Very good. :) I'm jealous that she had the opportunity to start so young. I see her going very far in the world of music. I'll be listening around. I wonder what music they are to bring the world in 20 years.
@maluliju37 What is different? From what I know Isaac Stern also studied young and has his first debut at age 15. I'm not really jealous. Maybe that was the wrong word. But more disappointed with my families inability to fund my studies in music. I've had interest in music since I was 5 and asked for an instrument many times. The most they could get me was a harmonica until recently. Even now I've never taken lessons. Music is not my future. That's why I'm working to study medicine. Inform me.
@lolturtle13 From my point of view, he had a very unhappy childhood: the price to pay when your parents push too hard!! But when children know they want to be musicians, then I agree parents should do all they can to encourage them, my children chose the instrument they wanted to play; But I know very talented people who have had it the hard way, managed without help from their family, and go on fighting! If you think music is your life, go ahead with it, so as not to regret later!
The work isn't supposed to be a skip in the park. A great musician doesn't deliberately showcase technique for all to see: the maestro uses his/her skills to better display the music.
This is a disappointment to me, especially since I know the girls can do much better. The technique is there, no question. The interpretation isn't. This is a moody and soulful work, not a skip in the park.
@TomBarrister aw come on...girls can do much better? That sounds like.... you can do it much better just because you are a boy......it can or cannot be true but really doesn't matter because is not the point....
Anyway that's true...she is not a maestro...she is just a girl....don't forget
@marcgv6 Do you suppose he meant "These particular girls can do much better", Mr. Clueless? Perhaps you should use your brain before running your mouth. Barrister has been supportive of these two in many of their other videos. If he's not lavishing praise, he must have a reason.
@TempoFurioso he's not insulting them, so i don't know how you got defensive over there. I don't mean to fight Mr. Barrister's battles for him (well this is hardly a battle), but I agree with him. Their technique is superb, but I also have the feeling they're only playing these technically difficult pieces just to show off, rather than to deepen their musical understanding of this emotionally demanding piece.
@NoPreservativesAdded we can't say that... it is hard to judge the motive of others... we can't say what they are playing for, we can only see if the performance is good. but then again, that is also a subjective thing... and even if they are just showing off, there is nothing wrong with that... that is part of perfecting technique... and she is still on the level of perfecting her technique
8O When I saw this girl I thought to myself :"Ooooh noooo, enough of little children playing violin... this is a so horrible sound... But I have to admit that SHE RUUUUULES ! She's just AMAZING
o.O is that a del gesu violin? shes really really really improved a ton from her first few videos! What an incredible work ethic... so easy to just say shes gifted or talented. The truth is shes a hard worker!
Is this the same "Valerie" that played the Chopin "Black Key" etude? If so, she's a genius just like the Russian guy who plays Paganini and Rachmaninoff on violin and piano, respectively, at the same concert!
Wonderful. Simply beautiful. No wonder Valerie was first chair in the Youth Symphony as I heard from a friend. I also heard both are going to a VERY prestigious school because of their talent!
These 2 sisters have grown into 2 beautiful professional musicians. I love how their performances are always so simple and flawless. Bravo both Valerie and Dominique.
Anyone know how old she is? She is so great and has so much emotion in her playing. Such a mature sound. She is going to get a great scholarship to a university one day.
Well pretty girls what more can be said that has not already been said? except perhaps that I am going to ignore the YT changes and give you a galaxy of stars instead of one of their silly Thumbs Up. Excellent work.
I see a massive improvement in your playing! I'm sure you could win a competition and play this piece with an orchestra like me. It's wonderful to here such a massive orchestra behind you!
bein. merci .
