A female Puma actually kind of sounds like a woman screaming when she calls her cubs. We have one that took refuge in our barn, she takes a deer every other day to feed her cub from last year and this year. She calls them frequently.

I heard screaming like that in oklahoma one night. My parents and my grandparents said it was a black panther and how they always used to hear them when they went hunting and shit. So the next morning i went hiking in the woods and i found cat paw prints the size of my hand.

@VARGAS757 From what I understand, small populations of animals migrate to areas that they aren't abundant in. I'm sure there are some cougars in NC, just not nearly as many in their primary habitat in the western USA.
