that old looking strat sounds nice in your custody.

can you tell me that backingtrack?

    Take care.

  • Hi Mitchell, what is your rig on this one, I really love this sound your getting :-)

It sounds just like Davids sound.

    Danny

  • Very well !

  • when are you putting your cd out. man i love that . well done.

  • realmente hermosooooooooo...

  • amazing well done such a good song

  • Great job, MB :)

  • @MGKraest Thanks :)

  • It didnt sound like anything was wrong with the sustain, strats dont have the best sustain for technical reasons. Thats why I love them. You have a fabulous tone though.

  • I love the bends - they are spot on. Super feel all over! Hats off!!

  • im looking at this video because GilmourTrue HD liked it and it appeared in my home page ;)

  • Awesome tone and playing!!! keep up.

    cheers

  • very good girl! congratulations, you play nice!

  • very well done

  • Will you marry me?

  • what pedals do you have in your chain that you're using for this? great tone

  • @mcnabb4mvp06 I'm using Guitar Rig 4 for this...Tube compressor--Cat distortion--stomp compressor--reverb and delay.

  • Impressive!! :)

  • Great playing! I love girls who love Pink Floyd! Greeting from Poland!

  • Nice Job... :)

  • I love this song so much and you really did an excellent performance. If you are looking for more sustain try simply cranking your speakers up a bit , that may help. There are many ways to get more sustain.

  • Amazing song and well played. Mesmerizing music and hypnotic state of mind. Did not listen to this song before but I love the way it surfs thru the mind.

  • nice boobs :) i love it <3

  • wow

  • Nice!

  • esto es imprecionante, HERMOSO..!!!

  • tengo que casarme con alguien como ella :D

  • Very nice! Are you married? Because I think I found my dream girl.

  • Wow!!!! Impresionante, un saludo desde Argentina

  • Reminds me of David, Great Job!

  • Really great job! As to your sustain issue, you might want to check out the specs for pick-up height and see if yours aren't a tad too high. The magnetic drag of the pick-ups can rob you of sustain by draining the kinetic energy off the string.

  • I really have no idea what to say - i'm just sitting here grinning ear to ear over your work. Hell of a job :)

  • This is good! I'm a huge fan of Gilmour and not a very easy critic on most vids that I see. You did well, though, and I'm happy to see more Gilmour-enthusiasts such as myself!

  • Great cover - Sir Gilmour would be proud! Like F3FisGoodforYou recommended, I also use the CS-2 and love it. I highly recommend it.

  • Girl, I'm a huge fan of Gilmour and I have to say you did a great job, thank you for sharing keep it up

  • ¡Super! Gran cover.

Y una de mis canciones favoritas de Pink Floyd.

  • You sound just like Gilmour! Awesome job!

  • As a viewer and Floyd fan, I can say you did that perfectly.

  • Wow!!!! This is a great cover of a great song from David Gilmour!!!! You play very well !! Congrats from Montréal Canada ;)

  • nice... very nice, your tone is quite sweet. when you have a chance check out my breathe demo w/ my home made rotating speaker lol. keep preaching

  • Menneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

  • Nicely tuned bendings! congrat on that... (most people got em all wrong) :)

  • Excellent. Just learned the solo myself, it's realyy fun to play along to.

  • Bravissima !!!!!!!! excellent ^_^

  • I don't hear a problem with the sustain...sounds great to me! You play with feeling and very close attention to pitch...all the characteristics of Gilmour's playing that many miss...

  • Wow!!! Drank 3 gallons of whiskey and still sad WOW. Can you do dogs?

  • @PYSCOPOMP Working on the main solo for Dogs, which will most likely be my next vid.

  • @PYSCOPOMP And thanks, hope you're feeling ok after drinking 3 gallons. ;P

  • Sweet tone! thank you :) very beautiful.

  • Sounds great!

  • WoW!!!!!!!!

  • For better sustain use a compressor/sustainer like the Boss CS-2 Gilmour uses (not the CS-3 which sounds like crap)... it removes a bit of the "quack" and attack of the Strat but really helps.... Did the Callaham block improved your Strat ? I'm still wondering to install one on mine.

  • @F3FisGoodforYou Well, I bought this Strat used and it was already installed, and this is really the only guitar I've spent a good deal of time on. I've heard nothing but good things about Callaham though.

  • ok. merry me please! :P. nice perfomance :)

  • really cool!! great job!!, wich pedals r u using though ?? cause i have been looking for those or that pedal. .

  • Thank you SOOO much for caring about Melody. You do great, and the sustain is fine....

  • Very nice performance*****Great phrasing & tone :-)

  • Super nice cover!

If you are really looking for more sustain, a better tremolo block will help tons.

Callahan or DeTemple custom blocks are supposed to be good improvements on an American Standard Strat for sustain and tone control.

  • @GilmourTrueHD Adding the two springs will eventually break the tremolo bar off at the first thread of the stock issue block if you use it for big dives a lot. So keep that in mind if you add springs.

  • @GilmourTrueHD

Why should she add two extra springs? Gilmour's Strat has 3 springs and they're enough

  • @bobklose Someone else (not GHD) suggested I add springs to increase sustain...

  • @GilmourTrueHD Thanks :) This guitar has a Callaham assembly in it, but I've had some neck problems with the guitar...I had someone do a truss rod adjustment and general setup that unfortunately didn't seem to help much with the sustain problem.

  • @mitchellcmb I wonder if running through the comp with guitar rig has something to do with it, have you tried the guitar through a good tube amp turned up a bit to see if the sustain is there? Interaction between the amp, speakers and guitar is so different than through the comp. I notice that David's fingers are always putting in vibrato even on huge bends, they are always moving.

  • @GilmourTrueHD All that said, look at your neck relief to see if the truss rod adjustment was incorrect or shifted. The neck will continue to move for 24 hours after the adjustment and maybe you lost the neck relief?

Check out this Luthier, he's great and shows how to check and correctly adjust the truss rod. Easy to check.

  • @GilmourTrueHD Good point. I really need a good tube amp.

  • This is absolutely amazing !

    :) Well done

  • wow That is what life is all about - absolutely beautiful!

  • Very good playing and tone!

  • Yet another superb video. I'm always ridiculously jealous of the tone you can get out of your equipment! :D

  • great job!

  • Whaou..So great!

  • @fapstyle06 Thank you! :)

  • Brilliant as always

  • Very nice...I liked it for sure. Keep it up!

  • If you haven't already add the two extra springs on the tremolo in the back of the guitar. More mass gives more sustain. However, excellent job!

  • @J03L01289 Thanks, and I appreciate the tip!

  • Excellent!! I'm jealous...great job :)

  • Fantastic!

  • I am really critical of Pink Floyd covers. You did Gilmour PROUD!

  • @Jakewobegon Thank you. ;)

  • Well played! :) If I close my eyes, I imagine Gilmour playing this solo!

  • POLES.....

  • About compression and sustain...buy a Boss CS3 pedal

  • Very nice:) on what scale is the solo based?

  • @bobklose it is in Bm!

  • @Usgmusteret

    Bm pentatonic, I suppose

  • nice, buy a compressor if you want a bit more sustain

  • very nice, awesome tone! :)
