No the camera operator didn't set the camera to manual exposure so the camera was trying to adjust it automatically to either the brighter sky in the background or the dark foreground.

The black "dip" was just the camera adjusting to the brighter background... (which was previously over-exposed). It then readjusted back to the foreground.

I believe this is a hi-tech trick - image recognition of the cards. He's going through the deck for about 4 seconds. Normal camera is 50 half-frames per second, it means 4 half-frames per card in average. No problem for a computer IMO.

I can memorize a deck of card or look through a deck of cards and know which one is missing. But no one has ever done it where they just riffle through the deck. As someone else said on here, the world record is something like 30 seconds for a deck. Darren, the magician wouldn't be cheating, would he? I'm not saying he doesn't have the mnemonic system mastered. I'm saying he no doubt uses it when you don't think he is and doesn't use it when he claims to be.
