Just saw him perform Prokofiev - Piano Concerto No. 3 earlier this night. He also premiered a Macedonian piece for a Violin/Cello/Piano trio. Absolutely, completely, stunning. Got a couple of CDs signed by him - very happy :) He's lovely in person too
Simon made his first performance in Brazil yesterday with the National Theater Orchestra conducted by Ira Levin, and it was simply wonderful! Great artist!
We heard an amazing Rach 4 with colours, depth, in a very charismatic performer.
Just saw him play the Grieg last night with the London Symphony Orchestra in Daytona Beach, FL. Awesome. He added a contemporary touch to his interpretation of the concerto. Bravo.
i don't think that the sounds in the climax were blurred, because tou can hear the orchestra at the same time and it may blur a clear echo, and performing of a climax has to do with your inner expression, so it depends on your mood and has nothing to do with your ability to perform if you are a genius like Simon
He had portions where his playing was just amazingly beautiful and magical in a way, but then he killed it for me with the climax at 5:25. His octaves seemed too fast to me to actually be able to hear what's happening. It makes the piano part sorta blur together to much. And I wish he would take more time getting out of that.
ahhhhhh he's awesome he's so talented!
