Hi thanks for watching! I think I know why, they've updated the links, there used to be 2 one to the paid and one to the free. The free will have some of the paid features but for a limited time then those features will go away but they're features that you can use other softwares for if you need the free only. I don't get it at all when the little box pops up once in a while, I just click no it never takes me online. What, specifically are you doing when that's happening?

Lol... You'll only need debut and/or manycam to serve as the webcam's view for the pc to record from. Not sure of any other software...

The cam works fine with nero,wmm,ulead,cyberlink power director(given to me,causes massive probs,viruses...yeah,1 of them!).

BTW,anyone got any suggestions for good FREE or cheapish editing tool?

You can try Videospin, picasa3, videopad, avidemux... they're all freeware.

trakAxPC is 24.99 and it's a music mixer so you can get free loops online and mix your music add it to your video and it uploads to youtube, directly with HD quality. I'm checking that out right now.

hey great video, but will this work with a sony dcr-sx41? i installed everything but when i go into manycam and click camera, nothing happens. it just highlights it but thats it. there are no options underneath the screen or anything. thanks.

Do you see your camera's image in the manycam window, when you click on your cam? Now Manycam only acts as the cam itself but it doesn't record for you.:( That's why you'll need Superwebcam or Debut (both are free) to record. You'll select your cam in manycam, then install debut/superwebcam and select manycam in debut/superwebcam as your camera and then you can record. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any ?s.

Hey lets do some troubleshooting, did you remove the cassette tape/sd card and the batteries? You'll need to the following according to Sony:

# Plug the AC power adapter for the camcorder into a working electrical outlet and then connect it to the camcorder.

# Connect a composite video cable or S-Video cable to the VIDEO or S-VIDEO jack on the camcorder.

NOTES: * Sony camcorders usually come packaged with composite Audio/Video cables; S-Video cables are sold separately. * To purchase either of these cables, check with your local electronics dealer or visit the Sony® Parts and Accessories Sales Web site or by call (800) 488-7669.

# Connect the other end of the composite video cable or S-Video cable to the VIDEO IN or S-VIDEO IN jack on the computer.

# Turn on the camera by moving the POWER switch to the CAMERA position.

# Remove the cassette tape from the camcorder.

# Turn on the computer.

# Start the webcam application to be used.

Hi! I researched and found that it has AV input

1 install camera's software then connect your camera with the AV inputs and turn it on

2 then install and open up debut 1.47

3 click the 6th button from the top left "OPTIONS"

4 click the radio button under "Video Capture Device"

54 move the window over so you can see your screen

6click Device Inputs on the bottom right

7Under input select each until your screen shows your camera's view!

Mine came with the AV cable.

Thanks for watching! I'm so sorry, I spent hours with a friend who had that cam and it did not work. :( She eventually sold it for another one. You would think it would once you have the driver installed but it did not work for her. Maybe someone will come up with someway to do it one day. :D

Also, Debut was updated so it's a lil' different now as far as selecting the cam. Keep playing around with it. :D

Thanks so much for watching! Yes, once it's added on; the cam that is, you'll be able to use it with most any software that requires a camera! You'll just need to go into the settings and choose it as the camera. Depending on the software, you might not need to use both of these softwares or any. This is just for those with camcorders that don't let you use softwares to manipulate them. Debut has been updated and now it recognises the mic on my cam so I don't need a separate mic. :D
