  • DANG! Mike did a great job riding Zenyatta! Man! This makes me so sad! Just... 5 more yards and she would have had it. If this is her last race... I CANT WAIT FOR BABIES!!! Oh and why is everyone comparing Zenyatta and Rachel Alexandra!?!? Stop people! They are both amazing mares!

  • Mike Smith. its not ur fault. you couldnt do anything about. i hate BLAME! I BLAME BLAME!! Zenyatta i love you. ur kids will miake it 20-20 I gaurentee it. Zenyatta could Its to bad Blame didnt have a freak atttack like Quality Road did the year before Zenyatta ur the best in the world. I owned 2 males callled Saratoga Russell,Omar Kayian Two greats Not close to u though. I Love you and i miss you to death if only blame got DQ and you won and could run forever and win every single race.

  • sia my love

  • Six days ago someone asked about the music. I'd also like to know the song's title and artist. In addition I have to comment that there's great value watching the race in slow motion like this. You can't help but notice things, without anyone telling you, that played a part in the final outcome. Thanks!

  • what is the name of this song <3

  • Stretch running LEGEND.

  • you could tell that Zenyatta was still gaining speed when she approached and crossed the finish line.....Blame was maxed out. Had she started her kick just a few feet earlier, she would have won, easily.........Zenyatta was the most exciting race horse to watch since Secretariat, maybe the most exciting ever. There has to be a movie about the Princess of Kick.

  • Looking at this race again, Mike SMith made a serious tactical error by placing her down on the rail coming into the last turn. That meant that should would have to be guided out to 3 or 4 wide at some point and when you saw him do that, Z lost steps by having to skip out there. Zenyatta was head and shoulders above this field. Blame isn't half the horse she is.

  • wasent zettyatta a breyer horse?

  • @breyerhorses815 Yes they did make a breyer horse for Zenyatta.

  • I hope the jockey got a tongue-lashing at the very least. One second sooner and she would have won it. What a story that would have been!!

  • This made me cry..

  • Zenyatta is a warrior. Every single race she gave it all her heart. Sure, some of thecompetition she faced was not the best, but, she ran in 3 BC Classics. 1 for the girls and 2 for the boys. A single horse edged her by a nose in the race where she just had too much left to do. She ran her race here. She just had a little too much left to do. Blame was being reeled in and given 100 more yards and he loses by a length, more or less.

  • she has the same stride and face of frankel

  • some horse that the best ever i think 5 more yards she would of got up

  • @pokerstarboxer not even the next step she was by blame. She came like a freight train.

  • omg people she is still the best beaten by a nose isnt a loss she came from dead last like 10 or 15 lengths from the lead. it wasnt a loss it was a small victory for Blame think of it this way if there was a half furlong left he would of lost by a length or two

  • what song is that

  • better w/out the music

  • @geryroe Sorry but my camera really sucks at picking up audio, so nobody would be able to hear the commentators.

  • Zennys jockey was so pissed. He blames himself for her loss

  • @katnjas It was never Mike's fault. He did a brilliant job riding her.

  • @mshobohorse I agree, He rode her perfectly, he also brought her to victory in 19 straight races.

  • @katnjas David Flores had her for her first 2 or 3 .

  • What is the song you used?

  • @HorseCrazieGirl15 I said it in the comments.

  • Did you guys know that Blame and Zenyatta are related?

  • @mshobohorse Almost ALL the horses are related. Either through Northern Dancer.. or if you trace it back a little to the three majors from England..

  • heartbreaking video ive watched it over a thousand times always wanting her to go by soooo bad! two steps after the wire she was even if not passed blame horse racing will never be the same without zenyatta every race is so meaningless no importance just a bunch of addictive gamblers trying to make some money and always end up down she brought life to horseracing and will be missed by many champion in my eyes zenyatta and mike it wasnt your fault whoever blames him is dumb he rode her the same

  • What is this song? Its absolutely, beautiful.

  • @queenluciaa My Love by Sia

  • terrible music choice, how about the commentators voice instead?

  • @321qaw my camera is terrible at picking up audio so if i left the commentators voice in it the only thing you will hear is a whisper on 100% volume. so i made the decision to use this song since it sounded heartbreaking and the only thing I could find that actually fit this video.

  • bla twilght music bla

  • @horsetrixs dude it seemed to fit the video. chillax on the enthusiasm would ya? lol

  • @mshobohorse lol

  • Tell me horse in America that had been as dominate at Churchill Downs over the past 2 or 3 racing seasons as Blame? Probably as dominate at CD as any horse in America was on any other racetrack. For Zenyatta to have given so much real estate at the beginning of the race, and spinning her wheels the way she was early in the race, and then come so close to beating Blame was amazing. She lost absolutely nothing in defeat that day in my eyes. One of America's all-time greats for sure!! JMO.

  • Incredible what this race-mare accomplished in her career. And the way she went about winning all of those races is what make it even more impressive. Giving away sooooooo many lengths at the start, to run down so many great horses. Did she race the boys as often as we would've liked? Probably not. But she did face 22 of the best colt's in the world that ran on turf, synthetics, and dirt in 2 different B.C. Classics, and defeated 21 of them. Hardly dodging anyone, IMO.

  • 2.010¿Mejor caballo?

HARBINGER en Turf, por solo una carrera.¡¡¡Impresionante!!!

    ZENYATTA,en Dirt,pese a su última carrera.19-1-0.¡¡¡Impresionante!!!

  • great video, really loved it! if theres ever a movie made about zenyatta, i hope this race sequence is done like this!

  • do you know if she is racing again yet because i dont know x shes a great horse if she has foals theyll be great like her xx luv this vid xxx

  • @GranbeSabre Zenyatta has been retired as 2010 Horse of the Year.

  • If some of you don't already know this, Zenyatta is 2010's Horse of the Year.

  • Comment removed

  • @barboro1 Nobody would be stupid enough to put a horse in the triple crown on there first year. Zenyatta started racing when she was 3 because shes a lot bigger than the rest. This race is nobody's fault, if there was more track Zenyatta would have won. Also the dirt was unsettling to her.

  • It looks to me like she didn't change gears until she was towards the end of the stretch. Looks to me she didn't like the track or wasn't use to it.

  • wat the name of the song plz!

really sad for zenyatta....it was so close :/

  • @clubber2810 the song is My Love by Sia. It's in the Twilight Saga: Eclipse soundtrack.

  • 5 MORE YARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • She did her job beautifully and so did Mike.. We all have to always remember that she ran against younger boys only to end her career by a neck. What a filly, love her.

  • all i really wanted her to do was finish this race safe and sound which thank goodness she did i have seen so many greats or possible greats break down in my lifetime this is not the ending i wanted for her but it's still a very happy ending

  • I HATE MIKE SMITH!! HE TOOK HER BACK TO MUCH!

  • @AKM1007 You shouldn't be hating Mike, It wasn't his fault. Zenyatta was not used to the track, she only had a couple days to run on it, I think she ran her heart out like every other race. Considering from where she was and she only lost by a nose. That's pretty impressive.

  • @AKM1007 i know right! he was like " hey im just gonna show off because im the best jockey in the world hmmm i think ill hold zenyatta back" zenyatta: let me go you basterd im gonna loose. she throws her head a bit if u watch closely

  • @BreyerGirl25 That is not correct, Zenyatta was throwing her head around because she couldn't run properly on that track.

  • @BreyerGirl25 HE DID NOT HOLD HER BACK IT WAS THE DIRT GETTING KICKED BACK IN HER FACE. Mike would never do naything so stupid. You know nothing

  • @Horses4ever8 How would the dirt be in her face? She was so far back, she was like running alone. Zenyatta never raced on a track like that and she only got a few days to run on it. It took her a while to get her footing.

  • @mshobohorse because from 1200 punds of animal running on a track. put about 10 of them on there that dirt will reach far back. not to mention she was not used to it

  • Some made notes" this is just a horse race, quit crying over it"..but I say those of you who don't recognize Zenyatta, How spitirual she is.Yes I said SPIRITUAL because those who know horses, have spent long hours in the barn, watching mares foal, working with these graceful animals, we know they "speak" to us if they chose to- if they feel you & trust you....most don't hear them, or don't have the eyes that see them...you will never begin to understand horses, especially those like "ZENYATTA"

  • I Love Zenyatta....She filled me with so much Strength and Pride over the course of her unprecedented career. Hail the Queen!!

  • great video! i almost cried. zenyatta was a great horse and she still is. she did her best and we should all be very proud of her. i can't wait to see her foals! long live zenyatta <3

  • what song is this?

  • @Macmiller502 My Love by Sia, its also used in the Twilight Saga: Eclipse soundtrack (that just goes to show that I love twilight lol...)

  • esta merda faz-me chorar!

  • fuck men i'm from portugal and i felt her loss! she is the greatest!!!!

    zenyatta u are the best!

  • holy crap, u guys r crying over a horse losing 1 race, she had a great career now quit whining

  • @zomgrotfl dude some of these people really had a lot of emotion for this incredible filly, and to see her lose (with all her fame and glory) really set them off. I didn't cry when she lost but I was very sad, people wanted her to win and break the record of 20 wins in a row. You shouldn't be judging people who love her so much that they would cry.

  • @mshobohorse still, its JUST a horse, horses lose races, u have to just settle down, its not something to cry about

  • @zomgrotfl yeah its a horse, but a very important horse to the people.

  • mike smith is a shit jockey,,,cost zenyatta a deserved undefeated career,,,why dont you go shoot yourself smith,,,what a piece shit ride on a great horse,,,how are your googles fitting,,,mud bothered you,,,

  • @nastylefthook1 bub, Mike Smith is nothing to be blamed of, he started crying when he didn't win. Zenyatta only had a few days to run on that track, she wasn't used to it. And it took her a while to get her footing and actually run a real race. Seriously dude get the facts before you go blaming people when its not their fault.

  • @nastylefthook1 woah.whats your problem buddy? did you lose a bet.she didnt like the dirt in her face.he had to push her into it.mike did a great job.

  • @nastylefthook1 - It seems as if you know nothing at all about Horse racing, and with that being the case please take your idiotic statements with you when you leave. Mike Smith gave the mare the perfect ride, if you want to blame someone please take a look at Jerry Moss and John Sheriffs. The weak as water, cream puff campaign against the weakest horses in So. Cal, and not shipping to prep on dirt is what got the mare beat. Mike Smith's decisions were flawless.

  • Well, there is being 'held up' and there is being 'tailed off''. I have seen this horse run many times...and to me, something stunk about the whole affair. He even ran her into the ass of something else coming into the turn. Too much money involved for her to win. A collosal fortune bet on her. When you get that much money involved and you see a jockey ride a race THAT BAD...you gotta wonder. I lost a big bet on her but I feel sick for the connections and for the wonderful, 'unbeaten' Zenyatta..

  • This is beautiful with the music. I was there and walked to the backside while they were presenting to the trainers and owners. Garrot Gomez almost looks evil in the shot when he is trying to get the crowd to cheer. It was so eery when there is a shot of him alone in the winner's circle on Blame while Blame's crew huddle. It felt like a funeral at the end. She just needed a few more feet she would have outran him. He just got there sooner and almost out of gas. I am proud of Blame!

  • that was a really good race i wish she win it

  • It was great race, but Zenyattas connections were asking to be beaten, you cant give away 6 lenghs at the start to top class Dirt horses like Blame, she ran well but Blame was too good. They may be able to give away ground at the start in the fillies races, but this was the first time they had ever faced a field of this quality and those tactics were not good enough to get the job done, had they always stayed atleast a lengh behind the last horse she might of won

  • I cried when I saw the race and I cried harder watching this video! you can't breed that kind of heart. this is why I love racing. Glad she's healthy and can't wait to see her kids on the track.

  • outstanding video presentation of the race --- and what a race that was! They say that the winning feeling only lasts until the next winning feeling; but something like this-- a loss during her final race of her career will always remind me of how felt rooting for her at the end, when she almost got there.

    thanks for sharing.

  • It almost made me cry when i seen Zen had not got there but i could not hold my tears to this video. Fantastic video

  • @IBigBucks Thank you very much :) Life must go on anyways and I'm sure Zenyatta will have very good foals in the future that might carry on her legacy.

  • @IBigBucks I'm sad also. It really pisses me off, and I'm not even American. We can't even turn the clock back. Grrrr.

  • beauty in motion , fabulous creature .....

  • she ran the most beautiful race. a few more feet of track, she would have won.

dirty trip and mike smith was just a little too late to turn her loose.

  • @sedro32 Yeah though losing by a nose is pretty good considering she was like 25 lengths from the leader.

  • Tragic for Zenyatta. BTW what song did you use? I like it...

  • @DarkMage991 My Love by Sia, it was also used in the Twilight Saga: Eclipse soundtrack :)
