  • BLOW WHITNEY BLOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    RIP

  • @Funkredible Go back and listen to Patti LaBelle when she was fronting LaBelle. Your asking if Patti can handle speed, agility and precision???? Are you kidding???? And when is someone going to post my favorite song from this album, "Our Love is in Danger"????

  • All of the Chaka supporters have made valid arguments that I'm not going to dispute while I'm listening to this song (too busy enjoying...). I wasn't denying Chaka's talents as a "musician". I'm sure in her time, Patti LaBelle did a lot of arrangements and writing as the lead singer of TWO singing groups, The Bluebells and LaBelle. I still maintain while I PREFER CHAKA, when it come to singing wait (love this part...CLOUDS!!!!!), she's not better than Patti....

  • @Funkredible A.....G....R...E...E...D!!!!

  • Look up LARRY LEVAN!!!

  • @Funkredible Just listen to 'Never Walk Alone' and ask yourself, "Could Chaka handle this?"

  • @Funkredible Have you ever listened to the group LaBelle? Patti "can't sing jazz"????

I understand if some of you simple prefer Chaka....hell, so do I! But that doesn't mean Chaka has more 'musicality', whatever that's supposed to mean. Look at my other response and go back and listen to some of Patti's early works and tell me again what Patti "can't do......"

  • @Funkredible sorry dude, I absolutely love and respect Chaka, but NO ONE has a more gifted voice than Patti LaBelle. Chaka is close, but in terms of power, range, versatility there is no equal to Patti. Now, as I sit here and listen to this temptress, if you asked me if I could go back in the way-back machine and I could spend the afternoon listening to either Patti or Chaka? Chaka Khan!!!! That doesn't mean Patti isn't more gifted...

  • WOW!!! Patti has one of the most annoying, nasal, non-versitile voices ever. What song did you hear her sing with more power and range than CHAKA? U really need to go back into the annals of both of their recordings and re-examine. Clearly your not musical!

  • @mytube201174 Sounds more like you just don't like Patti LaBelle or her unique stylings. It's okay. There is no need to argue. Both Patti and Chaka are miles above anything currently available. But if you don't think Patti has more power than Chaka, maybe you should listen to 'Over the Rainbow', 'Nightbird' when Patti was fronting her own group, LaBelle, 'You'll Never Walk Alone' and her version of 'If You Don't Know Me By Now'.

  • gotta make this one mobile also, im truck driver these jams get me down the road!

  • steve farron is killing it!

  • I still get chills when I hear this

  • Unmatched talent. Unmatched beauty. Unmatched class. She is second ONLY to the legendary Patti LaBelle who can't be topped. Can someone please upload 'Our Love is in Danger' off this outstanding album. It is my favorite but I can't find it anywhere....

  • Chaka was the bomb back then. Her voice was unmatched during that time.

  • natural talent!!!

  • Can you say CHILL FOR DAYS ???!!!! OMG !!

  • love this song

  • Listen to the Great Voice. Chaka is Fire. She is Elegant, Classy, Sophisticated, Beautiful and Talented. I love this song. We used to dance our behinds off to this song.

  • Yeah. That voice... there will NEVER be another Chaka Khan. She sang this at Club Zanzibar. Back when I needed a fake I.D. L.O.L!

  • Jesus I LOVE THIS WOMAN! She is a siren! She puts all these wanna-be divas to SHAME! Will someone PLEASE post 'Your Love Is In Danger.' from this fantastic album!!!!!

  • WHAT A VOICE! NO WOMAN, I MEAN NO WOMAN CAN TOUCH THIS ONE, OMG, WHAT A VOICE!

  • We will never revisit this kind of music ever again....so sad. It makes me wanna cry.

  • How do you NOT dance to this?.......

  • OH YEAH!!! This photo is EXACTLY what you saw when you went to Rufus' concert. Thank you Chaka Khan for making a young boy's dream come true!!! Great photo. Great post.

  • Itunes doesn't have this..what a shame.

  • @CinnCity78 I KNOW HUH!

  • @CinnCity78 they have it a great Larry Levan mix

  • cant believe whitney is backing

  • 1:35-1:40 loooveeeee that part and I don't know why. The way she drops her voice is just so unexpected.

  • She got me on that un huh!!! No one can out intepret this musical genius!!!

  • Ms. Chaka Khan was absolutely in her element singing this great song!!

The music laid out for her was absolutely fantastic.

    Just Love Her Voice!!!

    Many Thanks for this Post!!

  • 1980's I remember walking into Pegasus in the NYC and hearing Two Clouds playing back to back for 1 hour straight. Boy how we danced. Whoever was the DJ put that mix on this tube.

  • OMG! give me some room on that dance floor. When this track played we were all over the place. Wonderfully joyful and uplifting track that just made you want to fly all over the dancefloor.Great times. Awesome music. Thank you Nick (R.I.P.), Valery, Chaka.for sharing your wonderful talents with us to enjoy!

  • Stay safe Northeast I hope Irene is nothing more than a rain storm. Here is some cloudy day music composed by the late Nick Ashford and Valerie Simpson. Enjoy.

  • San Fran, Mar 83' Old Waldorf, I had the extreme pleasure of attending one of the best concerts ever!! Chaka tore the house down n' brought it back up. I met her after the show on a bet from my date. Backstage, she was gracious and funny. We exchanged earrings. She wrote my mom a thx note, then invited me and my date out! His mouth remained open with a smile the entire night!! Vesta Williams and Dawn ? were there. Chaka is a legend, her interpretation is unmatched. Lucky as hell...a yea.

  • I JUST WANT TO SAY R.I.P. NICK ASHFORD. YOU LEFT US A LEGACY OF GREAT MUSIC THAT WILL NEVER DUPLICATED. YOU WERE TRULY A GIFTED ARTIST. YOUR MUSIC WAS A TRUE PART OF MY HOME GROWING UP IN DC IN THE 70'S & 80'S. YOU WILL BE MISSED!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Classic.... thanks for posting, all I could find was the corny remixes!!!!! Love Chaka and R.I.P. Nick Ashford.....

  • thank u nick ashford for this masterpiece of a song. r.i.p.

  • RIP Nick Ashford.

  • I never heard this song before. It's vintage Chaka

  • All hail CHAKA the GREAT !!!

  • This song makes me think of humanity when they leave and no longer beleive in the Almighty!

  • Chaka at her peak with the killing rhythm section of Anthony Jackson (bass) and Steve Ferrone (drums).

  • The vocal arrangements and music send chills up my spine and down my arm literally!

  • over the last 35 years, Chaka's songs have made dance...sing...cry...think, this one makes me DANCE!!! thx Chaka..you sweet thing you

  • After all these years, Chaka is the one who, despite her road in life having some bumps, still hits ALL the notes. I saw her live 3 years ago, and she was flawless. Backup band was bad, too!!! Been a fan since I was a teen in the mid 70's...

  • WOW... this is what ya call MUSIC... what a classic... what an artist..

talent for sure... when this trax hit the speakers in the NYC... OMFG...

GRID LOCK ON THE DANCE FLOOR....nothing but wondeful times

during the 70's 80's ..happy i witness such a SPECIAL ERA.. we will

never witness such GR8NESS EVER AGAIN! @JazzFunkster444

U ROCK BIG TIME! ((KEEP THE VIBE ALIVE)) 1 LOVE..Port!!

  • Arif Mardin & Chaka were MAGIC! I love her "whatcha gonna do for me" album!

  • THANK YOU!!! LOVE YOU FOR POSTING THIS

  • gorge my fave

  • I love watching Chaka's live performances, especially when she hits these high notes and not even move or breathe right before she does, like it's no big deal.

    <3 you Chaka

  • Massive cut. My parents loved Chaka. I was in elementary school doing sweet thing. And life was sweet. Hello Yvette M....I am sure you are still sweet.

  • definitive cut.

  • My favorite Chaka Khan song of all time is this one.

  • OMG! Bring me back to a time when those songs were played in the disco... sooo awesome!!!

  • 1980!!!!!

  • now when i listen to old whitney songs i can hear the chaka influence in her voice. if you really listen to her you would be able to hear it too

  • @mjjcng895 Sure can

  • The thing I love the most about Chaka Khan is that she is not afraid to sing any song her way. Whether it's an oldie or one that was written for her it will definitely have her stamp and style put on it. I love her unique style and have been a fan of hers for years. I've never heard this one before but am definitely enjoying it. Thanks for posting this!

  • @jewel1260 sho' nuff

  • Hey everyone...Whitney Houston is in the background on this song...She was only 17 yrs old. (Little Trivia For Ya!!!)

  • I remeber way back in the day seeing Rufus featuring Chaka Kahn when they show -cased at Mavericks Flat on Crenshaw Blvd. She was awesome then and shes even more compelling today. "Clouds" is definitely one of my all time favortes by Chaka. This song pumps...the guitars riffs, the background vocals, Chaka belting out every note with deliberate conviction as she always does makes this Ashford & Simpson song one of her very best.....WOW!!

  • Chaka Khan is simply put, a legend. My absolute favorite female vocalist. She's fierce, fearless and when this came out when I was about 11, I began to understand the difference between a singer and a vocalist. She's #1 on my list. Whitney tackle this jam right here? Maybe, back in the day. I don't think she was funky enough. Mary J.? No way.

  • There will never ever be another Chaka Khan, period. She is definitely a musical icon

  • Ciara, Kheri Hilson and all the rest of the jiggle their tits with a two note vocal range should be ashamed to ever go near a microphone if they listened to the B-sides of this vocal goddesses work.

  • Sick sick sick - Just plain sick. They don't make music like this anymore!!!

  • hard to beat chaka on vocals, tremendous

  • Chaka, has always been more than just "another" singer. Even when she was with Rufus, her vocals were an outstanding presence, in the company of any band.

She, is still one of the most dynamic vocal performers of her generation, and this one as well!

  • You hear that voice? That's real singing.

  • I would have loved to have heard Whitney Houston's take on this song, when she was on top of her game... She's the only female singer that I think could have done a remake version of this song any real justice.

  • @AstralBooBaby ...I love Whitley and she did an OK job with I'm every woman, but I dont think she could handle this one. Chaka Khan has that "Funk" element fom her days with Rufus that Whitney cant touch...Whitney is great but she aint funky. Image her singin "Tell me something good", "You got the love" or "Fools Paradise"...Whit cant d it !

  • @drweebo funny you should say that. do you realize that whitney houston IS singing on this song? shes doing background vocals with her mother. :)

  • Old Skool house music at its best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!DJ's used to beat this at The BOX in Chicago,22nd and Michigan.Chaka is great!!!!!!!!!

  • oooh chaka!!you give me chills?

  • OMG!!! Her voice can't be duplicated, effortless, powerful! You can't confuse her voice with anyone else! NOW THAT'S TALENT!

  • @angelicawilk BELIEVE THAT

  • OMG!!! Her voice can't be duplicated, effortless, powerful! You can't confuse her voice with anyone else! NOW THAT'S TALENT!

  • That VOICE!!! That VOICE!!! That VOICE!!! There will never be another!!! & She Can SANG too!!!

  • This woman is incredible, I mean hit after hit, truly one of a kind, a definite R&B legend, A devine queen diva.

    Luvs me some chaka khan!

  • SUPER CLASSIC!!!!!

  • You gotta check out the 1982 Live version, the third song in performance with Couds/Love Has Fallen On Me

  • this song reminds of the PARADISE GARAGE...!!!

  • THE NIGHT WE MET, I FELL MADLY IN LOVE WITH HER AND WOULDN'T LEAVE HER SIDE. IT RAINED, THUNDERED AND ALL NIGHT... WHEN I WENT TO ATLANTIC STUDIOS WITH HER THE NEXT MORNING ARIF HAD RECORDED THE STORM AND PUT IT ON THE INTRO OF THIS SONG. GOT TO SEE SOME OF MY BUDDIES ,HIRAM BULLOCK, ANTHONY JACKSON, STEVE FERRONE MAKE THIS RECORD...TREASURED MEMORIES!!!!!!!!!

  • I've been playing this song all day.

  • And again today....

  • best song ever!

  • absolute discohead favorite gotta here this loud in the clubs. Only in the Chi baby!!!!

  • This is my favorite Chaka Kahn dance tune and she had many. Not a big radio hit but it was big in the underground. This shit would have all the dancers flying all over the place. We needed room for this cause it was gonna rain!

  • Larry Levan used to pump this classic Chaka cut at the Mighty Paradise Garage. And when the crescendo part of the song came and Chaka sang its "Gonna Rain" and the chorus came---- in faux rain or confetti used to come pouring down on the crowd and a kind of interactive party was in full effect. It was truly awesome!

    Keep Bangin!

  • On the background vocals were a young Whitney Houston,Micheal Jackson and Luther Vandross along with Cissy Houston

  • @daboe0909 damn, are you for real? thanks for the info. Chaka had mad influence. you must be in the bizness to know that.

  • @daboe0909 I don't think Mike sang background on this one.

  • If I only was underneath Chaka in this pic.............lol

  • damn this is sharkbite

  • I so remember this back spring/summer 1980!

  • I love this song back in NYC. All us old Garage people salude you.

  • Back when I briefly worked in the record business, I had the opportunity to shake hands with Arif Mardin and compliment him on his string arrangements on this very same record. So thankful I got to do that before he passed on. Few people realize what a gifted arranger he was, in addition to being a hitmaking producer. And this is one of my all-time favorite "Chaka choons."

Oh ... and let us not forget the talents of Nick Ashford & Valerie Simpson, who wrote this song.

  • @CreoleCW Dig this hear .Thanks for the behind the seen info but ah Who Blew This Bitch Park ! CHAKA KHAN!!!!

  • @CreoleCW u can tell Ashford and Simpson wrote this!

  • @CreoleCW.Thank you so much for posting this version.Back in the early 90"s when house music was legendary,we used to dance our butts off to this in the clubs in NYC....Still sounds great after all these years.

  • @CreoleCW QUALITY.

  • @CreoleCW they are also singing on the background vocals too

  • @CreoleCW schooled me then...never noticed before who wrote the song. Thanks for that bit of history and education. My fave Chaka song and got to see her do it live twice and Club Zanzibar in Newark.......

  • @CreoleCW Thanks for sharing Creole. You are so right about the arrangement on this record. The first time I ever heard it , I was driving in my car. I rolled down the windows and just blasted it. I loved it. I knew Chaka from Rufus, but this record opened my mind to her and I've been a fan ever since. Her voice is like a musical instrument.

  • @owsh123 How about this....I have this recording in my car right now...lol I have been dancing to this for YEARSSSSS....Let me tell you...on a long drive say to Atlanta from NC..this song is HOTTT on 85 South....

  • Proud to have been a part of this ARIF MARDIN produced tune for Chaka! Thanks for posting and remembering this was a fun session!

  • This is my FAVORITE Chaka song! Period...followed closely by Whatcha Gonna Do For Me?

  • Thank you for positing the original. Loved this song when I was a kid!!!

  • @Mandi7882 I still love it, great music never dies. This is pure real music, not like the popular garbage today. Lady GaGa being an example, just my opinion.

  • This is on the Larry Levan CD good song.

  • I remember hearing this song around 1980-81(?) but I was only 8 or 9 years old. I never knew who sang the song but somehow I remember it even though I've not heard again til today.

  • @brownhornet22 it was 1980

  • thanx for uploading , super video!

  • taking a risk lol...if anyone really wants to hear Whit they should listen to Our love's in danger..her voice sticks out more on that track.
