How low USA has sunk to ALLOW a thieving jew homosexual deviant to hold political office! Radical goyim-hating jews and communists have infiltrated America and are destroying it from within just as the Roman Emperors and the Catholic Cardinals and Napoleopn and Voltaire and Hitler and everyone else throughout thousands of years of history has said about the jews. It's all true.
“Every time we do something you tell me America will do this and will do that . . . I want to tell you something very clear: Don’t worry about American pressure on Israel. We, the Jewish people, control America, and the Americans know it.”
Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon to Shimon Peres, October 3, 2001, as reported on Kol Yisrael radio.
I called up the Schnitt show and told him I was against all "hate crime laws," he thought because I was black I'd be for and also thought I'd thing Rand Paul was wrong for saying CRA shouldn't be!

There will always be prejudices in one form or another, just like there will always be crime, rage, poverty and violence! It's what happens when you try to crowd a bunch of people in small areas, called cities. Barney Frank wastes our tax dollars discussing these issues in such a childish way....
Here we go again. BF pretending to be arguing for laws to defend gays from
"hate" crimes. Ha! What this conniving little rat really wants is legislation which will criminalize people who don't like homosexuals or Jews or Mexicans or Blacks or Whites or teenagers who dye their hair pink. But 99% of the people in America will dislike at least one of these racial or social groups. Do we criminalize 99% of the people because they don't like or, god forbid, hate some group. Grow up, Barney!
what i wonder is, if we have determined that for example 25 years is the fair limit for murder (not that it is, this is just a point) then why is adding 5 or 10 more years because of who the victim is different. if 35 years is the new fair limit then why not 35 for killing any of us?
Is it just me or does this man have an extremely annoying voice? Aren't there already enough laws on the books to protect people from assault and battery? Barney is asking for MORE rights for some people. Net effect: Assault people that aren't sexually warped and you effectively get a discount on your sentence.
Boasting about ones own hateful thoughts, motives, and actions against a "lunatic" within the very implementation of seeking support for hate crime legislation removes any credibility of this individuals argument.
hate crime legislations are BS desired by people who seek to elevate themselves above their equals. They must think they are better than their equals. A crime is a crime nothing more or less.
The hate crimes bill protects sexual orientation. If a group of gays decides to beat you up because you're straight, then this bill applies equally as well.
if you have two kids and one is gay, one is not. each are killed in the same manner, one because he is gay, the other because say he witnessed a crime. Which lost child will you mourn more? Which child suffered more? Why should the one killing a gay person get an increased penalty? The crime is a shame, the victim is as much as a victim as the other. Gays, and other monorities are not special. Why do you want special privilege? Get over yourselves
No is stating that ALL murdered gays equals hate crime. You are applying an abstract idea (incorrectly) instead of applying it to real world situations; that is the only way to see if the bill is indeed legitimate.
If a black man is murdered because he is black, does he suffer more or does his family suffer more than a person who is murdered out of a traditional motive? Absolutely not. All crime is unfair and should be prosecuted equally. If a gay man is attacked because he is gay, he is no more a victim than a person attacked that is attacked for monetary gain. Get real people. Quit looking for privilege. Your rights are equal with the rest of America, which is exactly what they should be
Yes, all good fellow Christians, we have got to stop this bill.. otherwise we won't be able to kill all homos as we are commanded in Lev 20:13 .. then before you know it they'll say were not allowed to kill people who pick up sticks on Sunday (Num 15:32) or kill anyone cursing their parents (Lev 20:9) or all adulterers(Lev 20:10)
or they'll even try to prosecute us for smashing babies against rocks (Psalm 137:9) or anyone who questions any of these beautiful commandments(Lev 24:16)
As fun as ridiculing or defending Barney may be for some of you, where is the outrage at the bill itself? Unequal protection under the law is wrong. Institutionalized discrimination by the government is wrong. Prosecuting people for "thought crime" is wrong. If a bill to give special protection and rights to only heterosexuals would be wrong, then how is this bill acceptable? The bill would protect child molesters and psychopaths, but not pregnant women or veterans. Barney knows it's despicable.
technically, it does protect heterosexuals as well. the bill covers sexual orientation, which could just as easily mean straight or gay.
we just don't typically have a bunch of gay people violently attacking straight people. the reverse, however is much more prevelent.
and it's not to prosecute people for thought crime; it's to help prosecute certain actions. case in point, the current hate crimes bill includes race and gender and people are still allowed to be as racist and sexist as they want
"we just don't typically have a bunch of gay people violently attacking straight people"
That isn't true. The relative numbers just cover it up.
Example is a 75/25 percent split w/equally violent people in each group. The experienced victimization of the minority is 9 times that of the majority. The majority isn't one bit more violent or criminal, but the portion of the majority that is concentrates on a small group, while the violent minority's attacks are spread out over a larger group.
I wasn't citing information. In my example I stated, "w/equally violent people in each group". I was illustrating that even when the majority is not prone to above average violence or criminality, the minority is still victimized at a higher rate due to the math involved. The minority can also be expected to perceive themselves as being persecuted when really it is just the relative numbers that concentrate attacks against them.
Its a good sounding argument, but I think that is all it is. I was asking for proof, because in my experience I have NEVER heard of gay on straight violence except for the occasional ass kicking in self defense.
Even if it were true, it is only argument for the bill because my community is concentrated and there are 300 million straight people to which a margin are hateful and violent towards us.
I thought maybe your argument was based on a study or any fact at all.
In the 2007 FBI hate crime data, of the known offenders, 3,802 were white and 1,045 black. Per capita this means the black population contains 65% more hate criminals. (The FBI doesn't collect the orientation data needed.)
There were 1,771 anti-black offenses by whites and 395 against whites by blacks.
Per capita, blacks were victims of hate "only" 27 times as often as whites (36 would actually be balanced).
Whites are less likely to commit hate crimes, but the perception is still there.
My education is medicine, so admittedly I can't argue this well. but there are problems with accuracy of these numbers too because they don't reflect socio-economical variables. i don't know how you could, but they need to be if this were true to life. Remember these are convicted, and who can afford a good lawyer and who can't. Who was caught. There are more cops in cities than rural areas etc... I truly do appreciate your argument, it just doesn't hold water for me.
An analogy is to put 9 straight and 1 gay hate criminals in a room and let each of them take one swing. The gay criminal will receive 9 punches while a single straight criminal will be hit once (1/9th each on average). The victimization ratio is 81:1. Is it any wonder you never hear of gay on straight violence? The population ratio, not greater criminality, is the driving factor. Hate crime laws won't change that, and they won't tell us this on "Numb3rs".
Actually this would make a great episode of numb3rs. I love that show.
I get what you are saying, and if I knew anything about math I would likely be able to bat it down better. Thanks for sharing though. It is nice that someone is using something other than feelings and hunches to try to illustrate a point from the other side, sincerely.
If not the thought, then what? The additional criminality is totally contained within the thought of the criminal when it comes to hate crime. The harsher sentencing isn't for the brutality or extent of the crime, it is for having the wrong thoughts while engaging in criminal activity. Criminals often choose to prey on weak victims. How is mugging a strong young gay black man somehow worse than mugging an elderly white woman? It makes no sense and is wrong.
And this bill has nothing to do with thought crime. I'm sorry you didn't read 1984, but this isn't the case.
"special protection and rights "
Of course, this has nothing to do with the bill.
"bill would protect child molesters and psychopaths"
Funny, that's not in this bill and the current law, unless you consider the religious protection in hate crime law since many seem to be of those categories.
The bill protects people based on sexual orientation, gender, and gender identity. This includes those sexually attracted to all manner of things, including children, their relatives, corpses, animals, and inanimate objects... not just other straight or gay people.
It is thought crime because the additional punishment will be handed down based on beliefs and perception, not just actions during the crime, or actions before the crime in premeditation. Is a random killing spree somehow less wrong?
It doesn't include about sex with corpses, animals or relatives. Why the lies? If you have an actual credible argument against this bill then spill it.
It is about terrorizing a suspect class. We already have a hate crimes law nationally on the books. Where were you for the last few years complaining about the current law?
The law allows for federal assets to be used, especially, like in the south in the 60s, when local law enforcement refused to investigate.
I consider it to include those categories by omission.
One verifiable complaint I have about the bill is that the democrats know it is unconstitutional and so included a clause stating that if any part is struck down, the remainder of the bill will stand.
"If any provision of this Act, . . . is held to be unconstitutional, the remainder of this Act, the amendments made by this Act, and the application of the provisions of such to any person or circumstance shall not be affected thereby."
Would you say that getting back too much change from a cashier and keeping it is on the same par as stealing an election? One results in minor punishment and the other can result in several years in federal prison. Yet neither have to do with thought.
"how is mugging a strong young gay black man somehow worse than mugging an elderly white woman?" it isn't worse, and if some attacked that woman because she was white or a woman or elderly she would also be protected under hate crimes legislation. it just doesn't protect minorities, it protects every race, nationality, ethnic background, religion, ability, and--hopefully soon--sexual orientation.
Point I was making about the elderly white women victims is why make choosing victims based on their perceived vulnerability carry less of a punishment than choosing victims based on the group they happen to be part of.
If one person commits a crime because they honestly believe members of a certain group are evil or subhuman, is that person a worse person than someone who commits a crime simply because they recognize an opportunity to do so? Their beliefs are what the longer sentences punish.
Thats exactly why Congress is so screwed in the head, they take these absurd rationales and propogate them. Precedent means nothing, other than idiot before you was wrong too.
