  • good job bud/ and your using a great bass nothin has great lows and mids like a warwick

  • Thanks for the comment my friend, and I couldn't agree with you more on the Warwick. It is an awesome bass. Thanks for stopping by. Keep rockin' :)

  • very good job, and great groove you got. i like your tone also.

the only thing i'd like to suggest you, is to not overlapping notes in arpeggios, like you would do on guitar chords. always keep notes as individuals. excuse my pickyness but that's the only thing that keeps your RIO version from perfection ;) congrats, man.

  • Thanks for the comments and advice, I appreciate it. Keep rockin', always. :)

  • This song is best played with just the bridge pickup only and the treble rolled off a bit. Throw in some mid-range and you've got it.

  • Thanks for the tip, I'll give that a try next time I play it. Keep rockin', and thanks for stopping by. :)

  • I was just about to say that but you beat me to it........

  • Yes it is, although, it's been a while since I have played it I am not sure if I remember how? :) Keep rockin'

  • Pretty good! I especially like the tone you were using =)

  • wow this is amazing I wish I could learn to play the bass, then I could be just like John and play all of DD's songs, except I would be a girl, lol

  • Well, thanks for the comment Mrs. John Taylor! ;) And you could learn to play the bass, and there is nothing wrong with being a girl...there are awesome girl bassist's. Thanks for stopping by. ;)

  • There seems to be a deep love of the bass part of this song.

  • Yes, there does. I loved the bass part since it came out, although, I don't do the song justice. Listen to the original by Duran Duran it rocks. Thanks for stopping by my friend. ;)

  • Thanks for the comment my friend. I am playing a Warwick Corvette (active) here. Keep rockin' ;)

  • Bass tone is fantasic, really good playing and great technique! Do you plug your bass into you pc with a type of lead and do it through cubase ? I am looking to do it that way to record my covers. Keep up the brillient playing!

  • Thanks for the kind comments. I actually use a tascam us122 which runs into the computer, but the program it records to is cubase. It's just the basic cubase which came with the us122. Keep rockin' my friend. ;)

  • Really good work! Keep it up! The bass sounds really wonderful as opposed to what you say. Also, may I add that your finger technique is really special even though you are playing walking bass lines.

  • Thank you for the comment my friend, and nice bass playing as well. I love The Cure. Keep rockin' my friend. :)

  • Very very very nice!

  • Thank you for the comment my friend, and thanks for stopping by. Keep rockin' :)

  • Thanks for the comments my friend. Keep rockin' :)

  • good

  • Thank you my friend.

  • brilliant mate

  • Thank you for the comment my friend.

  • What kinda amps/cabs do you use? I dig your tone...

  • Actually here I am using a Tascam us122 directly into a laptop w/ cubase as software. So no amp is used here.

  • Thanks for the comments. I hope you have fun and learn this bassline. It's one of my favorites. Keep rockin' my friend!

  • Nice playing my friend! JT would be proud of you! Great bassline, i've just bought a nice Ibenze bass and have started learning! I am lead singer in a tribute band myself but it's not a Duran tribute although i am learning this bassline because it rocks! be safe!

  • Pretty solid playing! I will try to get this song down. I like the flavor of your bass :)

    Keep rockin'

  • Thanks for the comment. And thanks for stopping by my friend, Keep rockin' :)

  • THIS IS SOOOO GOOD! well done mate! wish i could play that! any chance you can give the notes? i wanna try transpose it a couple of octaves so i could maybe play it on guitar, how long you been playing?

  • Thanks you so much for the comment. I have been playing for 10 months now. Keep rockin' my friend.

  • Brilliant playing 772. I was a little stuck on the chorus rhythm, but after watching you, I think I've got it!

  • What a beautiful, lovely bass XD.

Really cool, man. Very well played. Nice right hand - strng muting technique.

  • Thanks Pook, Coming from a Warwick man I'll take that as a compliment. :)

  • Great job, Kyle. You really do justice toan underrated bass player. John Taylor was pegged as a pretty boy and dismissed, but the man could play the bass. You're a great bass player, Kyle. Seriously. solid as a rock.

  • Thanks Rob, I really appreciate the kind words. This song just has a very cool bassline.

  • Thanks Brian, I do have a odd taste in music, so it just happens to show up here as well. I can go from Sarah Mclachlan to Mudvayne in a second. So my mistake is to try them all. :) Thanks for the comments.

  • I like how you mix it up, playing with fingers sometimes, playing with a pick the other times, playing current bands like Tool and classic bands like Duran Duran. Great job on all! Thanks for the videos.
