  • I'm not a christian nor a conversative but I've always wondered about this subject.

The question would be when the baby is alive. Because as a developing cell, I think it would be okay to have an abortion as it would be the mother's choice as it is not a living thing. But once it lives, it's a child which has rights of it's ownwhich shouldn't overrides unless the mother is at risk.

So, I need to know, when does a fetus start living? What is living? This is something I've really wanted to know.

  • you religious freaks make me sick, leave christianity out of this, if a woman is raped and becomes pregnant, the thing we should do is help her and counsel her with her decision and NOT force her, this is dictatorship

  • If a person professes to be a Christian then they will understand this. The world may not but Christians should. Do we put all our hope in Yahweh or do we become selective and decide that we know whats best in certain situations.

It's not easy but the truth is, if we are Christians then lets be that. When the going gets tough then lets be the family that is so loosely spoken of.

  • the world is not so black and white to say that absolutely abortion should be banned or absolutely abortion is needed.

yes abortion is wrong, i think we can all agree on that.

however, there are exceptions to every rule. like in this: what about rape and incest victims?, what if the mother is not capable of giving birth?, what if the parents know that the child will have a genetic disease?, what if the baby has a disease that is killing the mother and the unborn baby?

    alot of what if's

  • i wonder what in his warped mind can justify a rape victim being made to carry her rapists, bastard seed to term? make her go through 9 months of horror and hours of pain and labor just so he can be satisfied that his theology and way of thinking was able to be forced on another person regardless of that persons life, body, mental and emotional health? it is twisted and weird to assume it is ok to make a rape victim bare her rapist seed.

  • why do people use the bible and religion to justify abortions being wrong in a country that is not a theocracy?

  • Holy crap well said bro!

  • i am not a walking incubator. i refuse to be some potential rent-a-womb for the bastard seed of a rapist. if i am pregnant it will be at my discretion. my body is the most sacred thing i own. if i cant be free from a violation as extreme as forced pregnancy i cant be free anywhere. when you get violated you can decide what your body experiences afterwards. i will decide for myself what happens to mine.

  • it's a book with a basis on humanity. We might have more technology, but we are still just humans. We have the same emotions and basic needs as people in those days, and the words from the Bible are just as relevant to us today.

  • never touches on incest, but makes a good point on rape.

  • When your beliefs are formed by a 2000 year old book with no basis in modern life anything can make sense.

  • wow, you know i never thought of it that way but it makes a lot of sense.

  • amen!

    very very well said.
