  • Wow! Such an exciting talent! Where can I find this piece in print?

  • Love it. Wayyyyyyyyy cool! -J:

  • I like when the Billy Goat's left hand leaps over the fence to sample the high stuff on the other side. Our goats know all about that.

  • wonderful to hear ragtime played with such poise and refinement. :-)

  • This fellow has talent. Now I have to find out if he is performing anywhere around Detroit and look for a CD. I wish he would start a ragtime band. Ever since the New England Conservatory Ragtime Ensemble stopped performing and recording, it has been a cultural wasteland. Good job, Thanks for posting.

  • Nice piece, esp. liked the passage at 2.16

  • @shishirth Thanks. I am glad you liked it. And thanks for taking the time to say so specifically what you liked. It's appreciated.

  • So,good music is till being composed despite that b..h Spears and the other monster Beyonce. What a joy to listen to something like this or,even better, this!

  • @Squarerig Thanks!

  • You wrote this man?? cool. sounds very joplin like

  • @HEADBANGING69 this is not joplin like at all.... this is more honky tonk country.

  • Great Job!

  • I like both your concert performance as well as the pianocorder rendition of it, which is also on YouTube.

It sounds like a real fun piano piece. I'd love to have a go at playing it. Please send me the sheet music.

  • The 21centry King of rag? =)

    Awesome as it gets =))

  • Omg.. he has such musical talent that it almost sounds like his piano is singing it... O_o

  • I can't help notice the similarities between the trio and Joplin's Gladiolus. Well, as Johannes Brahms might have said, any fool can hear it. In this case the figure works well in a composition of a character very different from that of Joplin's rag. There are also bits and pieces of other Joplin rags in the melee, but Gladiolus comes out the most.

  • Well, I am glad you know what Johannes Brahms would have said, so I don't have to say it. :) But still, you have a good ear. The biggest resemblance I hear is between the D strain of my piece and the D strain of Gladiolus. In any case, thanks for the comment.

  • anyone has the piano score for this song?

  • Its called sheets, and no I dont have any sheets to this song, but IF you find them, send me a message. I want them just as well :/

  • Forget it, I just checked, they seem to have gone away. T_T.

  • Dooh!

  • I have the sheet music.

  • plz send it to me! tried to friend you

  • I can send it to your email if you send me your address.

  • sent it to you thanks

  • Is that offer still available PianoWallaby? I'd love to see the sheet music as well.

    Thanks,

    Sean

  • Send me your email address, and I will get you the music. Thanks, Brett

  • Yes, I have the sheet music.

  • You do? OMG... Send it to me... Write me a message. plz!

  • Haha, ok... I've started practicing it now when I've finally managed to get the sheets out of the computer... Just one word... Hard! ^^ Haha... Okkkk... This will take a while :P I'll let you know if I make it xD

  • OK! About the key signature: just determine which keys are possible (all the black keys and just two white ones: the ones next to the black triplets), and then just read the notes as they go up and down; don't pay too much attention to the actual note names - that might make it a bit easier). Best of luck!

  • Ok. Thanks ^^

  • please send me the sheet music for the billy goat rag. I love ragtime and play it exclusively (well a little stride too), i am a big fan of this song, tried to figure out some of it by ear, but would be most appreciative if you could send me your transcription. thanks a lot

  • Thanks for this post!

  • first class music, amazing composition, so clearly played and what a great subject... really a piece of music that everybody want to leasten and play...thanks man, these are great stuff...

  • Brett Youens' wit, exuberance, and multiple talents shine through this exquisite performance. He is a natural; I anticipate even more from this gifted musical composer.
