Sad thing is, in this society, Aubrey, gets acouple thousand views meanwhile lady gaga gets acouple million views. Now translate that to financial support and priorities of people: Not Good!
Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see, you cannot build these great ideas around shaky foundations, you need to destroy the shaky foundations and rebuild good, sturdy foundations to grow these great ideas into reality.
Sondano theres nothing selfish about wanting to stay young forever.
Everyone has the right to be healthy and live.
the goal here is to eliminate human suffering and save lives. we invest billions in cancers, disease control and other forms of ways to save peoples lives.
so why not aging? the big elephant in the room? why not clear it out if the goal is to save lives and reduce suffering!
@curingaging00 fantasy, the bottom line is money, no money no extension Everyone has the right to be healthy but rights are meaningless as it will come down to money. rich people have no desire to extend the lives of the poor
@mrboobbarker That comment that you have responded to was a simple rebuttal to someone who doesn't want this reseach to even take place. I think that this research should continue.
@mrboobbarker Like everything these therapies will start out very expensive, affordable for only the wealthy at first, but like everything, as technology progresses, their prices will come down.
Decades ago computers are only affordable for the wealthy, but look at us now... I have a computer that is hundreds of times as powerful and for a much lower cost ;)
Eventually life extension therapies will be WIDELY affordable. Just like the way cars, computers, modern medicine is.
@curingaging00 your reposne is logical, i only wonder how many of us will be left, outside of the rich elites, when the technology finally filters its way down to the average citizen.
hopefully i will be able to benifit enough from these theropies for an indefinate lifespan.
they might start out being expencive. but their prices will come down... cars/running water/plasma screen tvs were at one point very expencive when they were invented, but now they are widely affordable.
if you can pay for it and poor people can't be prepared to being killed by those poor people this would be the ultimate insult as humans -- like all other living creatures -- are 100% selfish THEY want to stay young and healthy they don't give a fuck about you and vice versa. if such technology arrived and if it wasn't available for everyone who wants it it would make its own purpose completely meaningless as human-on- human violence would become the number 1 killler instead of aging
Either you die before the first phase of the technologies come out, or the first phase of the technologies will allow you to live long enough for the second phase and so on.
I am not worried though since I am 20, which means I have enough time to let the price go down and then take advantage from it. Same as moon tourism...can't wait
@Ovidius777 Ok, but don't visit the dark side of the moon, I have it on good authority that there is no dark side of the moon really, matter of fact, it's all dark.
