I discovered her when I was going to a Dan Fogelberg concert some time around 1990 in Columbus Ohio. Her music was playing over the PA pre-concert. She was mostly unknown then, but my sister from Colorado knew who she was. I bought Steady On, and have been a true fan since...just like I have loved Dan's music since 1974...Bitter sweet memories...
I like this song. This feeling is sometime so right and she is singing so well. A touch of guitar as the music of the sadness. Good song and great singer. That makes me remain that i have to go out when i get the blues. I discover shawn colvin with the net. Not wellknown in France but we can find her albums in cd shops.

Saw her for the first time this weekend on the three girls tour and left a Shawn Colvin fan. Emmylou Harris, Patty Griffin, Shawn Colvin and Buddy Miller on the same stage with just their guitars. You can't get more talent than that on one stage at the same time.

I just saw her with John Hiatt at Red Bank and she was great. Love her guitar playing and voice and admire her talent. She plays a Martin guitar like me so she knows what is good down to her instrument.
Thats one of the reasons she is so good- She is absolutely connected to the lyrics, to the guitar..Like she is embracing the music in all it's colors..
This is one of those songs that seems like it was just sitting there for one of the greats (Dylan Mitchell whoever) to grab from the muse and it went through Shawn Colvin. It's a classic timeless song. I really hope she doesn't take another 5 year break between CDs. If the songs are coming this good start pounding them out girl. Dang. Again how much bad or good could you ever say about an artist of this caliber. She's the icon of three post Mitchell generations. Awesome.

I discovered her when I was going to a Dan Fogelberg concert some time around 1990 in Columbus Ohio. Her music was playing over the PA pre-concert. She was mostly unknown then, but my sister from Colorado knew who she was. I bought Steady On, and have been a true fan since...just like I have loved Dan's music since 1974...Bitter sweet memories...

I like this song. This feeling is sometime so right and she is singing so well. A touch of guitar as the music of the sadness. Good song and great singer. That makes me remain that i have to go out when i get the blues. I discover shawn colvin with the net. Not wellknown in France but we can find her albums in cd shops.

I'm glad you like her and I just wish she would be played more on stations here also. I didn't discover her until a few years ago and I love the way she sings and plays her Martin. Love her.

Her song "Nothing on me" was used as the title for the sitcom "Suddenly Susan" (with Brooke Shields); very funny one, btw.

Saw her for the first time this weekend on the three girls tour and left a Shawn Colvin fan. Emmylou Harris, Patty Griffin, Shawn Colvin and Buddy Miller on the same stage with just their guitars. You can't get more talent than that on one stage at the same time.

I just saw her with John Hiatt at Red Bank and she was great. Love her guitar playing and voice and admire her talent. She plays a Martin guitar like me so she knows what is good down to her instrument.

This is one of those songs that seems like it was just sitting there for one of the greats (Dylan Mitchell whoever) to grab from the muse and it went through Shawn Colvin. It's a classic timeless song. I really hope she doesn't take another 5 year break between CDs. If the songs are coming this good start pounding them out girl. Dang. Again how much bad or good could you ever say about an artist of this caliber. She's the icon of three post Mitchell generations. Awesome.
