  • Great film, I love Lee Marvin. I watched a movie called Good For Nothing that reminded me of this full of stupid cowboys. At first when you watch the film you think it is going to be this serious thing, but it really turns into a very satirical film of the west. It is directed by Mike Wallis who did special effects on Lord of the Rings and shot in New Zealand so it is very different. youtube. com/watch?v=gRYZNCVeZDY

  • jane fonda is so fucking hot right here

  • Wow no one is mentioning Dwayne Hickman (Dobie Gillis) as the dirty preacher? Lee Marvin, Jane Fonda, Dwayne Hickman, and Nat King Cole all in one movie, a comedy western, made in 1965 at that. Now that is classic star power. I wish that modern day black musicians would follow in Nat King Cole's footsteps and sing like he does, he has a great voice. Now it's just rap and hip-hop bullshit. Seal seems to be the only one who sings similar to Nat, and he even kind of looks like him.Music is shit now

  • Yeap, they should have hanged Cat Ballou for: public sedition, insurrection, providing aid & comfort to the enemy, and treason for her actions in the Vietnam Conflict.

  • Some more funny Westerns:

    Evil Roy Slade w/John Astin

The Outlaws are Coming w/ The Three Stooges

The Over the Hill Gang w/ Walter Brennen, Andy Devine, and Chill Wills

  • Took me right back to my childhood. Thanks for posting.

  • Wonderful! Thank you.

  • This movie holds up well because it is really funny and it is set in the West.

  • The wildest gal in the West

    Since Calamity Jane!

  • love ''cat ballou'' so fucking funny and great opening tune, lee marvin fucking superb, comic cowbowy!!!

  • Love hearing and seeing the great Nat King Cole.

  • What a pity that people with a command of the English language are allowed to print their foul language on sites like YouTube. People like this are the dregs of humanity

  • @bigfoot3108 I fully agree, Bigfoot. Some people never grow up.

  • Jane was so miscast in this film....like she was in a lot of films

  • I watched this movie in the Theatre as a little kid. Love the song, love Lee Marvin and his drunken horse!

  • lol, I love this movie! "Cat Ballou" FTW!

  • man, im so glad my mother showed me and my sister this movie when we were 5-8 years old : ) now were 13-16 and still love this movie

  • Does anybody know where the movie "Cat Ballou" was filmed?

  • Jane, wow - what a face , what a range (of emotions). That movie really stuck with me. Comedy or not it's asking some real important questions. All I can say is 42.

  • The part of the email that begins with "To Whom it may concern" is true. It's a quote from an article titled SHAME ON JANE originally published on the Advocacy And Intelligence Index website on April 28, 1999 and written by Michael Benge who was a civilian captured by the North Vietnamese in 1968.

  • This story hearkens to a real visit to North Vietnam by Jane Fonda in July of 1972, but the stories about betraying POWs is not true. There is no dispute that her visit took place and that her words and actions were in support of the enemy.

  • one of the best western of all ...

  • NAT KING REALLY WAS KING

  • "Cat Ballou" and "Blazing Saddles" are the two funniest Westerns made.

  • "Cat Ballou" and "Blazing Saddles" are followed closely by "Support Your Local Sheriff", "Support Your Local Gunfighter" and Terrance Hill's "Trinity" films.

  • @MrUnidyne Might I add Paint your Wagon?

  • @GIRlovesWaffles How ignorant of me! Yes, "Paint Your Wagon" deserves to be on that list, especially for the singing talents of Lee Marvin ("I Was Born Under A Wonderin' Star" became a minor hit for him!).

  • @ebf1957 Dont forget that movie" Advance to the Rear", another funny western

  • that girl can sure fill out a pair of tight fittin jeans

  • shes a commie cunt who should of been hung

  • @mavivirgie Why wasn't she charged?

  • @mavivirgie You lot are paranoid!

  • @Factnotfictionpeople LEARN HOW TO WRITE ENGLISH

  • @mavivirgie I have - and can! Whats your excuse?

  • @Factnotfictionpeople TAKE THE COCK OUT OF YOUR MOUTH YOU ENGLISH COCKSUCKING HOMO FAG

  • @mavivirgie Okay, so we know you're a virgin, but that doesn't make you a bad person. Keep ranting, this profiling is fun.

PS - thanks for the private message, I've sent you a reply.

  • This is my very favourite movie from my childhood, my grandmother took me to see it in 1965 when I was 7 years old !

  • I love this film seen it 10000000 times...!!have a listen to my Eurovision 2009 entry for Ireland its on my site...leave a comment if you can....

  • Also one of my most loved movies. Stubby Kaye and Nate King Cole are great as the strolling minstrels. And of course, what can compare to Lee Marvin's performance?

  • I was ten when this came out, and sat through three times in a row. When I got home, my parents were already doing the dinner dishes. Where were you? they said. At the movies, I said. End of story.

  • TCM is running the movie right now.

    I'm recordin it.

I don't like Fonda's politics at all , but this movie is great, and the music is fantastic.

Next up: Paint Your Wagon with Lee Marvin

I'm a Wyoming Native, and resident.

We still live the old west style.

stay at the Irma Hotel in Cody, WY.

    irmahotel (dot) com

and you will literally step back in time to 1902.

  • makes no different how you try youllnever make cry!

  • The movie was made in 64,I doubt Miss Fonda made any public statements of support for the North Vietnamese early as 1964 . She didn't go to Vietnam til 72. My point was about the previous posters slamming this film because of Jane Fonda's personal views. The film is wonderful and a classic,Fonda's views on the war shouldn't be a part of that.

  • I love Stubby Kaye (sp?) he was so cute and he could really sing! Check him out in Guys and Dolls!

  • Don't bring politics into this movie! This film is just pure good clean fun and a pleasure to watch again and again. One of the all time best. And Nat King Cole as we all know has a voice that's gotta be a fine gift from God.

  • Regardless of her politics, she is absolutely a killer redhead. The most beautiful Ive seen in this life. But like all else, beauty and fame fade.

  • Actually as an oldy she still rates as my 'wouldnt kick her outa bed!'

  • ...especially if your name was "Crackers"? ;-)

  • great song great movie

  • Was this pre or post :Barbarella? And did you see Dobie Gillis in the vid ? I don't know why but I always remembered this song.

  • If I remember rightly, it predated Barbarella by about a year.

  • Great post. Is this off the 45 rpm that was released at the time with video to support the visual?

Thanks for posting. Brought back some great memories.

  • Exellent Movie...!!!

The strangest Sumerian gods you knew!

  • jane fonda at her hottest

  • Apkallu...Apkallu-u-u... The strangest Sumerian gods you knew...

  • didnt lee marvin win an award for this movie?

  • Yup. Got a Best Actor Oscar, 1965. On accepting it at the awards show, he's reputed to have said, "I think half of this belongs to a horse somewhere out in the [San Fernando] Valley." That would be the horse leaning against the building with its legs crossed.

  • i'm glad you posted this. i've was wondering if this is was the one where he had the drunk horse too! thanks.

  • Love it! Thanks for sharing! ;o)

  • SMASHING

    Please keep it in YouTube

  • Lee Marvin made that movie! Seeing him on that drunk horse was hilarious

    and seeing him do PT..ROFL!

  • great movie,beautiful jane fonda!!!

  • This film defied description. But it was endlessly entertaining and catipulted Lee Marvin from a B to an A+ actor.

  • Outstanding! A great tribute to my favorite flick after "Casablanca"! Well done!

  • Good song!
