immediately upon watching this,i commenced to do pushups to see how many I could do because I will be leaving for Great Lakes on May third......I did 50 ^__^
I'm a green side navy corpsman...our bootcamp PT was a joke lol. Marine PT actually challenges you. I went through boot camp with some real shitbags that couldn't PT if their life depended on it. Navy bootcamp PT is cake haha
marines are a different branch. there are jobs in the navy that will be 10x harder than marine boot camp. dont judge a branch of the military by 1 bootcamp
I can tell you this much. The Marines trash talking these videos are probably boots who still get a boner after they get a fresh high and tight at the PX.
@purple1609 my dads friend was in the navy seals. During training they put you in a pool with diving equipment and people group up on you and try to sufficate you by taking it away and hold you under water. You have to get the stuff back p.s you know tht new seals movie my dads friend kinda directs it you know like making it realistic teaching moves and all tht.
All these "marines" commenting is so funny. I wonder how many of you are actually marines or just high school kids that got there dock hard when the recruiter came to there school. Yeah, I'm in the navy and I'm not a seal but I do keep myself in good shape. Just cause they're not yelling like the marines doesn't mean boot camp wasn't a physical or mental challenge.
@BrobamaX lol you're comment is hilarious, I'm in the DEP for the Marine Corps right now, but hey man we're all a team, no matter what branch. You Navy boys are my brothers as well. Semper Fi.
I remember my days at Freedom Hall as if it were yesterday. The biggest ailment people in my divisision suffered from were from shin splints. My advise; try not to strike the ground with your heel, but more towards the midfoot or just behind the ball of the foot.
@EagleLogic This is true. My run/swim times actually got worse in boot camp. However, you do get to work out more if you're in a special forces division. They're a lot harder on you though. Do what I did and lay low. Don't bring attention to yourself and you'll only get beat down occasionally instead of all the damn time like most of the recruits in my division.
@EagleLogic I had a Seal contract. No I didn't make it, got a med Discharge in BUD/s. Back problem. Working on getting a waiver to try again...real soon.
@Corpsefeast420 Best of luck man! I heard the grinder is brutal. The feeling of always being watched. They say you better count loud and put out hard or you'll be doing it wet and sandy.
Are you kidding? I went through boot camp in '75, and if this video is true to life, and I know a lot of it is psychological, but where is the physical fitness part? And is it really all indoors? I remember days of 75-100 push ups in the rain! Things have definitely gotten easier.
In 2005, we had to march at least 5 miles a day, because we didn't have everything built into our barracks. It was a 1.5 mile round trip to the galley from our barracks. We had to march 4.5 miles just to eat. Our RDCs thought it was really funny to "beat" us just after we showered everyday too, or right after lunch. It was a blast.
@forrosailor Our RDCs LOVED to wake us up at 4 am, beat us down till 5, Then let us go back to sleep till 6. It was fucked up....but sooooo awesome. haha
I went to Navy bootcamp in 2005 things were different then. We had several prior service army and Marine Corps in my division and it was just as hard for them as it was anyone else. When we pissed off our RDCs which seemed to happen every day they would do a little thing called "making it rain". They would crank the heat all the way up, and make us do calisthenics until there was a cloud in the room, and then we would open up all the windows and the cold air would literally make it rain sweat.
@stoppre88 nice. Remember, keep quiet, study your start guide before you go, and hood camp is not how it really is in the navy, the real navys pretty laid back. And ps, you will never write dates like that again after you ship out lol.
@timmylowbie something i have noticed is that most people who talk shit about certain military branches on youtube aren't or have never been in the military. its kinda sad that there are more keybored warriors then actual ones commenting on here.

A senior citizen work out is harder then this! Really working out indoors?? Was it to cold out side? To hot? On a indoor track? Just like he said in the video.."the xbox, playstation, video game era". Everyone who is lack of any Physical Fitness would go to the navy unless they saw themselves as a Navy SEAL. Any one who had some Physical Fitness back round would choose a different military to go to. 124 lazy asses "like"d cause they thought this was the hardest thing they ever did.

Why is everyone fighting over which service is better than the other. Does it really matter. All the armed forces boot camps are different from each other. No branch is stronger than the other. They all are equal!! At the end of the day they are fighting for our lives, and saving our country! Without them we all probably would be dead. Just be thankful that people are risking their lives to save us!
Why are people talking shit about the navy and praising the marines?Without the navy, the marines wouldn't be anything. The navy flies its helicopters, its planes, and houses them on their ships. So all of yall had better cut that bull shit out right now. Also, navy corpsmans are the medics of the marines.
@KrazieDaveGaming Who gives them medical care? Navy Devil Docs. Who flys them supplies when they that 3 months is over? The Navy. Who got them there in the first place? Navy.
@sarge958 The marines were originally created to prevent mutanies on naval ships. The marines were trained to be extremely loyal and to never quit or surrender. This is why they are "molded" or their mindset is changed to never surrender. And the people that take the USMC bootcamp and dont make it are weeded out.. in the navy they are just not disciplined enough. If they were they wouldn't need the Marines. Dont get me wrong, we have the strongest navy in the world and im proud of that.
@KrazieDaveGaming Don't get me wrong, I love the marines. They are the best fighting force in the world. I'm just saying give a little more credit to the navy.
@sarge958 your true on the medics part but we can just take a c17 and paratroop it in to the combat area and we have are own air wing u know cobras f-18s the navy needs the marine corp and the marine corp needs the navy simple as that
WTF why are ppl tlkin bout the marines u dont see the word marines on the title do you...no i didnt think so im tired of ppl disrespecting the navy they fight for ur country too u dumb asses they even took down osama i dont see the marines doing tht show some fuckin encouragement instead of putting them down GEEZ
@youhan1234567 If you do, your paycheck will still come from the Department of the Navy :) Besides if your as fit as you say you are, sighn up for SEAL or SWCC, ya know, the Elite. But all in all, were all on the same side here mate :)
Great Lakes 1972! PT on blacktop grinders OUTDOORS! Winter, Summer, no difference! Drill Halls dark with blacktop floors! Sixteen count manual of arms, push-ups ON your piece! Ninety-six count manual of arms for PT! When you were not marching with the company to and from places, you were double-timing everywhere! You only saw a TV screen in classrooms but they were NOT used! You were addressed as maggot! Women were considered to be imaginary because you NEVER saw one except on grad days!
I am a future sailor who is very nervous about PT. I still have like 138ish days until I ship to boot, but you can tell from all of my videos that I am just worried about PT at Boot... Anyone who has advice about it, TELL ME (unless it's something I already know which you would know 'cuz I've probably said it in my videos lol) =D any help is ultimately good though.
I leave January 4, but im happy to go in the winter. At least if you sweat during a pt session, it won't long to cool down. I hate the heat, it puts me in a bad mood, I'm from new York, so our winter shouldn't be too different from Chicago. When do you leave?
@myprettypinkdiamond thats cool ill be seeing you their lol. i leave january 3rd. im from cali so im not used to it being that cold but i think ill be cool haha
@myprettypinkdiamond boo fucking hoo complain, complain. Do you know how hot it gets on a flight deck in the persian gulf? Lol jk, but seriously, don't complain at boot camp
TV's in the berthing? Wow; times have changed. This boot-camp looks so refined now. When I was at RTC, the closest thing to modern technology were lights and running water. We didn't see any "amenities" until we were practically about to graduate...
If anyone can tell me where you would go to be a naval aviator can you leave a message or tell me text my account I don't know how to become a naval aviator I want to fly for the navy
I leave for bootcamp next month (yes I know it's going to be cold) I can do about 20 pushups but I heard beable to do 30. This is the standard for females. I saw on a video, this guy said you have to do 3 pushups and that considered 1. For example
One, two, three , One
One two, three, Two
One two, three, Three
One two, three, Four
So all in all I need to beable to do 90 pushups!?!? When I started working out a few months ago, could only do 4. And I set my goal for 35. Thinking this was passin
@myprettypinkdiamond Not on the PFA. When we did PT inside the compartment that's usually how we do exercises. So if you have to do 30 push-ups that's how many you have to do on the PFA.
One guy bought starburst at small NEX(and tried to smuggle it back to the compartment), got caught by RDCs, did IT for 5 hours and broke his arm (RDC yelled and made fun of him while he's crying), ASMO'D and sent to special division (for "broken people") and later separated from the NAVY.. That's what happened to one of my shipmate who was in the same division.. lol NAVY is tougher than what you see in usnavy videos..
Ok, ya this does look like it is on the easy side. BUT I have talked to MANY people who made it through Boot, and they said it is MUCH harder, especially when you get ID'd or "Beat" and 8 counts murder almost everyone. with that being said, geez, I'm so not ready for the PT of bootcamp yet. you can tell from my videos I'm not lol.
@beirutvet1983 I can guarentee 90% of what the media shows of military training is the easy part. Ever seen the show Surviving the Cut? I can personally verify that what they showed for Recon Indoc. was the easy part. Also whatever they show of Marine boot camp does not include the verbal abuse. From what I've heard from sailors is that IT is actually crazy hard. Two of those guys are special operations.
@SSgt24thMEU I hope your right I was beginning too worry. My nephew maybe catching hell after all, hope he does well in the Navy, I know things have change alot since my time, but you know what these guys and girls have went through alot the last ten years and that tells me we have great bunch following our footsteps.
for all you who dont know any shit, i just graduated navy boot camp two months ago, this video makes me sick. we ot fucked up. IT sesions that made people pass out and takin out in helicopters to the VA hospital, punchs in the face by cheif. haha fuck this vid
Went through Air Force basic just a couple months ago. If what I am seeing on this video is accurate, then they don't even have PT if it's compared to ours.
CHECK OUT THE NAVY BOOTCAMP SONG!!! typing it in all caps is supposed to make u wanna watch it and add excitement right?lol...honestly i don't even look @ stuff like that but this song is worth it!!!!!

I can't wait, i ship may 2012. for HM. but I'm not very confident in myself and my physical abilities yet... but i make my youtube videos to motivate me more and if i help anyone else out that helps me out lol.
-if you have any questions about Navy DEP, Enlisting, or MEPS just ask me.
they can only show so much about boot camp in videos, notice there is no cursing, its worse than this videos shows it, its not insanely hard its difficult
why does it look like theres no yelling in this branch? haha i watched hella navy videos just for curiousity and i dont see any intense shit ? o_O haha

Also, navy corpsmans are the medics of the marines.
sarge958 2 months ago 30
@sarge958 The marines can sustain battle for 3 months on their own. Anywhere in the world. There is a Marine Fleet, Aviation, and Land branches.
KrazieDaveGaming 1 month ago
@KrazieDaveGaming Who gives them medical care? Navy Devil Docs. Who flys them supplies when they that 3 months is over? The Navy. Who got them there in the first place? Navy.
sarge958 1 month ago
@sarge958 The marines were originally created to prevent mutanies on naval ships. The marines were trained to be extremely loyal and to never quit or surrender. This is why they are "molded" or their mindset is changed to never surrender. And the people that take the USMC bootcamp and dont make it are weeded out.. in the navy they are just not disciplined enough. If they were they wouldn't need the Marines. Dont get me wrong, we have the strongest navy in the world and im proud of that.
KrazieDaveGaming 1 month ago
@KrazieDaveGaming Don't get me wrong, I love the marines. They are the best fighting force in the world. I'm just saying give a little more credit to the navy.
sarge958 1 month ago
@KrazieDaveGaming when's the last time a war was fought and won in 3 months?
banditontherun1024 1 month ago
@banditontherun1024 how bout you google it and find out yourself.
KrazieDaveGaming 1 month ago
@sarge958 you are misinformed the Marines have their own aircraft and are a self sufficient branch
mrvalidus1 1 month ago
@sarge958 your true on the medics part but we can just take a c17 and paratroop it in to the combat area and we have are own air wing u know cobras f-18s the navy needs the marine corp and the marine corp needs the navy simple as that
cooljackdesert 1 month ago
WTF why are ppl tlkin bout the marines u dont see the word marines on the title do you...no i didnt think so im tired of ppl disrespecting the navy they fight for ur country too u dumb asses they even took down osama i dont see the marines doing tht show some fuckin encouragement instead of putting them down GEEZ

@jec23crm
I leave January 4, but im happy to go in the winter. At least if you sweat during a pt session, it won't long to cool down. I hate the heat, it puts me in a bad mood, I'm from new York, so our winter shouldn't be too different from Chicago. When do you leave?
myprettypinkdiamond 2 months ago
@myprettypinkdiamond thats cool ill be seeing you their lol. i leave january 3rd. im from cali so im not used to it being that cold but i think ill be cool haha
jec23crm 2 months ago
@myprettypinkdiamond boo fucking hoo complain, complain. Do you know how hot it gets on a flight deck in the persian gulf? Lol jk, but seriously, don't complain at boot camp
davidalarid16 1 month ago
TV's in the berthing? Wow; times have changed. This boot-camp looks so refined now. When I was at RTC, the closest thing to modern technology were lights and running water. We didn't see any "amenities" until we were practically about to graduate...

technomaster222 2 months ago
I leave for bootcamp next month (yes I know it's going to be cold) I can do about 20 pushups but I heard beable to do 30. This is the standard for females. I saw on a video, this guy said you have to do 3 pushups and that considered 1. For example
One, two, three , One
One two, three, Two
One two, three, Three
One two, three, Four
So all in all I need to beable to do 90 pushups!?!? When I started working out a few months ago, could only do 4. And I set my goal for 35. Thinking this was passin
myprettypinkdiamond 2 months ago
@myprettypinkdiamond Not on the PFA. When we did PT inside the compartment that's usually how we do exercises. So if you have to do 30 push-ups that's how many you have to do on the PFA.

One guy bought starburst at small NEX(and tried to smuggle it back to the compartment), got caught by RDCs, did IT for 5 hours and broke his arm (RDC yelled and made fun of him while he's crying), ASMO'D and sent to special division (for "broken people") and later separated from the NAVY.. That's what happened to one of my shipmate who was in the same division.. lol NAVY is tougher than what you see in usnavy videos..
bdragonst 2 months ago
@bdragonst my friend got back last month and told me that SAME story. HA what are the odds..
crazyboondocker 2 months ago
@crazyboondocker Maybe your friend and i were in the same division. haha

@bdragonst what are the odds of that
crazyboondocker 2 months ago
Ok, ya this does look like it is on the easy side. BUT I have talked to MANY people who made it through Boot, and they said it is MUCH harder, especially when you get ID'd or "Beat" and 8 counts murder almost everyone. with that being said, geez, I'm so not ready for the PT of bootcamp yet. you can tell from my videos I'm not lol.
bubblybrooke92 2 months ago
My nephew just went too Navy Boot Camp, after watching this he shouldn't have any problem. this is a joke.
beirutvet1983 2 months ago
@beirutvet1983 I can guarentee 90% of what the media shows of military training is the easy part. Ever seen the show Surviving the Cut? I can personally verify that what they showed for Recon Indoc. was the easy part. Also whatever they show of Marine boot camp does not include the verbal abuse. From what I've heard from sailors is that IT is actually crazy hard. Two of those guys are special operations.
SSgt24thMEU 2 months ago
@SSgt24thMEU I hope your right I was beginning too worry. My nephew maybe catching hell after all, hope he does well in the Navy, I know things have change alot since my time, but you know what these guys and girls have went through alot the last ten years and that tells me we have great bunch following our footsteps.
beirutvet1983 2 months ago
are they advertising the navy? Navy is way harder than this shit.
