  • the 'neues museum' confronts not only contemporary and historical ideas of substantiation but also the collective memories of a lost monument with the dream of a new one. it is radically calm and understanding project.

  • Lets see... People around the world flock to Italy, probably the world mecca for awe-inspiring structures. You won't see millions traveling in droves across the world to look at flat, stark buildings. From the many examples I've seen, modern arch' is boring to the senses like a visual desert. Yet, I can find pleasing contemporary arch' but I wouldn't say much of it is truly inspiring. Everyone has different tastes. So, if it pleases you, build it.

  • @Fantageous I truly agree. I understand why some people like modern architecture but it definitely does not sit with me. I love the older styles, especially Victorian which I know can be extreme in itself. Modern architecture just seems to lack interest: I am sorry but a cement, glass, and metal building is just boring and cheap looking to me.
