you cannot make an account there....if you go to the school/college which has partenered with msdn academic alliance, then your account is already set up automatically...you just enter your student id and password and you will be able to get there and download for free.

Else theres no other way...im sorry! :)

Actually, you left out three very popular versions of Windows--3.0, 3.1 and 3.11 for workgroups that were very popular prior to Win95. There were Windows 1.0, 2.0, and 2.1*, as well.

As far as the school link goes you will have to be enrolled in a specific course or degree to gain access to the software, of which there are few offering it.
