@jeffhegarty "Roslin Castle" is the name of the tune and it was used as a funeral march as early as the 17th century in Scotland England and later US. The official duty called for a dirge to be played marching into the cemetery and a quick march to be played on the way out. As I recall we marched out to "Merry Men Home from the Grave" ca 1861.

To say that the Southern cause was illegitimate because of slavery, then one must be consistent and concur that the U.S Revolution of 1776 was illegitimate because they too at the time had slaves, and viewed them as the property they didn't want taxed without representation. The south wanted to be independent from the Federal Government. It was a Just cause. A just causes might be lost on the battle field, but never in the arena of ideas!

proud of what your grandpa did?...hell he didnt do shit but tried to keep human beings in slavery. you say that the civil war had nothing to do with slavery? but states rights?...hell any ole jack ass knows that states rights is just a cover for the continuation of slavery cause for the south they both go hand in hand
No you are the jackass and States' Rights inst a cover for anything of the sort!
Does it make you feel proud to go out of your way to criticize people who honor the dead just because you have no self esteem or human compassion in your heart?
These men in the video were Union soldiers and my ancestor a Confederate soldier, but I would honor their memories because they choose to volunteer and fight. Any veteran deserves respect!
i had ancestors on both sides one of them might have shot stonewall jackson because he was in the regiment jackson was visiting when he was killed i don't know anything about my union ancestor though. I agree with you all veteran deserve respect no matter what their faults because there are people out there that love them for what they have done
I never said that the war had nothing to do with slavery you ignorant pissant. The fact is slavery had as much to do with it as abortion ultimately has to do with the fight between liberals and conservatives...in short very damn little.
States Rights is about the 10th Ammendment to the US Constitution. It means that aside from what the States give the Federal Government in the first nine, it has no other business getting involved in local governments. END OF STORY!
Great Video! I truly believe they would have been proud.
