  • This is the 800 lb. gorilla in the middle of the room that no one talks about because of the priest shortage.

  • Bring back Eucharistic Adoration in the seminaries and parishes, period.

  • This report is typical because the homosexual lobby have convinced society that homosexuals are born that way, therefore, God given and God's word has to adapt to that truth. Therefore, clerical abuse can't be related to homosexuality and to say so is a crime. Reality is clerical abuse is due to homosexual pedophiles and to not to say that shows this report is written by enemies of the Church. I had a friend once who in the early 70's was rejected from the priesthood because he was gay. Now?

  • Studies show that in homosexual relationships there are more domestic abuse. Drug abuse is higher. All this compared to heterosexual relationships. It is a disorder. Lets also look @ depression & suicide is higher as well.

  • I used to be in a Roman Catholic seminary. I can tell you with certainty that at least 20-30% of my brother seminarians were homosexual or bisexual.

fyi, this is still true after the seminary was reformed, its code of conduct and moral standards made more strict.

I had contact with dozens of priests in the Archdiocese and I noticed a high number of gay priests, disproportionately higher than the general population.

Maybe my seminary experience was unique but I have a feeling that it isn't.

  • @MrCFO21

A few years ago, a couple of priests, who lived at the Theological College in Washington DC in the late 90s told me that at that time easily around 70-80% of the seminary and staff were homosexual in orientation there. I spoke to one of these priests not too long ago and he said the figure is "much lower now, probably much less than half." There are still many religious houses and seminaries that are predominantly homosexual. In Europe the problem is far worse.

  • Many attempt to put this down to the stigma involved with being homosexual but the evidence does not support this idea. The authors of a study done in The Netherlands were surprised to find so much mental illness in homosexual people in a country where tolerance of homosexuality is greater than in almost all other countries.

  • It is true that the church does not teach that homosexuality is a mental disorder, but a spiritual one. However, recent studies show homosexuals have a substantially greater risk of suffering from psychiatric problems than do heterosexuals. We see higher rates of suicide, depression, bulimia, antisocial personality disorder, and substance abuse.

  • WHITEWASH is RealCatholic at its very BEST .... !!!!!!! The USCCB refuses to speak out against aggressively concerning the Homosexual Agenda in the USA. QUESTION: How many Catholic Universities teach Homosexuality as perfectly ... NORMAL ... ???? I'll bet less than 5% of Catholic Universities teach Homosexuality as a MENTAL DIS-ORDER even though this is the official position of the Catholic Church ... .

  • @jkozuh The Church's position is that same-sex attraction is disordered (not necessarily a mental disorder) and that homosexual acts are a sin.

  • OK, ok, ok ... . Homosexuality is a ... DIS-ORDER ... , but it must be a MENTAL Dis-Order because sexual orientation involves ... BRAIN CHEMISTRY .... . Can anyone explain to me how Homosexuality could ever be a ... PURELY Physical Dis-Order ... ????

  • @jkozuh SPIRITUAL disorder, primarily. The Church deals in spiritual things, mostly, and so when she speaks of matters she is usually speaking of them from a spiritual perspective. Regardless; the Church's teaching is NOT what you said it is - read the Catechism. She says homosexuality is objectively disordered, and that its cause is not known.

  • It seems to me that this was not a paedophilia scandal, but of pederasty.

  • @blitzel3

The reply was correct. It is not necessarily homosexual orientation disorder per se. The sexual/reproductive drive is about a strong a drive as there is, with some researchers believing it is even stronger than the self-preservation drive for some. When that is damaged and perverted, i.e. a man desires physical or romantic relationships with children, boys, other men, etc, they cannot be ordained.

  • Yale and Harvard-connected psychiatrist Jeffrey Satinover states that "careful studies show that pedophilia is far more common among homosexuals than heterosexuals " Satinover adds, "The greater absolute number of heterosexual cases reflects the fact that heterosexual males outnumber homosexual males by approximately 36 to 1. Heterosexual child molestation cases outnumber homosexual cases by only 11 to 1, implying that pedophilia is more than three times more common among homosexuals."

  • I am so glad Real Catholic Tv has decided to address this subject. It seems that those leading the church would prefer not to get their hands dirty and remain in the comfort of political correctness but these problems will never be overcome unless they are fully understood and acknowledged.

  • Michael, I think it's a combination of a whitewash and project of political correctness. I heard on a radio program today about this that academics who are tenured professors can lose their positions or their tenure if they speak in any negative way about homosexuality. It would seem that the whitewash effort has conspired together with political correctness in academia to produce this report. If flies in the face of common sense. Thanks.

  • @Hirduin Good thing RCTV does not have to worry about tenure or about keeping their jobs, but now it is evident that any croup dependent on government money ( eg Catholic adoption agencies) has to either shut down if they disagree with the PC policies, or figure out other ways to fund themselves and also somehow not get sued by the PC crowd. Thank God for RCTV and may they continue to speak the truth.

  • Micheal, you are so bold, but what you say needs to be heard. Hopefully your vortex helps Catholics realize that the Church needs to stay faithful to the precepts of the FAITH. I agree with you that a homosexual will not be called to the priesthood but rather called to celebacy and chastity! Watch you back, the bishops that have started this mess are snakes and are behind all the blah blah blah that is "American" Catholicism

  • To learn more about the pedophile scandal and how it happened, I have ordered Goodbye, Good Men & have received AmChurch comes out. Good reviews for Goodbye on Amazon, and only one review (negative) on AmChurch, which is written by a member of the Wanderer. Any thoughts on AmChurch? Did anyone like it? Agree or disagree with it?

  • @blitzel3 I'll help clear it up. Just because a man thinks he is called to be a priest does not mean it is automatically from God. Satan is also convincing, especially because he knows the man's orientation & can use him to tear down the church while ordained. Women also are deceived into thinking they are called to Catholic priesthood. Is this authentic? No. Since it defies God's will for them, it must be evil and NOT God.

  • @blitzel3 Priests are not just CALLED Father - they are spiritual fathers, and so they have to have a correctly oriented sexual desire and urge - what they are needs to be oriented towards fatherhood, and homosexuals are not.

  • @RealCatholicTV This is really well said, and I have never heard it put quite as clearly as this. Thank you for bringing out points like this because it helps to encourage your viewers with solid arguments with which to defend the faith, particularly on the question of homosexuality and the priesthood.

  • Then it is a mistake that the Church does not seem to concerned with stopping. I know for a certain fact at least a half dozen seminarians from various dioceses whom the Church will ordain in the next weeks and who have no problem displaying their homosexual disposition. One even parks his car with his rainbow flag sticker in the seminary parking lot. And, yes, both his bishop and rector know.

  • @MaxTJH You'll have noticed a theme in our Vortex episodes that the bishops do not often stand up for what is right - but that does not change the fact it IS right and that people need to stand up and insist on it, even if bishops and rectors and so forth are not doing the right thing.

  • The Holy Father or a high ranking prelate said recently that "homosexuals cannot be ordained."

But there is a very great problem here. If God has given a priestly vocation to those who intrinsically harbor sexual desire for other men and boys, then the Church is saying that she will not ordain to the priesthood those God has called. If the Church believes that homosexual orientation disorder disqualifies someone, then she must explain the decision to ordain tens of thousands of homosexuals.

  • @MaxTJH God does not call those who are homosexual - they may THINK they have a vocation, but they do not. And those who were ordained are validly ordained, but it was a mistake to do so.

  • Lucifer has been attacking the Holy Church for many years. He will do everything in his power to bring down God's Bride. He shall fail...

  • A friend and former seminarian enlightened me that this was part of an evil agenda. Holy, faith-filled men were being turned away on unfounded reasons while hypocrites were being embraced. He couldn't handle the hypocrisy and unfortunately left. The book 'Goodbye! Good Men: How Catholic Seminaries Turned Away Two Generations of Vocations From the Priesthood' explains it. Good news...the tides are turning! We must continue to pray...and expose!

  • As a Catholic man who has three male relatives that have been abused by church clergy, I am not surprised that those responsible have been homosexuals. What I am discouraged by is the US Conference of Bishops and the role they are playing in the secularization of the Church, including the acceptance of the practices of homosexual men and women. However, isn't it our Pope who is now sending investigators to the US to root out the influence of homosexuals in our seminaries and convents?

  • From what I read on the net, your suspicions about infiltration are correct. There are allegations that there are indeed several homosexual bishops in the U.S. and, further, that a few of them have used their positions to try to seduce heterosexual seminarians & young priests. I also understand that at least one religious order would only accept applicants who agreed that homosexuality is a 'valid lifestyle'. (Proportionately, homosexuals are much more likely to commit sexual crimes than others)

  • Archabbot Weakland was also that chief musical liturgist in the Church, and head of the Benedictine confederation at a ripe and early age of 36.

  • How on earth did this scandal happen in the first place?

How do you root out the evil in the church without destroying it?

I truly pray that somehow someway theclergy responsible for keeping quiet or actually doing evil are brought to justice. There has got to be away

One of the way is through St. Michael's Media

Keep up the good work Michael we need more people like you thare care enough to expose this evil where ever you can.
