I've been to most home games and watched everyone of them and know all three of those guys. OK you got me on Shelley being scratched, but other teams know it's just for that night and yes they act differently because they know we have to play them again. Players have already commented on not having to fight Shelley and it's also a strange coincidence that we are on a slide since Jody left and SJ is on a roll. There's your wasted roster spot theory.

Gm you might call them better fighters to watch, but they're certainly not in the sheriff category and get under players skin like JS did. San Jose got exactly what they were looking for. Sometimes your sheriff doesn't even have to hit the ice to be effective. I guarantee you opposing teams would rather fight Tolly or Boll than trading rocks with Shelley. That is a fact!

I am straight calling them better fighters. I don't agree that Shelley got under players skin more than Boll does. If you believe that so be it, but it tells me you haven't seen Boll play night in & night out this year. Towson said Shelley wasn't going to be resigned.

Shelley only played in 31 games this season because he was commonly a healthy scratch. Is that what you mean by "sheriff doesn't even have to hit the ice to be effective"?

Shelley was a waste of a roster spot. Sure, the kids love him & he is great with the fans, but he's not even a good fighter. If San Jose was trying to trade for him earlier in the season, I don't know why Towson didn't let him go. He might have gotten better than a 6th round pick. Tollefson, Jared Boll, & even Adam Foote are better fighters, plus they have puck handling skills.
