im literally about to start collecting/painting/playing warhammer and im undecided about which army to choose....Ogre Kingdoms look cool but i hear the skaven are the better army. Any opinions???? would be very welcome!!
@viktorhat Ha yes I would because I have a small Orcs and Goblin army and a small Chaos army. Basically a strength Orcs and Goblins can have are numbers in Goblins. Plus they can have rock lobbas for war machines. And they can do hit and run tactics in their Goblin Wolf Riders. Magic isn't bad either. A chaos army is basically all elites other than marauders. Their magic is really good. Their knights can pop chariots in a heart beat. I'm better as Orcs and Goblins though by far. Also fanatics
@viktorhat Well, do you have a preferred playing style? For me, I just like a whole lot of variety and a relatively large army. I am starting up a High Elf army in a few weeks and my step brother is going to start up a skaven army. AKA Island of Blood boxset. Each army has a major strength usually.

@LeagueBroz well, dwarfs are shooty, but have no magic ability whatsoever. on the other hand, high elvfs require a litle work, but once you get the hang of it, your fine.
@LeagueBroz well, dark elves are fast, good at magic, close combat, and shooting, but are lightly armourd, costly(points wise and money wise), low S and T. they have lots of metal charecters, and are as hard as to play as the high elves.if not, harder. in gereral, if you want a shooty army, thell have bad magic. magic army, but bad shooty. try brettoniens. they are balenced(a little more magic though)

@viktorhat empire pros CANNONS vampire pros magic,can bring back there dead, can summon more troops,AND look cooler jk... if you cant tell im a VC player. but you really should try the empire i think that under 8th edition they are much much much better. hopes this helps
@viktorhat if you play low point games(i.e. 1500pts) then choose the empire cause VC needs a lot of heroes and some horde-units...On the other hand if you want a big army then go for VC!

@antinomos2009 I don't know much about any of the races xD. But i do know, that the warriors of chaos is good in melee. I would pick them. (They look coll too).
@superstrok99 Probably those were the undeads who dwell in that settlement led by a vampire on lustria coast. They were probably trying to attack a templecity but the local lizardmen were ready to protect their land.

@viktorhat The Empire have great artillery, and a few other units with missle weapons. Their Magic is mediocre, and they are not known for their abilities in hand to hand combat. The VC are great at magic, have some good hand to hand units, but lack missle weapons. THey can make new troops (albeit of poor quality) and are immune to psychology.
All other considerations being equal, if you have never played before, I'd go with Empire. They get to participate in all aspects of the game.
@viktorhat I think that the 8th edition rules have done some nice things for the Empire. I usually suggest that you go with whatever army you like the looks of.

I was under the impression that in the old rules the Sacred Spawnings caused a unit of Saurus to go from core to special choice, and that the jungle swarms did not count towards the core troops count, so apart from your skinks, which is your other core units?
I HAD a Vampire Counts Skeleton Warriors Regiment. I went in the store and was comtemplating on whether i should purchase the Lizardman or the Vampire Counts. :D

y is it every video i see with vampire they all use zombie's they suck and the blood knight units are way to small and week my blood knight unit costs 1235 points in a 2000 point list and iv not lost a game yet so i think ill tell people wats in it . i have 8 blood knights with full comand the flag of blood keep a vampire lord with red fury blood drinker inifit hatred and dreaded knight then i have a vampire battel flag with the banner of drakenhof inifit hatred and dreaded knight happy hunting
Tau's main weeknes is their inability to fight in close combat with a very low weapon skill and toughnes. Fire Warriors should stay out of combat as long as possible. The close combat specialists of Tau are the Kroot.
Space marines or Chaos Spacemarines are deffinatly the best choice for someone new to 40k due to the flexibility, as Mch158 said.
Necrons, however, I would not recommend because they are really a very specialised force. sacrificing their numbers for firepower.

Dev Bravo! great game you two had, supprized your saurus were able to hold out, luck of the draw I say, but lizardmen seem like tough mothers, I'm normally a 40k man my self but I've always wanted to branch out but I get scared off by the Magic, and varriety of rules and applications/ modifications and I play IG and Tyranids so.. YA! but your other armie over veiws on Daemons and now starting Lizardmen has swayed me. The Karma Chameleon song was a nice touch too!

40k is more popular. 40k gets more updates, gets more models more often, codexs constantly updating, more of the general fandom of GW is 40k users. I have a fantasy army of Goblins and Orcs but the amount of times I get asked to battle with than my Imperial Guard or Orks is just not comparable.
Whenever i'm in an actual GW store I see most of the battle boards as 40k with normally 1 board of fantasy and/or LoTR (which I also use to collect - stopped now)
Both of the races are rly good. High elves have great archers awesome magic Dragons and powerful heroes. I Don't know that much about tomb kings but most of their troops cause fear and they're alot cheaper than high elves (in points not money), wich allows them to field more troops in unit to help win combat resolution with outnumber and ranks and such. They also got some cool models bonegiants scorpions and stuff. I'd personally reccomend Tomb kings
Tomb kings are based on alot of troops that causes fear (that you can use to scare lesser units), alot of ranged and also good ranged cavelery( for flanking and such) they are also the only army that has charriots as a core unit. High elves are good at having superior troops and are not scared of combat. They nearly always hit first and has great weapon skill(units like humans and undead have a hard time hitting theme in melee combat) and high else also have alot of flying units.
I am very new to Warhammer, and I have decided to go with Warriors of Chaos. If you could give me any tips it would be much appreciated. All I have right now is 10 Knights of Chaos, so any tips at all will help, thank you!^^
I bought some WoC some time ago, first thing is get the army book if you dont have it then get some marauders and warriors of chaos, at least one of each to start off. One or two characters and you should have decent skirmishing force then build off with what you want for your amy, i went with trolls and the troll king, chosen and 2 units of cavalry marauders.
not knowing much about lizardmen, i'm still gonna say sumthing as a vampire count player
i would have hit his spirt host with the magic to free up the big scary lizard monsters! also, zombies are as low as skaven slaves and i wouldn't waste my shots on them(unless they are actualy a threat....if that makes any sence...)

Yes the Wood Elves have been completly revolutiionized with new lore (based on the old, of course), magnificent minaturs and a sensational new army book. They're great. =)
They are fabulous. Some things got nerfed in the new book, but some got improved. They are my favorite army by far. If you're thinking of collecting and playing them, remember they work best up close.
Depends... they mostly fight everybody who passes their lands, but not because they're evil, they are xenophobic. :-D I guess they are good, in their special way.
I think it is a little of both. When he hit me in the flanks with zombies, it gave some of my saurus the ability to attack. Each saurus has 2 attacks. It gave me a ton of extra CR.
If the vampire counts player lost vs the old lizardman immagine with a stegadon with a temple of gods ... hahaha besides - Spirit host of 1 bases .... not a good idea - at least 2 or 3 ... besides blood knights are completly waste of points ... you have black knight with ethereal movement or Wraiths ...
Good battle. Awesome army match up, two armies I've wanted to see face off in battle for some time, against each other was just a bonus.

id say tau, space marines or necrons.
tau because their fire warriors are amazing in close combat.
spce marines because they have a large variety and can change tactics depending on the opponent.
necrons because they all have great armour saves and diffusion fiels on normal warriors can blow up tanks

Yes you can. It is often the only way to defeat them with normal troops.

Dev Bravo! great game you two had, supprized your saurus were able to hold out, luck of the draw I say, but lizardmen seem like tough mothers, I'm normally a 40k man my self but I've always wanted to branch out but I get scared off by the Magic, and varriety of rules and applications/ modifications and I play IG and Tyranids so.. YA! but your other armie over veiws on Daemons and now starting Lizardmen has swayed me. The Karma Chameleon song was a nice touch too!

40k is more popular. 40k gets more updates, gets more models more often, codexs constantly updating, more of the general fandom of GW is 40k users. I have a fantasy army of Goblins and Orcs but the amount of times I get asked to battle with than my Imperial Guard or Orks is just not comparable.
Whenever i'm in an actual GW store I see most of the battle boards as 40k with normally 1 board of fantasy and/or LoTR (which I also use to collect - stopped now)
I find 40k story and lore more fun :P

i really want to start a fantasy army , but i cant decide between high elves or tomb kings . can someone plz tell me the pros and cons of each army .

Both of the races are rly good. High elves have great archers awesome magic Dragons and powerful heroes. I Don't know that much about tomb kings but most of their troops cause fear and they're alot cheaper than high elves (in points not money), wich allows them to field more troops in unit to help win combat resolution with outnumber and ranks and such. They also got some cool models bonegiants scorpions and stuff. I'd personally reccomend Tomb kings

i dont know alot, but i think tomb ings are really hard to kill, and high elves can have dragons

Tomb kings are based on alot of troops that causes fear (that you can use to scare lesser units), alot of ranged and also good ranged cavelery( for flanking and such) they are also the only army that has charriots as a core unit. High elves are good at having superior troops and are not scared of combat. They nearly always hit first and has great weapon skill(units like humans and undead have a hard time hitting theme in melee combat) and high else also have alot of flying units.

I am very new to Warhammer, and I have decided to go with Warriors of Chaos. If you could give me any tips it would be much appreciated. All I have right now is 10 Knights of Chaos, so any tips at all will help, thank you!^^

I bought some WoC some time ago, first thing is get the army book if you dont have it then get some marauders and warriors of chaos, at least one of each to start off. One or two characters and you should have decent skirmishing force then build off with what you want for your amy, i went with trolls and the troll king, chosen and 2 units of cavalry marauders.

not knowing much about lizardmen, i'm still gonna say sumthing as a vampire count player
i would have hit his spirt host with the magic to free up the big scary lizard monsters! also, zombies are as low as skaven slaves and i wouldn't waste my shots on them(unless they are actualy a threat....if that makes any sence...)

Yes the Wood Elves have been completly revolutiionized with new lore (based on the old, of course), magnificent minaturs and a sensational new army book. They're great. =)

They are fabulous. Some things got nerfed in the new book, but some got improved. They are my favorite army by far. If you're thinking of collecting and playing them, remember they work best up close.

Depends... they mostly fight everybody who passes their lands, but not because they're evil, they are xenophobic. :-D I guess they are good, in their special way.

I think it is a little of both. When he hit me in the flanks with zombies, it gave some of my saurus the ability to attack. Each saurus has 2 attacks. It gave me a ton of extra CR.

If the vampire counts player lost vs the old lizardman immagine with a stegadon with a temple of gods ... hahaha besides - Spirit host of 1 bases .... not a good idea - at least 2 or 3 ... besides blood knights are completly waste of points ... you have black knight with ethereal movement or Wraiths ...

Zombies vs Saurus is obvious fail. kind of a bad match up for the vc guy, however i feel he coulda put his blood knights to better use.
