No. Once you land on Ilos, that is the last mission all together so if you wanna do side quest it would had to be before you land on that planet. 2. it continues to ME2 because they made it so you can upload your Shepard from a completed ME1 career. Loading that last auto save just gives you a chance to change your very last options that would continue over I suppose.

he dies at the very begining. But he is brought baak to life by Cerberus with the Lazarus project. This is how you are able to alter your character again.
they say that he might die in mass effect 2 but thats an ending you choose to do. there are others where he survives, others where he is serously wounded and so on. hope this helps=P

The only thing I didn't agree with was them grounding the normandy since they should have trusted shepherd by now to be discreet, especially since the normandy can stealth! but anyway, the main reason for saving them choosing to let them die would look very bad with the other races if it ever came to light, and the fact that they may have been ignorant or nasty to you and your race doesn't mean you should be the same to them, otherwise you are no better than them.

teh reapers are in hibernation. They don't know sovereign is dead so if the humans were to send a few megaton nukes in when the reapers shields are down we can reduce their numbers to something we can fight.
Nukes are much less effective in space cuz theres no air to carry the explosion. Therefore, you would have to rely on pure heat and radiation to melt a ship. Sorry, thats my "mr.know it all" quote for the month.

I consider the ending where the Council dies to be better. They were absolutely CRIMINALLY ignorant. Few things in a fictional story enrage me so, but the Council's actions throughout the game after they find out about Saren--the first mistake's forgivable. The pointless, continuous complaining afterward is not. The final grounding at the most critical juncture--"We know better in our little foxhole despite all you saw out there in actual space, we don't trust your 'dream'"--is intolerable.

What's harsh is many, many more lives of innocent civilians being lost to protect a ship that's running away--not helping to save all organic life, but actually running away with the Council. Once you realize that despite their species and position, they have done nothing but hinder you except where it made them feel powerful, superior, and self-righteous... they thought with you as their Spectre they could control that upstart species. Never mind that, overly passionate and headstrong or not, we were RIGHT. I can't stand closed-minded racists, and that's what the Council are.
@anjica123 actually there were 10,000 civilians on that ship, which is mentioned in ME2, would have been nice if they mentioned it in ME1 because the first time around I didnt feel too bad about abandoning the ascension.
The council was logical, they couldn't make such decisions that effect the entire galaxy on the word of a single specter with no evidence. However, as I saw it the logical decision at the end was to let the council die rather than loose huge amounts of life. While leaders are important, loosing such massive numbers would be a far getter loss than 3 individuals who could be replaced by others who are equally capable.
The council was justified in many of their actions. They couldn't just act on the whims of a single specter, they needed hard evidence. Their action weighed heavily on the galaxy.
So when it was time for me to decide whether to save them or not, I couldn't sacrifice many lives and warships saving them when I had to focus my troops on the reaper hell ship. Too much was at stake so logically I had to kill them.
the consuils were justified, but it still annoyed me after being proven right over and over, when u saw a reaper, talked to it, they should have learned to trust you, it would have scaredd the galaxy put htem into deep panic, but at the same time it could have saved many lives, and agreed even playing as a mostly full paragon, unless i dint agree with the paragon answer, i still let the consuil die, no 3 lives are worth contless others
Bioware did an amazing job on the detailed graphics in this game. Just 1 thing. I think Captain Anderson's face looked awkwardly disfigured throughout the game. It kind of annoyed me that they could have done that better. Who agrees?
Does anyone know how you can actually save the game AFTER the end video/credits? It annoys me immensely having to go back to the autosave with Saren everytime; perhaps you can't. I dunno.

You've never even tried to make a female Shepard, have you? It's possible to make some who look pretty badass. Not to mention that Jennifer Hale's voice acting (fem Shep) is WAY superior to Mark Meer's (male Shep). I'd take a female Shepard over a male Shepard every single day of the week.

Shepard is wearing Onyx armor, but I can't get down its classification (Light, Medium, or Heavy), or its version (1 through 10). Also, I can't get down whatever modifications on this armor, but for all I know, she's wearing Onyx armor.
Imo the best game ever. Just finished Paragon and played as soilder now Im going to do other classes and renegade and explore it some more. Love the story and I was excited the whole game. Great job just like Kotor
Male Shepherd can choose between Ashley and Liara.
Female Shepherd can choose between Kaiden and Liara.
Liara is available to both sexes because Asari have no gender. They are able to reproduce with both sexes. Physically contact is optional for their species. Normally they just merge minds. Apparently Liara really wanted to see what all the fuss is about ^_^

You start a new save, when you "establish secure connection" you're prompted to select John Shepard, Enter New ID, or use Existing ID - which will allow you to select the character you beat it with, keeping your experience, abilities and equipment.
Wow, I haven't beaten the game yet (just got it) and, well, it looked like they were fighting the Xenomorph from Alien. Meh, its an ok ending. Better than the alien sex scenes. *shudder* Scary.

I understand what you mean, however, the choice wasn't very clear. Ashley made the comment that stopping sovereign is our main priority.
The choices were save the council, let the council die, or go after sovereign. I thought they were making you decide from those three. I thought if I saved the council the reapers would come. I chose to go after Sovereign, but then I found out that they both had similar outcomes no matter what you chose. I may have changed my choice, but either ending is fine
I HATED that fight with the Mechana-Saren. It was easy because it was arcade-styled, but damn was it BORING!
I got the Paragon ending and LOVED it! I almost cried during the cliffhanger part, where Sheppard isn't seen for a few seconds, then appears out of nowhere.

If saren was trying not to fight the reapers...why did he kill the turian in your first mission?that mission where you have to let one of your team mates die....he says that they were all powerful and he didnt want them to kill him...he chose to save himself than alert the council about this little problem with the beacon.
the other turian (nihlus) would of fond out that saren was killin humans on eden prime and reported saren. saren wasnt gonna let him walk away with that! =]
what armer did you use? i used the scorpian VI armor, and what gun, i used the rifle(forget name though, i think kwreVII or something, i know the damage bar was full though) and i killed saren like that, very easy with that gun it rocks.
I like the ME 2 ending better, cause you could see all your fellow compaignons in action not just 3 :)

It's hard to say, you can choose who the ruler will be if the council dies and if you are paragon or renegade.

Imo the best game ever. Just finished Paragon and played as soilder now Im going to do other classes and renegade and explore it some more. Love the story and I was excited the whole game. Great job just like Kotor

No you can't.
Male Shepherd can choose between Ashley and Liara.
Female Shepherd can choose between Kaiden and Liara.
Liara is available to both sexes because Asari have no gender. They are able to reproduce with both sexes. Physically contact is optional for their species. Normally they just merge minds. Apparently Liara really wanted to see what all the fuss is about ^_^

I finished it today - only bad thing about it is that u cant continue playing after the creds..well..you can but u'll have to go back to a previous save.
Or am I just doing something wrong?

You start a new save, when you "establish secure connection" you're prompted to select John Shepard, Enter New ID, or use Existing ID - which will allow you to select the character you beat it with, keeping your experience, abilities and equipment.

Wow, I haven't beaten the game yet (just got it) and, well, it looked like they were fighting the Xenomorph from Alien. Meh, its an ok ending. Better than the alien sex scenes. *shudder* Scary.

I understand what you mean, however, the choice wasn't very clear. Ashley made the comment that stopping sovereign is our main priority.
The choices were save the council, let the council die, or go after sovereign. I thought they were making you decide from those three. I thought if I saved the council the reapers would come. I chose to go after Sovereign, but then I found out that they both had similar outcomes no matter what you chose. I may have changed my choice, but either ending is fine

I HATED that fight with the Mechana-Saren. It was easy because it was arcade-styled, but damn was it BORING!
I got the Paragon ending and LOVED it! I almost cried during the cliffhanger part, where Sheppard isn't seen for a few seconds, then appears out of nowhere.
Mass Effect is possibly one of the greatest games in the history of Video Games.

If saren was trying not to fight the reapers...why did he kill the turian in your first mission?that mission where you have to let one of your team mates die....he says that they were all powerful and he didnt want them to kill him...he chose to save himself than alert the council about this little problem with the beacon.

what armer did you use? i used the scorpian VI armor, and what gun, i used the rifle(forget name though, i think kwreVII or something, i know the damage bar was full though) and i killed saren like that, very easy with that gun it rocks.
