i did it with a normal digital camera, a gorrillapod and some duct tape. a gorrilla pod is like a tripod but it has bendy legs, so i just wrapped them around my frame, put on plenty of duct tape and hoped for the best. i was pretty lucky it didnt come off, if it had it would have been an expensive video!
@phoeneous Luckily it doesn't really matter as the tire should not be moving anywhere near the arch, if it does then something is wrong and that small clearance is the least of your worries.
i've had a pair of reba SL's (07 i think?) for a couple of years now, and am only looking on google for them as the bushings inside the fork are well worn!
anyway advice to setting them up, make sure your - pressure is the same as your + otherwise you get some nasty bump kicks, which makes achy wrists. they are a very smooth fork and excellent VFM hence why i'm buying some new bushings for them not a new set of forks and ebaying these.. i run these on a santacruz SL and they're bit short
The Reba is a great fork!! I highly recommend it. I have two of them and find them to be perfect, much easier to adjust than my Marzocchi Marathon! Also,I recommend having a bike shop fit your bike with the fork and headset. When pulling an old headset out and puting a new one in,you need to press it in the headtube very carefully because you can crack it. Also, with a new fork, you have to press a fitted washer known as the Race onto the fork,so that the headset bearings fit the fork properly.
I am suprised at the clearance with those tyres! That can't be right can it? I am planning to upgrade the Rockshox Pilot C's on my trek 4900 to revelations but I think I might have to change my headset, because i am having some major headset wobble problems, and i think the bearings have probably gone aswell, because the handlebars dont turn as smoothly as they should! Any Ideas?? How do you fit the forks?
i don't know much about headsets because i have never fitted one, i have had my for over 2 years now and i havent had any problems and i have probably done almost 2000 miles. i fitted my forks pretty easily i just took the old ones off and put the new ones on. The tyre clearance may be quite close but they do not rub the bridge so it hasn't caused any problems. if you are going to change your headset i would reccommend getting a local bike shop to do it for you.
i would go for it, i went from rubbish coil rst's that came with my hardrock to reba's and the difference is amazing i can ride stuff more faster now. they are pretty easy to put on aswell it didnt take me long, getting the right pressures takes a bit though be prepare to tweak for a bit, but once they are set up right they are amazing. i use completely different settings compared to what is recommend. They are also alot lighter than my old forks at about 1600grams.
i boutght one last night, the one thing is that it just said it was 100mm travel. but both versions are capable of 100 with different spacers. do you know any way to tell weither i have the 85-115 or the 80-100 without riping it apart and seeing the spacer arangment?
Get them! Ive got air sprung team u-turns and they are just perfect, they do everything you want them to do, reliable, light and they perform great...don't have the seal problem that the fox forx have either!
finally a video where all the travel is used.
that is what ppl are looking for, to see the entire travel at work.
good luck, ill be having the 2012 model soon too.

That looks like it's set to really soft
You should make it harder if your using it off road

Dude that tire is about a milimeter away from the arch wtf?
phoeneous 2 years ago
yeah the tire clearance was pretty slim, it fitted just. i recently got new wheels (shimano xts), and the clearance is a bit better.
AngusCrake 2 years ago
@AngusCrake Um. If you used the same tires, the bridge clearance was identical, regardless of the type of wheel used.

@hagenar
not so much. if the rims wider itll spread the tyre out further makin the tyre not so tall ;)
