I had never played drums before and bought this starter drum kit just to test this theory. To my amazement, it actually worked. So I got a bigger and better kit and bought more sensors online. I had a total of 14 sensors hooked up at the same time. So I know I picked a lame song, and I don't sound like a very good drummer in this because I had never played before. But now I can play pretty darn well and it is all thanks to rock band. :-)

to everyone saying anything about the hi hats position, just say "i dont know anything about drumkits" because thats actually a standard position for it to be in. any other area, is just from the preference of the musician from experimenting and finding something that's comfortable for them.

Great video man! And to all who say this is fake... look at the "Fill parts" they're doing exactly what he's doing in the same time sync.

The greatest thing is for songs like "Everlong" that switch the fast hi-hat work to the red pad, you'd be able to switch the red and yellow sensors to compensate for it and make it even THAT much more realistic! Yeah the more I think about it, the more I'd love to try this out!! Thanks Groen for this upload.

Maybe that's because it's the easiest fucking song ever. I'm pretty sure the video is fake, because a sensor to detect hitting a drum like that is much more complicated than some pieces of wire, but it's meant to be a demo of that technology, not of his skill.

Actually -- his rig isn't like a rockband 2 kit which can discern between cymbals and toms, so what you hear during the fills is his hi-hat beat on the top tom (instaead of on the hi-hat like you'd hear in RB2)

u guys are fuked do u even noe how rock band drums work its nothing to do with the pad its the vibration from when its hit by the stick. theres a device that gets the virbration if u just stick that under a real drum its works the same and all he has to do is use they same pedal and the toy drums is easier to learn than real drums because its easier when u have the note chart and also u still build a lot of skill for drumming from playing rb and ghwt.
