As cheesey as this music is, it really does make me feel genuine emotion... Sega surely does use lot's of old music in newer games , you see sonic adventure ... twinkle park music and windy valley's music are both on sonic 3d ( that game that u had to save flickies ) and sky chase ( the minigame ) use music from sonic 2...

Pokemon has various excellent tunes, but even then it feels like each new game has remixes, like the Gym Leader theme (STILL nothing beats the original Gym Leader theme from Red and Blue on the GB...)
