  • @BurmaRocks Thank you! :D Im not sure what you mean but I used screenflow :)

  • @shamurocks111 oh never mind. I was just wondering how you got the footage.

  • What a beautiful tribute. She had an amazing smile. I hope though that we humans learn from this. Orcas were never meant to be in captivity. RIP Dawn.

  • @Jacqsaltyone Thank you. She did have an amazing smile :) By the way thank you for voicing your opinion in a calm mature manner (: Unlike some people who cuss at me say it was stupid call me names and dislike my videos -_-

  • @shamurocks111 I have my Dawn Brancheau foundation band on my wrist 24/7. I know Tili wouldn't have hurt his friend on purpose. He was playing. She was finally in the tank with him and he wanted to keep her. He has no idea what he did, and Dawn obviously trusted him to get so close. This was an accident. x

  • @TakeThatForever83 I believe it was an accident but we never will know what really happened. She wouldnt want people blaiming Tilly. Im very sorry to hear about your dad :'( God bless you <3

  • Look it happened an Maybe Dawn let her guard down 4 that 1 single moment & Maybe Tilly saw Play or maybe he saw red we will never know as we can not mind read whales & we can not speak to Dawn! But all I can say is it was Dawn's time to go an god wrapped his arms around her an said come with me! An She Died working with the animals she loves from the bottom of her heart! I bet she wouldn't want people blaming Tilly! God bless u Dawn with the Angels now! (Dawn died 14yrs to the day my Dad died)

  • This is an absolutely fantastic and beautiful video. Dawn loved these animals so very much, and it truly showed in the way she worked with them. I think this is a fitting tribute to the woman that swam with whales :)

  • @NamuTheOrca :') Thank you sooooo much! I love all your comments :DDDDD <3

  • Tilikum is an orca who has his own personality, i believe orcas have that ability. Also compared to the whales born at sea world. Tilikum was one of those captured whales. and therefore exhibits more natural behavior. The other whales are more gentle because they depend and trust their trainers too much as they grew up with them. And i don't know if maybe it's because he's a male? I wouldnt use that as an excuse. as Keiko was a male and also captured and never exhibited violent behaviour?

  • I mean it's one thing to be against captive animals. and I don't support it either. In this case yes there are a few that were captive but its too late to undo whats been done. and the other whales were born and raised at sea world they just wouldn't do in the wild. But anti captivity people don't even consider putting them back in the ocean is just as cruel if not worse! You say free them but have no strategy to allow or show them how to survive?

  • @KyOkanagan I absoultely HATE animal abuse but Seaworld is NOT animal abuse. Tilly really never should of been captured but its not like he gets tortured or abused and he couldnt get released so at least he has a loving caring home at seaworld :)

  • @KyOkanagan If their death would be certain if released, then we must build a bigger waterpark if we're to house them for life. It's the least we can do. Why should the waterpark profit from the whales, without the whales themselves seeing any benefit from their situation? But if this is not possible, then perhaps keep them until they die and then never catch more. It should be against the law. It would be best to visit the whales in their natural habitat. Extremely rare occurence.

  • @kawadave79 you and your anti cap buds are so pathetic. there are already plans to expand sea world's orca tanks but that wont happen till 2025 or when the economy gets better ! BTW those whales cant survive in the wild. 1 they LOVE their trainers 2 they dont know how to hunt 3 sea world is the only place they know. how would you like to be dropped off in the forest ? they dont have to hunt their food. they are fed by the ttrainers. the trainers are pretty much their servants. SW is paradise.

  • @KingsProduction50 can you PM me the link where you heard the plans about the expansion?

  • @KingsProduction50 I hope you weren't calling me an anti cap bud of kawadave79? I was just giving that person an understanding of how these whales won't make it in the wild for very long. It is best for them to stay at seaworld where at least the people at seaworld can be held responsible for the whale's well being and survival. I'm not really anti captivity seeing as they no longer catch whales from the wild. they are all born into it. so I don't have a problem with seaworld

  • @KyOkanagan kawadave79 hates captivity but supports whaling !

  • Are you serious? That is the most hypocritical thing I've ever seen. Not to you by the way I'm directing that to kawadave79. Your saying he doesn't support captivity. Yet has no problem going out and killing one? Hmm if anything the orcas should stay in captivity to be safe from idiots like him!

  • @KyOkanagan in captivity, they are safe from whalers(even though they dont go after orcas anymore) they dont get killed by boat proppellers and they are fed instead of wasting energy chasing prey so the trainers ar pretty much their waiters !

  • @KingsProduction50 Umm okay... Well I'm not totally certain captivity would be a "haven" for orcas. It's not their fault that humans built large ships and boats to cross their natural habitat and put the orcas in danger of being hit. And I don't think orcas have a problem on wasting energy for hunting prey. They are after all built for long endurance and speed. And I know in general whalers don't really go after them. I was refering to another comment on here. haha

  • @KyOkanagan lol i was like :O What did I do?!?!? That's what I Said!

  • @kawadave79 It is against the law to capture orcas or any dolphins in any region of north america. That practice has stopped quite a long time ago. Mainly due to the fact that the southern resident population off Vancouver Island Canada and Washington State was brought down very significantly and thus issued a stop to live captures for any north american aquatic parks. And by the way I have seen them in their natural habitat many time of my life seeing as I live on Vancouver Island.

  • @kawadave79 Canada and the southern resident pods hang around there throughout the summer and spring. I remember my first whale watching tour ever and it was amazing! A few whales came very very close to our boat and another spy hopped right beside our boat that was a great experience. But yes I see them in the wild all the time and am glad to have the opportunity to do so. I'm even majoring in marine science and biology and plan to do oceanic conservation and research out when done.

  • @kawadave79 Mainly because orcas are my favorite animal in the world. I've gained so much knowledge of them through my life reading and researching. And now I'm planning to help with the conservation of these awesome creatures as It concerns me that the southern resident population is classified as endangered and really want to help them make a come back in any way as I would hate to see them die out.

  • Thanks shamurocks111. I watched a video earlier the behind the scenes video. It shows how much the trainers really loved their animals. Dawn included. The commenter on here is trying to bring a negative effect to this video. Yes the whales were taken but the majority of the whales are actually born there. And have built up a family there so it would be useless to separate them when this is their family and they have calves. Releasing tilikum wouldn't work. Look what happened to Keiko!

  • You can feel sorry for the woman, but she's dead now. Her poor family having to live with that sad fact. But what about Shamu the massive whale living with its poor family ...in a bath-tub. Rewarded if it does what its told? that is abuse, these animals are tough and can take abuse, but why feel sorry for the human when they get abused back? Whales usually swim for thousands and thousands of miles. These ones can't. Maybe Dawn should have gotten a job helping animals instead of abusing them.

  • @kawadave79 Dawn LOVED the animals as her own children she would NEVER EVER hurt them in any way shape or form! These animals are NOT "abused" they get rewarded no matter what! They get 3 meals a day and have bonding and play sessions. Please do research before commenting on my videos

  • @shamurocks111 Then I have to wonder if she kept her own children locked up under lock and key in the basement. The whales should be FREE (willy). Whales in captivity in 2011 almost 2012, it's just wrong.. it's always been wrong and you know it. I have little sympathy for those that encourage this type of cruelty to animals. The same goes for bullfighters and the likes.. As for research, I've done plenty, I think you should research more. If Shamu rocks, why not let him rock all over the world?

  • @kawadave79 There are only 6 killer whales in captivity that came from the wild. If you set them free they would DIE! All the other orcas were BORN in captivity they dont know any different! I DO NOT support bull fighting dog racing circus's or anything else that is cruel to animals. By the way i hope you know Shamu passed away many years ago ;)

  • @shamurocks111 Well that's 6 too many. And I don't think they would die if released, and even if they did.....it beats letting another human being die.. Don't you agree? How about this, they capture a Whale, and make it perform to their whims and when it kills someone, it's allowed to go back home? Is that fair?

Money same old story....it's all about the money. The only way to see a whale should be IN THE SEA. (Or on a plate in a Japanese restaurant)

  • @kawadave79 so your against captivity but not whailing? Sick sick person that's all i can say.....

  • @shamurocks111 Sorry to come across harsh.. All Im trying to say is, I want all animal-kind to have a good life before death. Which means not stopping all whaling altogether. As long as the whale is mature. Sad I know but we all have natural predators. and given the choice I'd choose to be killed rather than be prisoner somewhere small especially. Ok how about they make the water park about 50 times bigger, and add more whales to keep them company.. What do you think? :)

  • @kawadave79 its fine :) That sounds good :)

  • @kawadave79 you are so pathetic ! vete al diablo el cabron !

  • @KingsProduction50 how bout i drop you off in the forest. mmkay? :)

  • @kawadave79 youll have to get me first el cabron. btw you support whaling ?!

  • @KingsProduction50 MY HOVERCRAFT IS FULL OF EELS!

  • @kawadave79 ????

  • @kawadave79 LOL LOL LOL. you are so stupid, its funny ! LMFAO !

  • @kawadave79 I am Spanish and I know exactly what bullfighting is, and you can't compare it with the love between a trainer and a whale. No way.

I'm against bullfighting because it doesn't make anything good to the animals. NOTHING. But these people are showing the World we have to take care of every creature that shares this planet with us, including orcas.

  • @Corkian I've nothing against people showing us that we have to take care of every creature, but the whales don't need to be in captivity to achieve this. Most people can see a whale or any other animal they want on youtube can't they? So why bother with the stupid waterparks and zoos now. Let all the animals free, unless theyre sick. Animal sanctuarys are great arent they!!

  • @kawadave79 Did you know the navy could kill any orca who get near of the beach before they where put in captivity and we learned they weren't killers? And there are only a few whales in captivity who came from the wild. And most of them are having a great life, being cared by their trainers. Watch animals in a video doesn't make you feel their strenght, power, their soul!

  • @Corkian The Spanish navy? That's pretty cool! Theyre named accurately in my opinion, though i don't mind them being killers.

....respect to Dawn for having the guts to risk going in the water with them. I just think enclosing animals is sad. I've seen animals look so sad. Animals are extremely perceptive when it comes to reading peoples eyes and body language....I imagine the whales know that they are prisoners. They see how people look at them. They must see the "hidden" heartache.

  • @kawadave79 I was talking about the USA navy...

If you could see the whales there with your own eyes, you'll know how much they enjoy human contact: pets, kisses, games... Without waterworks you only make their life worse. They want to be in close contact, they LOOK FOR close contact. That's a fact.

  • @kawadave79 I understand you are against this. I am to for the most part. But you have to realize that just throwing them back in the wild is just as useless and abusive. Tilikum has been there since he was 2 years old. He could never regain the ability to survive. Look what happened to keiko the actual free willy star. They spent years and years trying to train him to free him. And it was a failure! Keiko was also captured from the wild as well. As for the others they never knew the ocean.

  • @kawadave79 And therefore that is useless. They do not FORCE the whales to do tricks and not feed them if they don't that is indeed animal abuse but they don't do that at all. They never force the whales to do anything it's the whales' decision to do what they want. They have cancelled shows just because the whale's didn't want to do it. Also all the whales there are now a pod. You free one, then you have to free them all, and most of them have never been in the wild. They would all perish.
