What you've seen? On what, YouTube? I just got off the range 12 hours ago. 45 Long Colt is a low pressure round and has almost an inch to travel to the chamber and will not out perform a Dupo-7 110 grain slug that is specifically designed for the Judge @ 1830 hot. Almost twice the muzzle energy. Believe that.
@TheJomogogo I know you posted this 4 months ago. But I had to laugh. I don't know what you're basing this off of. I do a little shooting here and there. I'm not a genius or a math wizard. But I know guns and ammo. MUCH more powerful .45LC? I guess you never heard of a Dupo 7 short magnum. It's made for the judge. 2000 fps @110gr achieves about 970 ft/lb of energy. Hell, a 1/5 oz rifled slug (87.5gr) at 1830 fps gets about 650 ft/lb. 225 gr .45LC @ 900 fps = 400 ft/lbs.
@YouRknotFree i find the little remington 1/5oz sluggers to do well outta of a pistol... like you i do shoot.. and as a real life hunter.. my ass was spared from a hog..due to the effect of Dupo7 short mag. and a throat shot that bled him out fast...i was shocked at the entrance hole. from a so called puny round..
@TheJomogogo Actually, what I ment to say is I own a fucking arsenal (Including a 6-inch Judge) and shoot constantly chronographing several types of ammo and I've yet to find a .45LC that could safely out shoot production slugs in both velocity, energy, and terminal ballistics. But I'm guessing you draw on years of experience and a wealth of knowledge when you run your cock-sucker around professionals who shoot for a living.
@TheJomogogo look at the energy calculations for a number of these two choices and account for the very short barrel, since the nominal 45colt speed is quite slow even for a longer barrel. for many choices of these two, the energy in the 410 will often match or exceed that of the colt. i have a Judge myself and have experimented with different loads for both, comparing penetration and overall destruction of a variety of target media so your statement is lacking proof and fact
@standyourground91101 Probably, but the video was to demonstrate accuracy, and pulling a 30 pound trigger eleven feet doesn't really help a tight group. lol. Cocking it makes the pull much nicer.
Not sure if this has been covered anywhere but can the Judge shoot .410 slugs as well? And if so how do they compare with the .45 LC as far as accuracy and knock down power?
Gread Video. Mine was shooting way high and to the left with .45's and I never thought to change my sight picture. What rounds are you using by the way? I've only shot the Mag Techs out of mine
Looking to get a new pistol for conceal carry. Does the Judge work well in this capacity? Currently on the fence between a Judge or a Smith sub M&P40.
@mrbigtex dude imso glad you put up this vid stuffing all those who are saying it cant hit worth shit for a defense gun lol this will work more than enough
Good shooting, i can't seem to find my aim after just a few rounds with my judge... If ammo wasnt sooo expensive, i'd practice more lol!!! I'll get there!!!
Will a .45/410 judge shoot all colt rounds or specifically just .45LC?

what size is the barrel?

This gun makes me want someone to walk into my house and fuck with me.. 2 shells to daze him then one slug to waste him.

And if you're shooting Cor-Bon be prepared to get a hook for that hand. The judge isn't rated for +P unless its the SS or a Raging Judge.

great to see a video of the accuracy with .45 LC. I'm actually surprised how well it worked! have you tried .410 slugs yet? thoughts?

@tincan77
What possible reason would you have for shooting the anemic .410 slug out of a Judge instead of the MUCH more powerful .45 Colt?

@YouRknotFree
Really?
OK tell us what the velocity is from a Judge i'm fascinated.
About 1200 fps from the short barrel is wgat i've seen, and slug only weigh 90-100 grains.
That's dogshit compared to a 45 Colt doing 800 pfs with a 250 grain bullet.
What's with the insults, all I did was point out the 410 slugs puniness from a Judge barrel, no need to be an asshole about it.
TheJomogogo 10 months ago
@TheJomogogo but that 45colt is never going to do that 800fps from a 2" barrel, asshole; do the fucking math

The Judge would be a bit large for conceal unless you're as large as I am.
