The g8 GT is not really a Pontiac. It is a Holden Commodore from Australia. A car with years of racing heritage. This latest example which is sold internationally rides on a state of the art platform. Anyone that thinks this car is junk either:

You're comparing this to a Grand Am? Oh please! Grand Am's had 4 cylinders that didn't achieve 200hp. Even in turbo form. There are 4 cylinders now making close to 300hp. So what makes you think the they're even in the same league as the G8, and it doesn't have to be the GT. The base makes 256. G8 looks better too, more Euro. Grand Am is dated.
grand am gt has a v6 making 170hp. my 2002 galant es is a 4cyl making 205hp and it beats my friends grand am gt in a race. my other friend has a 09 g8 gt which smokes them both. but anyways.....the g6 was the grand am's replacement. and the g8 was the grand prix's replacement.
@jodl73 all the gt's were v6 they had the 3.4 with the ram air kit some of the grand am se's had the 3.4 also but yea a majority was the 2.4 twin cam (ld9 motor) which i have in my sunfire gt also and i like it very quick but mine has 2 mild cams in it
Turn off the traction control, put it in manual mode, make sure it's in first gear, mash the gas and brake & then ease off on the brake a bit & she should light up quite nice!

Or just turn the trac control off and have at it, if your in a hurry to rip a burnout real quick..
I love how the trac control is totally defeatable by the push of one little button.

I just got my G8 Gt I wish I knew how to burn out like that! Its tuff with 4 wheel disc break or I'm not doing it right,lol.
