Mahalia loved this song and sang it many different ways. Her improvisations are exciting. Imagine with the acoustics of a studio how beautiful this version here would sound. She's in excellent voice here!

I have a book and that source cites 1970. A photo of Louis and Mahalia is in this book. It was his birthday (70th, I think).

I do believe your right, in 1970 in Newport , Rhode Island it was Louis Armstrong night at the Newport Jazz Festival. Mahalia was there as well as Dizzy Gillespie and others.
