OMG:)This is like totally EPIC!!!! and by the way you may think it sounds familiar, butttt have'nt you heard mozarts music? all his music .......or at least most has the same familiar thing to it ,so when ever you hear its like deja vu!! All great composers have this signiture touch to their music that makes other people know its theirs!! so ROCK ON...... or at least Piano on o.O
I like it but u should try making songs that DON'T quite sound familiar. This song is basically the same this as the black star. Just mixed up a little. And as a musician try something new.
Your music is beautiful. This work stirs chords within me and reminds me why I play music as well. I would like to thank you for that inspiring music you had the nerve to put on a public place like youtube. I wish I had the nerve to publish my music in public places as well.
sir i would just like to put out that you are a very skilled piano player and it saddens me to hear negative comments....you keep playing like you are, it is indeed amazing and i love it :)
@dragonforceisasem thank you, I don't mind the negative comments, because as bill cosby once said, "I don't know what the key to success is, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody."
thats how i am with guitar lol, with music its ok to be cockey unless you take it to far, i have only been playing guitar for about 3-4 months and yet im better than most people that have been playing for 3-4 years, so i have my own band and we still need vocals but we will take our talent to the max, you keep doing what you love man
why are people saying that the piece is dumb or whatever? it's wonderful, mysterious, and eery... i love creepy, becautiful songs like this. i LOVE THIS SONG! :D
@KevinVang1000 A little appreciation for his efforts would be nice. I think it sounds a fair amount different from Black Star. Just the start is similar and then at about 3:30 it takes a few more traits, but that's just MY opinion.
Beautiful work and i believe the piece is great =) Thanks for the effort, i have a major piano obsession and you are hitting all the right notes (see what i did thar?) xD
if you look at the piece, aren't they the same? If they are, then it's a boring piece which represented that the composer was out of ideas that he decided to take some ideas from his last piece to make it into this.
I expected to be different like the sonata's of Beethoven. Almost every one of them are different and yet, they are the continuation of the sonatas, right?
Truth be told, I think I like your improvs more. (Don't gey me wrong, I love all of your music) You're improvs feel more...random, I guess.. It changes up alot. The mood stays slightly the same, but the song becomes dramatically different throughout the song. You don't really see that in your compositions. Which reminds me, I'd love to see more improvs as well as compositions.
I'm not trying to be rude, mean, anything of the sort--but these songs are all just exploitations of the same scale, repeatedly. And you barely even come up with new melodies. Please, next time you come up with something, try instead of just playing a bunch of notes in the same scale. Anyone can do that.
@ktm64 Again, will you stop wasting your time and everyone else's? And yes, I am going to reply to every single one of your comments that is negative concerning musicalbasics music.
@fiyrdragon5 You don't get it, do you? I don't care about anyone else or anything else than the composer and his/her song. Which is why I commented. Not because I want to convince everyone that he sucks. HE DOESN'T SUCK. Sure, his songs might, but him--no. I think all he needs is a little more creativity and maybe a composition teacher. I'll say again, I'm pretty blunt when it comes to criticism, and that's just a flaw of my own i'll deal with in the future. But for now, he needs a new method.
@ktm64 As I said in a previous comment, you aren't much helping anyone. I know that it is very easy to be blunt in critque, but I've learned that you don't need to shatter them. You make it to where they think their music is terrible. What you need to do is make them realize they've got issues and help them fix them. If all you're going to do is make them feel bad, back off. You aren't helping.
i did begin to wonder whether the theme that keeps coming up in the four similar pieces were indicative of your works... but maybe i should've checked out a few more before thinking that lol. anyway, great work. i've had the black star in my head all day and been loving it. got the sheet music and have started practising it... i'm developing quite an appreciation of your work here. good stuff.
I need to learn this song. Truly amazing, you have a gift and you use it well, I wish I could play as well as you do, 5/5 and I am only amateur but I'm still pretty good.
Good point =) actually, it is because this song was originally intended as a "sequel" to The Black Star. So while Waltz of the Living Night, Night Moon Rising, Black Star, and this one have a few lines in common, you'll find the rest of my songs are quite different ^^
yeah well the the dark part of the moon is caused by the earths shadow so it should be "shadow cast on the moon by the earth with the size relative to the time of the month and the posititon of the sun and earth" ... anyway, such a great song, i love it!
Beautiful, epic, mysterious, etc. wow It's a wonderful music the one you play, I'm going to learn to play the piano so I can express myself this way!!! :D
The moon is round, if you look at it you'll realise it looks flat because of our perspection. Actually it's spinning so fast that we can only see one side...
Of course, but the moon doesn't have a shadow on earth. In fact, a shadow implies that it has to be cast upon something, while the "dark side of the moon "is merely because no light is going there. There is no "moon shadow" in space. It's the difference between looking at someone's shadow and their shaded back.
Wow ...... dude, you're really good at making variations. I'm impressed. I can totally see you making music for Video Games, Anime and a few cool films.
