@itztheJL If you are asking about the "reee-er-reee-er-reee-er-reee-er-reee" sound,
they are insects called cicadas. You can type the word cicadas into YouTube search and find lots of videos about them that show exactly what they look like.
@car6846 I'm not sure what it did a few miles from us...but we basically got some wind, a splattering of rain, and some lightning and thunder and awesome looking clouds flying over top!
Loved it! This was exciting to watch as it sailed over! (I ran inside and watched through the window when the rain started...lol)
@PissyGranny@PissyGranny lol...mee-yeow...not to worry..."Momma Kitty" is quite healthy and ready for the 2010 storm season...she observes all extreme weather events from her safe-haven...she's been a member of the family about 5 years now.
The noise at the start of the video are cicadas...every year they start singing their songs in the trees around here about the first week in July and continue until the weather turns too cold for them.
Beats the heck outa' me...all I know is...when my sis & I stepped outside to feed the kitty we saw this stuff coming so ran back and got our cameras & started filming. I will take another look at the video, thanks! .
Hope we get plenty of these things to video this year! Thunderstorms are predicted for this area on Sunday and Monday of the upcoming week and I can hardly wait!
I remember that storm, i went fishing that day an i got a few pics of it. Very ominous looking but it didnt really produce much dangerous winds or anything. If you want to see the pics they are on my video called "Fishing is the best".
It's beautiful, spectacular, I love thunderstorms, a very nice video, I love all weather, I think they fascinate me. Thank you.

Yep, it looked mighty fierce but "it's bark was worse than it's bite". It was exciting to be able to get the footage, tho.
