The only thing God ever wanted from us is to love one another, help those in need, forgive those who wronged you, not to judge others. This is the true gosple of Jesus. God is looking for a meek heart. So you ask why then did Jesus died on the cross...the answer to that is, He did not just died for our sins He also told us what to do to earn eternal life...we are defiled by what we say and do!!
It seems to me that if the Bible acknowledges divisions exist, then we can conclude that it`s not a good thing but it`s something that happens b/c as humans we rub each other wrong from time to time or we look at things differently, but what the Bible is saying is fix the division don`t let it widen or remain unrepaired. 30,000 denominations in the US alone! Amazing!

Its not hard to tell what God meant cause its in black and white. The biggest problem comes from those who take scriptures or portions of it out of context.

All churches together? Ecumenicalism? I dont agree w/ that either. The bible clearly states all who believe, do the will of the Father, & are called out from the world, are under the head who is Jesus Christ = one body.
Its NOT a 'one world religion' which is false, but being obedient to God & His word (a remnant of believers as seen thru out the OT & NT).
With Revelations We know that there is going to be a 1 world Gov/Religion and christians will be prosecuted.. and to be honest there are alot hypocrites on youtube who claim to believe in GOD, But when I show them a verse in the Bible that shows that they are wrong about something , they Block me and delete my comments.
If people hold more dearly to their denominational beliefs & wont talk & be obedient to God or w/ those of other 'denominations', then that is not what God instituted as His "church".
37,000+ denominations is not what God established - cant find it anywhere in the bible, but God does hate factions (Gal 5:19-21 & 1 Cor 11:18-20).

I keep wanting to say "man, we both are followers of Christ, Can't we find some common ground and love each other?" Many can, many can't. So any definition other than what is found in the bible is not assured of the same lastingness. IOW outside definitions are more prone to error. Thats why its so important to go by the bible, because we do know it will last forever.
see, catholic doctrine is based off of the bible. the councils, through hard study and such, find some things to mean different things than they seemed to mean, but not the exact opposite of what they meant. so, the catholic church is following the bible. and might i ad that the catholic churches bible has 7 books that the kjv does not have. but during the reformation,led by martin luther, they were removed.

well I think in the end times, there will be 1 core of believers who all believe in the same thing. Albeit they will be the minority.

actually there're over 33,700 denominations (yea its pretty sad I know).
Question is "How does the BIBLE define 'church'?" If anyone strays from that basic definition then it can only lead to big problems later on.
Can you tell me how the bible defines "church" and back it up with just scripture?
