Chinese creativity is either vapid or nonexistent, they just simply copy everyone else's things. This looks like a T80 with a few minor inconsistencies. And to everyone saying who would win, I think it's clear the US would win because of our entire military package of intelligence, logistics, superior firepower, etc. The Chinese at this point are still like a D2 or D3 NCAA football program compared to D1 programs.
@TheSto AMERICA IS FREAKING BROKE NOW OWEING 13 TRILLION TO THE ENTIRE WORLD. I DON'T THINK THEY WILL EVER DARE TO GO TO ANOTHER WAR WITH CHINA. ESPECIALLY A COSTLY ONE.
I would not under estimate the enemies, One good reason, you have to move your force to the battle zone. It is just like a Vietnam war, where US had to move force for invasion, the proper ratio 10:1
@TheSto I hope you are joking and study more about the Type99. It's chassis is similar to that of a T72/T80 like you said, but every part about it is an indigenous design.
@TheSto funny how china never got a hold of a t80 in it's entire history. Soviets stopped providing china with military tech after the mao died. As for who wins, don't be so sure. numbers and ease of production won over superior technology in the last world war.
Sorry my friend I am an American like you we have been sold out years ago. the next war China will win because out military and political leaders want them too. They all want 1 one government ! listen to bill cooper and read the bible. But when christ comes he will kill over 200 millions China when they try to attack Isreal. Read the Bible. The Chinese government knows this! That is why it is deleted from the Chinese Bible in the book of Revelation.
@powerofthroughts As soon as the war started, we cut off trade with Japan, they were Axis, at the time we didn't want a part in WWII. The Japanese retaliated by attacking us, also, ever realize that America is Capitolist, we were willing to supply Japan at the time because it would help our economy, but when the second global conflict (WWII) began, we severed ties with them. Is there any reason to use language? NO, THIS CONVERSATION IS OVER, DEAL WITH IT, YOU COMMUNIST PIG.
@powerofthroughts we saved China in WWII from the Japanese Empire, and then this stuff happens, I don't want to go in a comment fight with you, but America never attacks first...(Iraq & Afghanistan don't count: we had a stupid Commander in Chief who didn't confirm with the people) This conversation is over as far as I see it, I don't want a flame war.
@powerofthroughts and yet in WWII we saved them, and in a ground war: yes the Chinese would win, but air power, and naval might belong to the US in comparison to China. But I don't want a war, as a matter of fact, I want the opposite. :)
every piece of Chinese PLA hardware I've seen is built to forge rivers.not oceans!that being said,I would say that China has their eye on Asian lands in siberia and wishes to distract our eyes with worthless treaties with Russia and sabor rattling at the west. please read the ART of WAR by SUN TZU.China must first settle the question of socialist dominance and their land, resource and over population issues and settling old scores with WAR against Russia would solve it all!
I do not like the Soviet-style carrousel autoloader. Instead of developing a bustle-mounted autoloader, China took the easy way out by simply acquiring the production license of T-72's autoloader.

conworldus 9 months ago
@conworldus no it's the basic Type 99 without additional armor and a 1.200 hp engine.
All Type 99 in the Chinese Army (PLA) is using the upgraded Type 99A and Type99A1.

Type 98.
Type59 1 year ago
@Type59 actually Type 99. Type 98 is a designation given by the public media NOT by the PLA.
This is the original Type 99 without any upgrade. The ones often called as Type 99 in the media
is actually the Type 99A or even the Type 99A1. Type 99A2 is already in production after the first
prototypes entered trial since 2007.
Type 99A2 is around 56 to 58 tons heavy with new chassis, new engine, new thermal scope etc.
