hi, how did you get the guitar input running through the timewarp software? I am using a presonus audiobox usb (not a million miles from a line 6 toneport) and it outputs alright through that but i can't get the input working.
I haven't got it open in front of me, but when you look at the ARP at around 0:14, there is a lead going from the top left over to one of the VCO's. I *think* that's the one that does it. I will double check if I get a chance.
@Zebonka Hmm, I've tried all possibilities with leads going from those ones on the top left but still no joy. I've tried contacting the WOW people but didn't get a reply off them :(
Oh! I didn't notice that you'd said you were using the TimewARP and not the Arturia. The thing there is that I mimicked my settings from the TimewARP preset as best I could.
Are you using the TimewARP as a standalone application or as a plugin in some kind of audio host?
Odd! I'm ashamed to admit it but I'm only using Garageband in this video (I mainly use Logic now). Neither program seems to have a problem recognising Arturia, so give that a shot.
@Zebonka Well I've got the Arturia one now, and the guitar input is working through that. It's not quite sounding like yours but at least I've got something to work with. Thanks!
Awesome! Keep in mind that I have other effects on the guitar, not just the ARP. I copied the settings from TimewARP to Arturia as closely as I could but it didn't sound right, so I did a lot of tweaking myself.
OK Thanks. I have about 300ms latency so it's unable to play it real time but I'm using something different than Arp2600 VST. I'm using autopan-tremolo-distortion-auto-filter.
I love your iMac in the background. All I use is a shitty PC. I'm getting a MacBook Pro soon. But that's off topic - thanks for the video on showing how to do the effect on one of Pete's last greatest masterpieces!!
Well he used a real ARP2600, I'm using a software plugin that does the same tricks.
The only real difference is that for some reason, I'm still getting a bit of the original guitar sound coming through ... Pete's track is pretty much just the synth being triggered, from what I can hear on the original song.
you sir are the man

@Zebonka oops i don't know how i've managed to download the wrong emulator. i'll try the arturia one next time i get a chance.
I tried it both standalone and as a plugin but my software (studio one artist) didn't seem to recognise the plugin :s

is their anyway i can do this without that software and some pedals or like cheap mixcraft
posiedonpowertrio 1 year ago
A pedal like an ME-50 will have resonance effects like the one in this, but the hard bit is moving the pedal up and down fast enough.
Not sure what you could use.

Awesome! Love it. Great job.

What audio latency do you have?
Shotec1 2 years ago
(shrugs) No idea, I just plug it in and play the thing!
I think that somewhere along the line, the recording and the synth get out of line and I had to correct for that a bit.

How did you learn that? I've been looking all over for a decent tab but I couldn't find anything...

Tab?
(shrugs) I can't read the stuff.
I just listened to the track a lot. I didn't get it perfect obviously!
Zebonka 2 years ago
Do you mind if I ask what 2 (or 3 or 4) notes are at 0:47 right before the E, D, and G chords?

I got 3 iMacs on my desk right now, 2000-2002-2009. Mac factory!
Zebonka 2 years ago
You are lucky! The only mac I have is an iMac G3 from 2001 with a 500 Mhz processor and 128 mb of ram (I'm getting more ram for it soon though).
But even sooner, MacBook Pro!! Yeah!! :D
I'm making an unboxing/first startup video when I first get it on the account brettdylan0121.

I used a program called "Motion".

So Pete didn't use guitar in real-time when he was recording synth track for who are you?
i heard original who are you synth track from Rock Band Multi tracks and your emulation of the sound is same like original
great work
Shotec1 2 years ago
Oh he used a guitar - essentially he did exactly what I'm doing, but with real equipment instead of computers.
Thanks!

Thanks though!

your good man! almost as good as you are to do stupid comments over videos
btw what program are you using for your guitar?
jff67 2 years ago
Stupid comments?
You must have me mistaken for someone else.
Zebonka 2 years ago
I was meaning wonderful comments actually =)
jff67 2 years ago
Ha it's ok, I don't mind.
I'm using a Line 6 Toneport to plug my guitar into. And recording it with Garageband.
You could do the same thing with any USB or Firewire audio interface, and a copy of something like Logic.
All of the effects are in plugins - at the start of the video I name them.
Cheers!
Zebonka 2 years ago
thanks!
I like the moment when you're retuning the guitar, it reminds me of Jimi Hendrix's SSB live at woodstock
