personally the top 3 aren't that great... they all have ups and downs... its personal taste... pc leans towards gamer while mac leans towards editing software and they are getting more OSX games, and Linux.... well..... pretty much it tries to have the UI of the other 2 since there are multiple versions of it.. but there is barely any software designed for Linux and most of the time you will be navigating it in a command line screen... pretty much if you wanna be a programmer use Linux.
its funny this whole virus talk we are having here, in my school we get a laptop to use in school n all, since i got it i havent got a sinlge virus BUT my other class mates have gotten so much viruses n shit it takes like 10 mins to start up it and they get blue screens of death and all that fun stuff, no whonder rly, if you think of how much shit they download

Fair point, but I bought a PC with an anti virus system and within a year I had 7 Trojans and I'm not an idiot going on unsafe sites etc. It started freezing, the anti virus software wasn't working. I had to resort to my 8 year old Emac which got no viruses with no anti virus software and it didn't freeze. So saying whether its a mac or a PC it doesn't matter is clearly wrong.

i like pc's because i've made a pc that is much cheaper than a mac, but if you break a mac, then you have to pay a loooot to fix it, if you want to fix a pc yourself, you don't have any warranty to break because it's your own pc...

@mingeekyside For Pete's sake, people had to buy magazines to get their information lol, had to makea phone call to get a driver mailed to them which took like days to get. You have no clue how simple things are today. Take for example running OS/X....all you need is VM Workstation and open a Hackintosh image....I do it all the time. Same with hardware, you have all the info you need online, all you have to do is click on a button and it's on your doorstep the next day.

@technodrpepper You're a moron. The bluescreen of death is actually more related to Hardware errors generally. The blue screen is a safety mechanism which you CAN disable, but shouldn't, that stops your computer from overheating certain drives or parts of the computer by over-exerting them. Most blue screens are related to the Video Card, or Hard drive. Running them too hard for too long of a time is extremely Detrimental to their health.
@technodrpepper Most Bluescreens are caused by faulty Drivers. Blaming this on pornography is stupid. Sure, There are a small handful of virus that cause hardware errors, but these are relativly uncommon. When you get a blue screen, the best thing to do is update all of your drivers associated with the code you were given on the BSOD, and if associated with ram, check ram for burns.
Most pornography websites are clean virus-wise. Peer-2-peer can be risky, but e-mail is where viruses spread.

While I agree with you that if you take care of your computer and if you format you hard drive (at least the one with windows on) your computer will be running like brand new for many years. Still I find it hard to belief that you never had a blue screen if you actually use your computer and not just check email on it and you're older than 12.

@weirdduder10 you don't know anything about computers, the reason why mac doesn't have all the free stuff you can download is, other companies don't make programs for mac, either 1, apple doesn't pay for them, and 2, mac are a lot harder to make softwares with their stuff. PC is much easier since the PC has a easier C++ and more supported software.
But crying about viruses, either, 1. you watch porn to much 2. you download many stupid shit. 3. you don't have a anti-virus.

I have a $2200 PC built by a professional IT guy working for my dad's company to maximize performance and use. It freezes constantly, just like every other PC on the planet after a couple months of use.
I have a $1,400 Macbook Pro. It's older than the PC. It works like fucking clockwork.

As for the mac, if you can justify spending that much on not the specs of a computer, but an OS, feel free.
I'm not gonna lie here, Windows has it's upsides, and so does mac, and hell so does linux at times.

I know what I'm doing when it comes to any personal computer, I've just had sooooo many PCs fail on me that I needed to try something new. And the upsides of the Mac accommodate ALL of my needs, and the unreliability that (at least) I experienced with Windows PCs is unacceptable. But if it works better for you, that's great.

Um yeah, how about I've been using the same desktop for three years and that has never happened? You must be really abusing your computer if it's failing like that.
Open task manger and end explorer.exe, and have a Fail. do the same on a mac.... open force quit and press relaunch finder and then have a refreshed finder.
Actually, explorer.exe autoreboots if it's shut down... Always has with me, back when it crashed, which was with my windows ME... I didn't switch to Vista because it's a failed release by Microsoft, but I'm happy with my XP. It's not the most stable platform but it is the most versatile. And if you have protection against virusses, that's another thing you don't have to worry about anymore.

- memory

@technodrpepper You're a moron. The bluescreen of death is actually more related to Hardware errors generally. The blue screen is a safety mechanism which you CAN disable, but shouldn't, that stops your computer from overheating certain drives or parts of the computer by over-exerting them. Most blue screens are related to the Video Card, or Hard drive. Running them too hard for too long of a time is extremely Detrimental to their health.
It has nothing to do with virus or pornography.

@technodrpepper Most Bluescreens are caused by faulty Drivers. Blaming this on pornography is stupid. Sure, There are a small handful of virus that cause hardware errors, but these are relativly uncommon. When you get a blue screen, the best thing to do is update all of your drivers associated with the code you were given on the BSOD, and if associated with ram, check ram for burns.
Most pornography websites are clean virus-wise. Peer-2-peer can be risky, but e-mail is where viruses spread.

i agree with you that pornography websites are more secure but before they weren't as much. but really if you have a Trojan horse in your computer and you dont get rid of it as quickly possible it can fuck your computer up. Idk what other people do with their PC's..however I know vista sucked.

While I agree with you that if you take care of your computer and if you format you hard drive (at least the one with windows on) your computer will be running like brand new for many years. Still I find it hard to belief that you never had a blue screen if you actually use your computer and not just check email on it and you're older than 12.

@weirdduder10 you don't know anything about computers, the reason why mac doesn't have all the free stuff you can download is, other companies don't make programs for mac, either 1, apple doesn't pay for them, and 2, mac are a lot harder to make softwares with their stuff. PC is much easier since the PC has a easier C++ and more supported software.

I have a $2200 PC built by a professional IT guy working for my dad's company to maximize performance and use. It freezes constantly, just like every other PC on the planet after a couple months of use.
I have a $1,400 Macbook Pro. It's older than the PC. It works like fucking clockwork.

As for the mac, if you can justify spending that much on not the specs of a computer, but an OS, feel free.
I'm not gonna lie here, Windows has it's upsides, and so does mac, and hell so does linux at times.

@Darkterrora Agreed. Believe me, I know my way around windows pretty freaking well. I know what I'm doing when it comes to any personal computer, I've just had sooooo many PCs fail on me that I needed to try something new. And the upsides of the Mac accommodate ALL of my needs, and the unreliability that (at least) I experienced with Windows PCs is unacceptable. But if it works better for you, that's great.

I do wish I could game a little harder, though.

Actually, explorer.exe autoreboots if it's shut down... Always has with me, back when it crashed, which was with my windows ME... I didn't switch to Vista because it's a failed release by Microsoft, but I'm happy with my XP. It's not the most stable platform but it is the most versatile. And if you have protection against virusses, that's another thing you don't have to worry about anymore.
