  • I like most of Kevin's videos, but this one is not informative at all.

  • You're cute

  • Wow! I can't believe it shocks people that when you go to live in another country, you should learn their language. It would be a boring world if everyone could speak the same language.

  • did you say muschimuschi?

  • this vid cracked me up:)

  • こんにちはケビンさん、ケビンさんのビデオは凄いですね。

    どうしてケビンさんは日本語が分かりませんか。

    じゃ、これから一所懸命日本語を勉強して、頑張って下さい。(^_^)

  • Good luck studying Japanese, Kevin!

How much Korean did you learn while living there? IMO, it's harder than Japanese.

  • Everyone can speak english here in the Philippines....

  • This is true. I lived in India. Even today when I want to talk to people in India on the phone, unless I know they know English, even if I know a bit of their language, I get really nervous, begin sweating, and usually have my husband or inlaws (that know the language) talk for me. But if I see these same people in person I am ok....

  • haha. I'm considering becoming a ESL teacher in Korea and I never even thought of that.. I guess it will be kinda scary the first time I receive a phone call over there. At least I'll remember to say Yoboseyo!!

  • Hopefully you'll be able to say a few more words too! :)

  • pointless but worth watching

  • No one will ever accuse me of making "deep" videos! ;P

  • Hello?

    여보세요?

    I don't speak Korean...

    hahahaha !!! that is funny sh&# !!

  • if u go to China or Taiwan,

u should say 'wei' first on the phone

    it means hello as well

  • hahaha it's funny

    well, r u canadian?

I'm from S.Korea and now i study in

    Newfoundland, Canada :)

  • I am Canadian. I'm originally from Nova Scotia....not far from Newfoundland.

  • haha Good stuff Kevin! :D

  • Thanks :)

  • Phone use in a foreign country is daunting, isn't it?!

  • Without a doubt! I still try to avoid it! :)

Hope things are going well in your neck of the woods )

  • lmao! funny video man. u should definitely carry one of those translator gadgets.

  • I`d like one, but it`s hard to use them quick enough! Thanks for watching :)

  • Dude that Japanese guy in your video looked and sounded just like you, so did the Korean one...weird. I wonder if they have Youtube channels also?

  • Odd wasn't it??? I also thought that they had an uncanny resemblance to me as well! I'm glad you mentioned it cause I thought it was just me ;)

    Thanks for watching!

  • Oh my god that was hilarious!! Absolutely uncanny!!!

  • Glad you liked it!

  • yup! i totally get u!

  • For sure.

  • That's a shame! I really like Streetview!! :D

    What is LDC??

  • I think it would be cool. It is banned in Canada due to invasion of personal rights thing, People's faces were shown.

  • sorry,do not delete my post

  • The people I see on streetview have their faces blurred, but I understand why some people don't like it.

  • Streetview service many foreign country=NG japan=ok ?oh google That is weird you. sorry, japan is most ugly country.. wirescape..this is becoming a problem. but almost impossible for japan from a cost standpoint. japan is just another asian-least developed countries, too.Laugh if you must. for your information, streetview is soon to be partially regulated. because streetview is potential threat to the right to privacy
  • lol nice video!

There is something I'd like to ask. I found myself having a very good time in Japan with Google street-view (^.^) and I noticed that there are electric cables everywhere! (!_!) They often spoil the beauty of the place. Do you know why they don't have hidden cables?

  • Good question. I have no idea! I haven't started playing with Streetview yet....now I think I have to check it out. I see hours of my life wasted :)

  • This comment is posted with absolutely no fact just rumor:

I heard it was because of the earthquakes :)

  • Yeah, it's not because of earthquakes. Cables would actually be a lot safer underground during an earthquake. It's just cheaper to string them on poles above ground and easier to access.

Cables definitely ruin any landscape, especially Japan's unique street views.

  • For sure. You're right. They are pretty messy to see. Especially in older neighborhoods where they look like fires waiting to happen!

  • I fear the phone right now..... heh... it hasnt happened to me yet. At least I can hand the phone to my wife if she is around.

  • I do when my wife is around too, but now, when she isn't, I just let it ring :)

  • hah. great vid

  • Thanks!

  • is the bus/metro-subway (getting around/finding your way) confusing before you get use to it? (in Korea and Japan). Is it hard to find your way to certain places?

  • The subways in Korea are easy to navigate. A little more challenging in Japan. Buses in both countries are hard as hell...if you are an English speaker.

  • Nice video, reminded me of a few akward phone calls!

    Delete x3 :D | | | v

  • Glad you enjoyed the vid. I'll keep'em comin!

  • My channel simply isn't about politics or history.

I keep away from both issues. Nuff said!

  • ok,mr.kevin,

if you want to stay japan,

any more, you had better avoid the subject of korea.

I can tell you korea stinks.

  • good response Kevin.

What I find amusing is that some people seem to think, that simply because were on YouTube, that our channels are public forums or chat rooms or message boards. While we both encourage and appreciate comments, this is your channel and you're perfectly within your rights to regulate the flow of information on this channel.

  • For sure! My channel isn't a chat room or message board! I love comments, but when people are rude or try to make political statements...I'll delete and block their asses...they can find somewhere else to do it!

Hope Tokyo treated you well :)

  • Funny, keep em coming.

  • The only thing I can say is. rotsa ruck.

  • huh?

  • i just had a phone call today. it was the first time i didn't feel awkward. only took me 500 times! but i got there.

i still suck, though. here you can almost SEE the nervousness on the person's face through their voice. it makes me nervous, too.

  • I've only had a few of those experiences in Japan. In Korea I was a single guy so had no choice. Now in Japan, if my wife isn't home...I play possum and don't answer. Mobile phone ok....hose phone....no way!

  • Haha very goodone!

Actually i'm trying in anyway to find a job that allows me to come to Japan, so i'm trying learning japanese too.

I've never tried the "phone experience" but i had a similar one with a JR guy in Tokyo... pretty embarassing situation!

    ^^

  • I'd recommend studying before you come here! I didn't. I envy those who did :(

  • Haha, good one. :)

  • Thanks! :)

  • moshi! moshi!

  • hello? Hello? hehe

  • I feel ya man! So, how's your Japanese study coming along?

  • It's coming along. Slowly. The fact that I work in a 100%English environment doesn't help much. I'm taking classes though. Ah.....ran my first half marathon this morning....1:52:28! I for sure thought I'd be more than 2 hours....with a chest cold too! I'll post a vid in the next few days!

  • Yeah!!

I totally agree with you ma~n.

A tiny thing gives huge shock sometimes...haha

    Have a good weekend!!

  • For sure....some things people never even consider can be the most stressful!

  • The phone just plain scares me anyways, and I live in America! I dread it when it rings. Some people have a type of phone-phobia; I think I nearly do! I'd really be freaking out in a foreign land, especially when not knowing the language. I could easily live without a phone. The only reason I have a landline now is so I can have DSL, LOL! Funny video, Kevin. Looking forward to what's next in your adventures. :-)

  • Thanks so much for diggin the vid. In Asia, I've always feared the phone because of the language barrier. Back in Canada, I feared it because of the dreaded telemarketer!!!

  • Yes i m not looking forward to the phone calls if i move over there.

  • Ha ha ha ha , that is nice video, Nihonji wakarinai this the first thing I learned once I visit japan for first time on 2006 xmas days.

  • A useful phrase to know!

  • LOL! Awesome.

  • Glad you enjoyed! Have you spotted any new threats of evil lately????

  • LOL yobosayo

  • hehe thanks!

  • むしむしマイクですけどkevinさんおながいします。

  • hehe...hello to you too! Thanks for watching.

  • lol, two thumbs up. Very funny vid. The phone can definetly be a scary thing when you visit any country outside of your own.

  • Glad you enjoyed the vid. for sure...it's amazing how much easier it is to communicate in person!

  • Lol, awesome. As usual.

  • Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching. Hope you're doing well in Halifax :)

  • I totally get what you mean! Same things have happened when I first moved to US, China, and when I had tried to call my friends in Korea and their family members picked up the phone!

  • Ah...I can imagine!

  • Phone conversations, with no verbal clues and usually no context, can still be quite a challenge...

    Great vid as usual sir!

  • They sure can. It's amazing how much we can understand with the aid of nonverbal cues!

    Thanks for enjoying:)

  • try saying, hello, saranghe.

  • lol :) that made me smile

  • Awesome! Glad I was able to do that.

  • I know what you mean. I just got here about 4 months ago and my super genki boss to be interviewed me over the phone. My Japanese is pretty horrible so it was a little nerve racking to say the least.

  • Eeek...I can imagine! When I arrived here I could speak NO Japanese...it's still pretty bad :(

  • This is the funniest video I've watched of yours.

    Nice editing.

  • Cool! Glad you liked it :)

  • hahahaha thats really funny!!!!

  • Awesome...glad you liked it. A new style of video for me.

  • nice one!

  • Thanks!
