  • Everyone needs to stop bitching and just LISTEN >:C

  • I love this song...:(

  • Why is this song so beautiful.

  • Opeth is one of my favorite bands...But I really hate it when Mr. Cookie Monster comes.

  • @Coocoopuff180 If you're not keen on growling, you should try their latest album "Heritage", no growls whatsoever.

  • @mutlukats I just bought Heritage, I thought it was okay. But I fell in love with Damnation.

  • somehow seems.... unfinished.

  • יעל שלי אני אוהב אותך:(((

  • It's beautiful as every time I listen to Opeth (and it happens very very very often) I fall in love with a new song :Q__

  • I listen to this Song every morning it's awesome

  • Looking through my window

    I seem to recognize

    All the people passing by

    But I am alone

    - Now thats deep. True masters of music

  • Comfortable

  • wow.. this is cool. it would be good for a soundtrack.. hmm...ideas..

  • Excuse me while I tie my noose.

  • this song gives me chills every time.

  • this song is so R&B / Soul-ish. Michael is a legend.

  • Can the imbeciles please stop making shitfuck comments on this beautiful piece, it's almost contradictory.

  • The solo sounds so alone.

  • @firef1yyy I agree. the whole song is the sound of loneliness. when i was making a huge decision of my life, i sat awake in bed for about 7 hours listening to this over and over til I knew what decision I would make. made me feel even more lonely but it helped.

  • It's amazing how much music moves you. This song just puts me in a different mindstate completely.

  • oh holy shit, this is the song destiny plays on his stream

  • i could die right now

  • @reaper2ooX lol dude relax. It's a good song but that comment's a little overboard haha

  • @OctagonBiTcH lol

  • every time I'm listening to this song, I begin to think of what I've done wrong in my life...

  • 5 people can't stand good music

  • say you get an hour of wealth for every minute opeth play a song, you would be covered for a while seeing how long their songs are....

  • Hearing this just makes me want to be sitting in my leather armchair by the hearth in my English mansion, sipping scotch on the rocks, while pondering where I went wrong...

  • @Casowsky loved this comment aha

  • @Casowsky Damn, I don't have a leather armchair.

  • @Casowsky If you've got your own English mansion then i'd say you're doing pretty damn good

  • I personally can't stand the band, but I can see why people like it. Go Opeth.

  • @SycamoreHill14 Fair 'nuff

  • what do you mean only 5:19 of wealth? listen to every opeth song, add up the minutes, and that's how much wealth there

  • makes me wet

  • @strangejonesbitch lol agreed

  • One of Opeth's greatest songs......beautiful, poignant, haunting and a bit bluesy during the verse........

  • very lovely, liked it so much.inspiring!

  • im listening to this while i'm working right now :)

  • 5 PEOPLE ARE EMINEM FANS...

  • @DISARRAY3 so the hell what ...?

    eminem is a good rapper

i am big fan of eminem and i am big fan of opeth and porcupine tree

i do lsn to music according to my mood

  • Shit, now I've got to learn to play this song...

  • i want this song in my funerals !!!!!!

  • @Jamyjamyhamy I didn't know that you could have more than one. :O

  • @Jamyjamyhamy How many times u gonna die?

  • waw

  • I guess 5 people like Justin Bieber .. or hate good music because someone that has talent is showing it... But yeah Awesome band and song..

  • @darkmousy2007 please stop posting annoying comments mentioning that kids name, whats the point of coming on here to just hate on a talent-less kid. comment on the song or on the band.

  • 5 people are cold and bitter.

  • Love this song. BF wants this to play at his funeral. Can't wait to see Opeth this Sept!

  • Love this song. BF wants this to play at his funeral. Can't wait to see Opeth this Sept!

  • It does not make sense to me how you could listen to this and walk away not feeling any emotions

  • wonderful educated, unconventional musically arranged, and stunning feel

    shit! it's brilliant!

  • think this song is about a person who is far more brilliant and advanced than others. he feels pain to see that no one understands where he is coming from. his time is a dark time and he has the solution. now in my opinion alot of metal is associated with satanic and occult themes, that's just the way it is. but people are so ignorant they have no idea what that even means. satanism is an advanced belief system, the oldest on this planet.

  • @GuitarCoverErik All belief systems are advanced, because you have to be in the advanced stages of Down Syndrome to fall for them

  • @NWG92

I know i'm just saying what this song is about :) and your comment was really dumb though.. you are probaly believing in yourself so you are a satanist without even knowing it haha

  • @GuitarCoverErik it is very advanced and based on some of the oldest known principles and facts, but the actual religion is not the oldest. i do agree... sometimes u know so much or have so many realizations that u are in the dark and alone because nobody seems to understand you.

  • @GuitarCoverErik How is it advanced?

  • @whatjamaican

it's just a quote i read on a lyrics site ^^ i liked it so i put it here had lots more text but not enough space :/

  • @GuitarCoverErik Ghost reveries is a concept album about a man who gets possessed by a malefic entity and kills his family, this song is part of the story.

  • @mamaloney1 Holy shit, really? :O

  • @TheRaven0us Yes, take a look at the lyrics. The opening part of Ghost of Perdition is when he kills his mother, The Grand Conjuration is about his possession by the malefic entity.

  • @GuitarCoverErik

i'm sorry but "satanism is the oldest belief system on this planet" might be the absolute dumbest thing i've seen on youtube.

also i'm curious how you came to think about the song (actually curious, not being sarcastic!) i can't really see it at all.

  • @callinthelaw69

the Satanist does not worship Satan in the theistic sense, but is an adversary to all spiritual creeds and religions. actually a modern pagan religion, and is concentrated on a more peaceful, harmonious and balanced way of life. It is actually a belief system that is of pre-Christian that is mostly how our ancestors lived and worshipped. It is known to be one of the oldest belief systems known in the world today, and is generally frowned upon by the modern Christian church

  • @GuitarCoverErik The term "satan" emerged from christian beliefs and is part of christianism, so your argument is invalid

  • @TheRaven0us I guess "jewish" would be more precise, as example, go to the Hiob book's introduction. But that's just a detail.

Where i will (maybe) agree with you, is that : who the heck cares about beliefs and other bullshit, be it oldest or newest on this planet, when you got such a masterpiece in your ears. Honestly, how can people even write such pointless comments?

    For Christ's sake! :B

  • @D3letedSoul Well said, sir.

  • @D3letedSoul

I don't care either i just post a comment how i relate to this song and everyone here is going nuts about it, not my problem haha... and i love this song <3

  • this is so beautiful.

  • Try playing this song with Nyan Cat. It doesen't work. But it's still fun to do.

  • 100 pulgares arriba por OPETH

    WOOOOOOH

  • love this song great stuff

  • "Looking through my LIFT SHACK window, I seem to recognize -all the people passing by" (skiers and snowboarders)

"But I'm alone, and far from home" (but I think I see it down there-

"And nobody knows me." Okay, maybe a few know me.

  • this is a absolute masterpiece, great musicianship!

    beautiful feel...

  • I would rather listen to Big L than that Nickleback ripoff shit that they play on the radio these days.

  • Makes me think back on High School. I isolated myself from everyone else, and became a recluse. Would use isolation as a way of hiding from my own problems. I missed out on so much. A first friend. A first date. A first kiss. Love. I had so much free time with no responsibility. I elected to wait out my time until college, thinking I would be away from everyone else, and I can start anew. Which was true. But now that that's over, I feel I missed out on so much.

    HS'ers out there: Don't wait.

  • is perfect... the best of the world

  • get a life rap blows its own nigger dick regardless of his or her own color

  • @ladythom You are the one who needs to get a life; music can be excellent regardless of what genre it is.

  • Dat soul.

  • 5:19 minutes of wealth.

  • @UnauthorizedAssassin

He titled it "Hours of Wealth" because he knew I would listen to it 24 times in a row.

  • @UnauthorizedAssassin way to make yet another retarded minute/like/dislike post, thus adding to the "wealth" of other retarded comments...ya douche.

  • What a sound!! (The singing part).

  • His voice was made for this song.

  • The true soul of Opeth. Makes me wanna cry like a homo.

  • @pineapplepeanuts don't write hpmo int eh same place as opeth... you must make atonement... by deleting teh comment

  • @societyforrealmusic spellcheck, please.

  • HOW ON EARTH was rap brought up on this video...

  • @galimat000 I know right?..

  • 3 people will never experience an Hour of Wealth.

  • @RyanVonFleming Fuck sake I will find each and every one of you retarded bastards that leave those types of comments. I will then proceed to rip off your head and shit down your neck while simultaneously fucking your nostrils. Prick.

  • @StereotypicallyIrish YOU will never experience hoursof welath ^-^

  • wondering about a funeral song for me?

  • @Jorvas25 Fuck you man lol, now I want this as mine.

  • @KhaosReborn lol :D can't blame you man.

  • I'm a huge dream theater fan and i'm just starting to get into opeth. I got ghost reveries and still life. listened to both all the way through and i'm now just letting it sink in. The growling vocals, something i'm not used to are starting to grow on me and i'm trying to keep an open mind about it. But what is a really good cd to get into opeth? for a dream theater fan? i think i like ghost reveries the most out of the two i got.

  • @senecadawg2 Get Blackwater Park.

  • @senecadawg2 Blackwater park and Watershed are your best bet I'd say. Or damnation if you're still not sure about growling, since it is all clean vocals. Drapery falls and Hessian Peel got me into growling i'd say. Watershed is their most progressive, and Blackwater park is just the best overall lmao. So get both. On second thought, buy all of their albums, cuz everything is good :P

  • @senecadawg2 if you're in a bluesy mood then you should try out damnation as well. no growling vocals at all, just pure emotion!

  • .......Incredible. The melodies in Opeth's music just flow so brilliantly. They are truly an inspiring band to listen to. The guitar solo is full of such feel and passion, yet it's chilled out in a way that makes it just.....perfect. The tone blows me away. And nothing in Opeth is unnecessary. Every part is there because it needs to be there.

Props for all times, you guys are musical geniuses.

  • nothing better than this song to this day silent

  • this a vary vary nice song

  • this song reminds me of the sea... traveling in peace...

  • mikael is by far my favorite guitarrist, not by his tecnical skills, but the melodies he creats are unparallel to any other guitar player. Opeth my favorite band

  • My old music teacher said she loved music. But i asked about several genres, she said she hated them all. How can you love music if you hate so much of it?

  • I've listened to metal all of my life, yet Opeth will always be the band to bring out the most emotion in me. Everytime I listen to Ghost Reveries, I become a new person.

  • Everyone im sorry for my faggy comment^ up their. It was 6 months ago so I didn't know better. But Opeth is one of the most amazing things that have ever came into my life musically... So yeah.

  • what talent does it take to makeup a word that is not a word in the first.

  • Mikael, you bluesy bastard.

  • @legendofzelda101

All the scoria like you looks like the best ignorants of the world. Like a false metealhead kids HUAHIAIAIHAHIAHIAH... its not nice to hear some foolishness... all the metalhead kids about 15 years old that they think they know everything ......... and the are only closed minds by his fanaticism, blinded by his selfs xDDDDDD

  • @legendofzelda101

i asume you talk about the feel ;- )

  • opeth forever

  • Love these first notes so much

  • opeth for life

  • BADASS solo duuuuuuudessssss!!!!!

  • what a song!!! one of the greatest songs ever!!! OPETH!!!!

  • what a song!!!

  • guys i started to listen to opeth and i loved them very much i am a guitar player and looking for best riffs that opeth made i really need it

  • @4everTOBEapart On the song 'Dirge for November' in the beginning after the singing, on top of the acoustic guitar there is an electric guitar riff. I heard it and forgot what song it was and for weeks it killed me, then I finally remembered.

  • @4everTOBEapart Ending riff from songs Deliverance and many riff parts (icluding the ending part) from Reverie/Harlequin Forest, All the riffs from songs Bleak, April Ethereal and Atonement, Beginning riff of the song Ghost Of Perdition. Riffs from Windowpane. If you ask for a solo, That would be indoubtly(I know I spelled that word wrong) A Funeral Portrait. Thats all I can come up with right now. There are of course many other good riffs from them but I just cant remember at the moment.

  • 1:49 - 2:23 Makes me think of the water levels in Donkey Kong Country.

  • sussurri di...lacrime, poesia, segreti. So much emotion!!

  • What a fantastic song... They (Opeth) sure are an unique and awesome formation.

  • This is so amazing... Perfect. And I can't compare it to any hip hop or anything since it has nothing to do with that gender, and I don't even like that stuff. But this is simply great.

  • this song was perfect one afternoon while driving through a lonely and foggy country road

  • does anyone know any other bands good like Opeth? apart from Porcupine Tree, because they are pretty much both in a category of their own

  • @LolOmmfgWtf

Check out maudlin of the Well.

  • @LolOmmfgWtf If you ask for metal music, Dream Theater in my opinion, although they are somewhat different they have some really great albums like Scenes from a Memory and Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence. If you ask for rock music, King Crimson and Van Der Graaf Generator deals a killing blow.

  • @BLooDCoMPleX i like King Crimson and Dream Theater, but dunno that other one ill give them a listen

  • Im trying to do my latin homework to this song (well the whole GR album) and i can't concentrate on my homework :P Great song definitly one of their best!

  • ummm, #1 question everyone is asking themselves subconsciously, why are there 3 dislikes?!

  • @mafiadude141414 that's the number 2 question actually.. the number one is why are there only 306 likes? that's fucking retarded!

  • Beautiful

  • i could fall asleep and die to this song because its one of the most beautiful songs ever that make such an lovely, somber, ahprodisiac sound it has to be the last thing you hear alive and the first thing you hear in death

  • awesome

  • Opeth are the less bless recess in the sense that oblivion caccapipì in the moment of dinner argesilao.

  • In my opinion, this is what makes them great: they do death metal and growling and can switch so elegently to calming music. They sound great either way, like both styles are just as good as the other

  • Found a way to rid myself clean of pain And the fever that's been haunting me Has gone away Looking through my window I seem to recognize All the people passing by But I am alone And far from home And nobody knows me Never heard me say goodbye Never shall I speak to anyone again All days are in darkness And I'm biding my time Once I'm sure of my task I will rise again
  • ci vorrebbe una trombetta.

  • Opeth's drummer is on the top of the tree in my garden. What the hell is he doing there?!

  • I love Opeth

  • such an amazing song <3

  • 1:02 to 2:23

I could listen to it all day. And I shall.

  • This song would be perfect to listen to while walking into a dark morning mist...

  • I LOVE THIS FUCKIN SONG!

  • really awesome song

  • While in a really deep sleep, this song came on my ipod... Its so emotional and powerful that it woke me up... <3

  • @AsceticVoidTraveller kill yourself

  • @AsceticVoidTraveller You must be related to Helen Keller.

  • @AsceticVoidTraveller

I took a deep grin that came from deep within me , and I nodded.

  • i dont understand why bands like opeth and porcupine tree dont get the recognition they deserve. this music is amazing, full of soul and meaning. and only 35,000 views? its almost sickening...
