  • This slope is clueless.

  • gschong: I think the real problem with all of this is that if we humans begin to view the reactions of others (no matter how the behavior was intended) we become nothing more than neurotic and egocentric. Since I work with people with psychological and behavioral disorders I realize that many of my clients tend to blow out of proportion most every situation.

  • lekkerfiss: The suicide case you speak of was not so much a case of MA, but of "macro-aggression" (i.e., bullying) and some other offenses: invasion of privacy, defamation, and possibly voyerism.

  • lekkerfiss: In the video, a caucasian WAS the recipient of "micro-aggression" (MA) but she counts as an "out-group" member because she was the lone woman in the meeting. I think Dr. Sue would agree that MA can occur in ANY direction. Other factors, such as the intention and effect (if any) must also be considered. For example in the film Gran Torino, Eastwood's character, Walt, uses MA language, but in certain cases it is simply a "salty" style of communication...nothing more.

  • this so-called psychologist claims that ethnic, social and sexual minorities suffer from little racial attacks from-Guess Who? WHITE PEOPLE...Strangely enough white people are never slighted in their interactions with others. How does Sue explain the suicide of a white male homosexual at Rutgers this past week since the students who posted his sexual encounter were both People of Color?
