@dub16100 Stevens was almost 40 years old here. Brashear was a heavyweight goon, who loved fighting guys who were tough, but not goons, way too often. Jerome Iginla is tough, but would I be impressed with Derek Boogaard for kicking his ass? hell no. There's a reason people weren't that upset when brashear got brained by McSorley. One, huggybear picked on too many skilled players. Two, he taunted other teams during the game, and refused to fight other heavyweights, after he beat up skill players.

But, when Georges Larague was asked who the most feared fighter was in the NHL - about 3 years ago - he said, Brashear. I'm thinking Big Georges might know a bit more about goonery than yourself.

@dub16100 That's a lie. He may have said that 8-10 years ago, but in 2007, Laraque was asked who the best fighter in the NHL was besides himself, and his answer without hesitation was Wade Belak. Later in the interview, he said that Brashear is the strongest guy he's faced, but that Belak was a better fighter. Interestingly enough, a year after the interview, Belak KO'd Brashear, and it was the first time I ever saw Donald dropped.

In fact, Laraque hates Brashear, and I challenge you to produce the clip of Laraque saying that Brashear was the most feared fighter in the NHL in 2007. I'll be more than happy to provide a link to his comment that Wade Belak was the best fighter other than himself.

It's their job to fight other goons, or to go after a player that throws a dirty hit on one of his teammates. Brashear went out of his way on multiple occasions to go after skilled players, and that's always been a knock against him.

He won the Conn Smythe trophy as finals MVP in 2000, and is a 1st ballot hall of famer. Just because he could hit and fight, doesn't mean he isn't a skill player!

And in the 80's and early 90's goons did not go after star players. Show me Jay Miller going after Gretzky or Dennis Savard. Show me Kordic going after Ray Bourque. U know nothing!

If you think it was a goons job to attack skilled players, then why can't I find 500 videos on youtube of guys like Twist, Probert, Byers, Kordic, Grimson, and Odjick attacking guys like Gretzky and Lemieux on a daily basis??? If that was their job, Gretzky would have never lasted an entire season.
