yeah and its such a convenient shape for me to carry around.
perfect for me because i love putting random objects in the oven and dropping them into water. running things over with my car is also a important past time in my family.
@gregwithnail It can survive because the tire conforms around it; to the tire it's just like a rock and the other tires take up much of the weight. If the had a 10 ton crusher and threw it in it would be destroyed. The key itself can probably take about 1-2 ton max and then be screwed. On a side note unless it was being run by a 250+ horsepower engine and had diamond cutters I don't think the blender will blend it.
out of my nearly 20 years of living iv never cam close doing this kind of stuff to my usb stick. Its for sale for around £62 and id rather buy a 128gb usb stick for that price.
It's pretty good but I don't think I'll be dropping it, boiling it, freezing it or even waiting for a 10-ton truck to run it over, I'm not a bloody fugitive holding government data but if I ever become one, I'll be sure to buy it.
or i could buy a cheap one, which when it breaks can be replaced within the price of one of these. because nobody has anything stored solely on a memory stick.... you can just copy the data back on to a new one
My question would be, how can they prevent the transferring of heat (under one of the extreme condition) from the exterior ot the internal electrical component? Since the USB is pretty much made of metal? Wouldn't the heat damage the inside?
Also, I've read reviews re the accumulation of heat during & after usage??
@hxuanjie After a while the drive itself will just die from 20-30 min in the that heat but since it is flash memory maybe; the small pocket of air around it acts as an insulator; basically these tests mean that if the person that is using it is accident prone cough an idiot cough cough he or she won't lose data if the they drop it in a frying pan. I will give it an estimated rating of 100-150 Gs after that I don't know.
@releveee Yeah I was thinking about that too. i mean, "OH I'M BEING RUN OVER BY A 10 TON TRUCK! Oh, well I'm dead but atleast my usb drive still works!"
"OH GOD SOMEONE JUST LIT ME ON FIRE AND RAN AWAY! OH GOD I NOW HAVE THIRD DEGREE BURNS ON 50% OF MY BODY! Oh look, I still have my thumb drive! BUT MY THUMB HAS GONE MISSING!"
Lacie products are crap. I have had so many important files lost forever thanks to them. Out of 5 drives 3 have failed. The only thing that destroys a LaCie is time and normal use.

You could say up to 10GB/s if desired!

But i'm impressed of the product.
