence speakers in my Fender Hot Rod Deville (10's).

  • nice playing dude! What advice can you give me on improving my vibrato to have the strength yours does? It's especially hard for me on bends... Thanks

  • Thanks! Find the right string gauge that fits your fingers strength. Then practice bending and bending + vibrato every day. Eventually you'll get stronger and gain more control.

  • nice hat!

  • have you had any problems with your avatar cab? i am thinking about getting one. no one can beat their prices, i just dont know how reliable they are

  • Nope, no problems at all.

  • Ok :)

  • Are you swedish?! Your english is amazing :S

  • Yes I am Swedish, but I live in Canada.

  • Tackar! Jo, ibland lirar jag med ett band.

  • lol i love that cap.

  • I bought one of these recently.... They're real good.

  • Nice, the sound reminds me of a Dr Z.

  • is it expensive? looks like it costs quite a bit

  • 3 words: SICK AS HELL

  • I am just amazed that is one sweet sound

  • What device would give all the effects I need. I have a washburn and a Nashvile amp. Please email me back

  • sounds sweet man how much they run for ?

  • a bit of superstition in there nice!

  • You always have nice tone, and it keeps getting nicer D:

Hey, did you put that new neck on yourself?

I'm thinking of sticking a total vintage warmoth neck onto my MIM Robert Cray.

  • Thank you :)

Yes, I put the neck on myself. It fit perfectly.

  • Cool. I think I'll get the new neck, put I'll have somebody else do it for me. I tried to put the old neck back on and I kinda made the neck plate go to the side xD

  • Very nice as always.
