My parakeet is weird, a long time ago she would get on fingers, but I didn't follow the advise to keep her wings clipped. So to get back in to her cage, I would get her on my forefinger and I would put my thumb on top of her feet to keep her from flying away. Now she must get on the back of the hand or my actual arm. She'll bite my fingers otherwise...

@shykitty786 If you still need advice for your bird: You've gota get a cudle bone for her beak, it's a white oval looking thing, you put it on the inside of the cage and they nibble on it. It will dull down her beak so it doesn't get to sharp or to long. Most birds try anything they find to do this, but a cudle bone will be best. Just go to the pet store and ask for a Cudle Bone for birds. :) Oh and you'll need to clip her nails to if they look to long. :)

You lost me at clipping. If you clip your birds wings whats the point of even trying to hand tame it. He won't be able to get away from you even if he wanted to.

Its safer.

My bird is a full flighted congo, I have not clipped him because I want to train him to fly and get his excersize.

But with smaller birds with weak bones if you take them out (A budge in this case) and he or she was to go fast because their wings were not cleaned up he could hit the window on his head and snap their neck and suffer.
